Hotel was comfy and quiet. They only had one guest service desk so check in was long. The phone in room did not work and the neughborhood was a little sketchy.

I loved my room. It is an eclectic boutique hotel room that feels like a small apartment with a Kitchenette and small seperate living room and eating area. I loved the private little pool area. If you are not in the mood for the loud DJ's and and Sobe "scene" and actually want to chill and relax this is a gem. you can rent a bike a block away and are very close to all. 2 blocks from the Gansevoort, W, Setai hotels a 2 blocks from the beach to the boardwalk that connects you to all. THE PRICE is excellent. they don't have food but that did not bother me. Restaurant coming soon!!

Hotel was quite expensive. The rooms were dark, i.e. not well lit. The breakfast beside the pool was delightful. Parking was expensive with a valet service and availability of the car anytime. The bed mattresses were quite soft and hard on the back. There was no internal restaurant. However, one could by showing the hotel key get access to happy hour drinks at nearby major hotels. The main positive feature was that it was only a 2 block safe walk to the convention center. I have already previously sent my review. Please do not ask again.

Beware: construction starts at 7:30AM during the week if you're in a room facing the street, and you're not paying for any services besides a nice room. One front desk manager recommended a chain gelato cafe for brunch. We passed once we arrived at the location- Miami has much better eateries!! Don't forget to ask for your car early just in case they lose your ticket as they did ours - they had to search every floor for our rental. All in all, we lloved the inexpensive room so the rest was bearable.

The hotel was beautiful. And they also have us complimentary beach chairs which usually cost $20 each.

I went to Miami with two girlfriends and we stayed in the King suite (not the studio suite) and it was a great decision. We had a lot of space, the rooms were well decorated and most importantly, very clean. The staff were also really friendly. I know some reviewers mentioned the noise level - there is no longer construction so that's not an issue any more but the walls are actually thin so one morning we heard a pretty funny fight happening above us. But we there to have a good time so we weren't in the hotel before 4am and were so passed out when we got home we didn't hear anything. So take that as you will. For young people who are going to Miami to have a good time - really recommend this place. You're close to the beach and all the amazing other hotspot hotels.

Pros: Nice clean hotel. Easy walk to beach. Well equiped rooms and quiet neighborhood. Helpful staff. Cons: Valet parking a bit pricy but there is a parking garage a half block away. Not sure what rates at garage were because we opted for valet parking with flat rate and unlimited in & out. Hotel at north end of south beach so you will be a little ways from the main shopping, dinning and club sections of south beach but you can walk to Lincoln Street area in about 10 or 15 minutes or there is public buses that run up and down south beach with advertised low fare but we walked so can't confirm how good they were or fares. Quite a few taxi cabs around also.

The hotel itself was a nice boutique style hotel and had a real small but very nice pool area for relaxing. The 1 bedroom was so small there was nowhere to put luggage. If you get a bigger room i expect it would be better. The cleaning lady and breakfast server were nice. The rest of the staff were really disinterested in any type of customer service. The noise in the rooms is, at times, horrible. The walls are paper thin. I read this complaint online before booking and it is true. Next time I would pay more to stay in one of the main resorts.

This place is not a four-star hotel. Period. It is a medicre tourist hotel in a poor location. The rooms are very small and dark. The beds are uncomfortable, the linens are cheap, the towels are small and thin. There is very little service -- the place is seriously understaffed. It markets itself as a first class/four star hotel, and charges accordingly. This is basically a lie. In a word, avoid.

Had a slightly unpleasant stay at the hotel. The front desk when checking in photo copied my ID and VISA card and due to my banks advise I took back the copy they made of my visa card. The TV in the bedroom wasn't functioning properly. The pressure of the water in the shower was very little, so it made showering allot difficult. I wouldnt recommend this hotel to others.

Location is within walking distance of the beach and major attractions. Clean and generally well maintained. Pleasant staff. Negatives were a deadbolt that didn't work and broken switches on two wall sconces which necessitated pulling out plugs to turn off lights.

This was a great find. The rooms are so comfortable and location is perfect1 Would recommend to anyone wanting comfort and style close to the beach.

I chose this hotel based 3 + ratings. I found this hotel to be extremely noisy. I could hear people walking outside and on the upper floor all night. I could also hear others flushing their restrooms. I had to stay for only a night and thus I did not bother to call guest services to discuss. I had my car valet parked which they charged per night which i did not mind. Overall I will not stay here again.

I thought it would be fun that we stay at a boutique hotel off of Ocean Drive...We came a little earlier and hoped to check-in early, as I called and as well as upon greeting the people were rude and acted like they didn't want to be bothered. Turned us off completely, and we ended up just going to the Sagamore. We knew we could get better customer service there.

this hotel is GORGEOUS, especially for the price. However the street is shady. It is close to lots of things, and within walking distance, but not the nicest location.

Rooms are wonderful. Pool area fabulous. Check in takes much too long. I had a personal emergency and had to day-early checkout...nailed for full extra night stay on reservation. That is not very customer friendly and they probably rented the room for that night. $X2 Nice people and nice hotel overall.

My weekend wasn't going so well until I checked into Riviera Hotel. Very classy and sophisticated it offered me the feeling of luxury and comfort without snoby staff. I'm extremely pleased with my stay and great perks that this hotel offers. This is the only place I will stay at in the future.

Upon arrrival, our first reaction was: "OMG!! What on earth is this?" Yes, the photos of the entrance on the web-site are a bit deceiving. Because of the small entrance and the surrounding construction, you are immediately left with the feeling that you have made a wrong choice. However, nothing could be further from the truth!! Natasha (hostess) did her best to make us feel welcome and comfortable since we had to wait several hours for check-in (early flight). The reception area is a bit tight and cluttered, but the pool and spacious rooms made up for it. What a wonderul stay. Unfortuntely, we were boarding a cruise the next day, but decided we will make another trip to Miami in May(Mother's Day) just to stay at the Riviera Suites. LOVE IT!!

Good for longer stay apartment type hotel with excellent design, good location and helpful service.

We had some trouble checking in...it took about 30 minutes. We had made our reservation on line and the hotel computer service is very (!!) slow. Once checked in we were given keys to someone else's room, but that was corrected quickly...but it resulted in another trip down to the desk, and another 10 minutes or so. However, once inside, the room was lovely! The view was of some ongoing construction that we had read about when making the reservation, so we were not surprised. Great breakfast...great location.

I enjoyed my stay and the people were nice. Room 101 was very noisy when the air condition stop. sounded like water was running down the bathroom wall. Late at night you can hear the hotel laughing and speaking in their foreign langage. This room is just too close to the registration desk. But overall the stay was fine. I really enjoyed the poolside.

It was a nice hotel, would probably enjoyed it more if I would have stayed longer than a night. Location good for beach but far and expensive with taxi to the shopping mall.

This hotel is a boutique hotel, that puts a little too much emphasis on style over substance. Particularly the free wireless is so slow, that it is almost useless. I would recommend this hotel maybe for a private vacation, but for a business trip it was the wrong choice.

Close proximity to beach and shops. Very happy that they provide beach towels, beach chairs and happy hour! This boutique hotel made us feel at home. Conceirge wasn't the best though. The complimentary breakfast by the pool was great.

There is contruction on the building acrossed the street, the block is not atractive due to the construction. The walls and floors are thin, you need to be very quiet or the manger will be at your door.

Please read this full review, as you will find we give this hotel a 5 star high review. We were very excited about this hotel and from the photos and description on hotels.com, as it appeared to be located on (or extremely near) the beach, as well as integrated into a much more well established area. This was unfortunately not the case. It is located in a back-channel area undergoing major renovation. Our Taxi driver couldn't find it due to roads closed for construction. When we did pull up the first reaction was "oh no..." The lobby was as tiny as Super 8 and the reception desk was a hole punched in the wall with it's electrical boxes covered half-hazardly with a pinned up curtain. But alas, as our title infers, this place was a diamond in the rough. Read on. Our room was a slice of paradise, and our friends that joined us were upgraded to the Penthouse Suite so we got to see it too, simply amazing. The decor was fine, the colors were dark and classy, hard wood floor, open large spacious bathroom with exquisite art and hardware. The bed was amazing, kitchen stocked with fine dishware and even a Keurig K-cup coffee machine. We enjoyed the pool, which featured private cabanas and artistic lounge chairs. Though the pool was small, it was intimate and perfect for it's primate placement within the private confines of the hotel's towers, with it's 4th wall groomed to the detail with beautiful plants and privacy barriers from surrounding buildings. The hotel did offer a shuttle service, but this was an independent "South Beach" service that ran on the even hour, every 2 hours. We missed the noon by a few minutes and the 2 pm never came. We ended up taking a cab for $40. Our friends caught the next shuttle at 3:30 pm, to which the driver said he "skipped the 2pm run". When we explained this to the hotel manager (who was on site), she asked no questions and handed us a $40 cash refund with a sincere apology. Large rooms with high standard (for the price). Breakfeast was pretty good. Complimentary sunbeds at the beach :) Free airport shuttle. Internet was pretty fast. The staff is helpful. Must walk 2-3 blocks to get to a proper convenience store. Small pool, but we didn't use it. There are no taxi's passing by, so had to walk a block in heavy rain. Construction didn't bother us. Would definitely recommend this for anyone. Really good value!

The room and the hotel were great and we would have had a great experience but for 2 things - we booked a 1 bed suite but they ran out of them before we checked in and gave us a king studio. After complaining they moved us to a pool side 1 bed. Why couldn't they do that in the first place and make our experience better -BUT in the new room, the bathroom roof leaked a little bit and the flush didn't really work properly.

I have traveled all over the world and stayed in many 5-star hotels. But the Riviera was the best hotel I have ever stayed in yet. The hotel was incredible and better than I ever, ever expected. The sitting room, kitchen, bedroom, and the elaborate bathroom were incredible. I hesitate writing a good review because this hotel could easily charge $300 per night and it would be worth it. This is a fabulous hotel and am honored I found it. I will not stay anywhere else but the Riviera when in Miami! Thank you for being there and the spectacular service! Robert

This hotel was wonderful, much more than expected! Only down fall was parking but that's all over in south beach.

spent a night here - great close location to beach. small but nice boutique hotel. we also liked the cool pool area and free breakfast in morning. overall good stay except the construction across the street that woke us up in morninig

Nice rooms, but very bad service. They even allowed someone into our room. When we got into the room on the second day, there were an extra set of luggage sitting in the room.

Love the place. I didn't expect it to be quite as nice as it was. No turn-down service, unless requested, but the hotel staff were all very reachable. For renting a one BR suite on South Beach, I would look no further for the dollar!

Other than not having any free parking, this was the most luxurious place I have ever stayed in. You'll never find a bed more comfortable. Staff was very professional and courteous. You may have to ask for room service because they really respect your privacy. But for the accommodations, wow!

I loved this place...everything about it, the staff, the comfort, the location, the ammenities....can't wait to return!

This was one fantastic hotel to stay at. Our room was upgraded.. Saw the first one (which I liked) but then they brought us to this other room. It was very spacious, neat decor. Loved It! The service was excellent. Everything was unique. Two blocks from the beach. (very short walk) Really Superb! Continental breakfast by the pool side. *Very Good! I would definately stay here again on my next visit to Miami!

Beautiful interior, nice spacious rooms (700 sq ft). Rain shower, aesthetically pleasing, small pool but beautiful lush surrounds. Access to sister hotel Catalina 2 long blocks away for free happy hour from 7 to 8 was great for me and husband and two college aged sons and their two girlfriends. The drinks were well made (generous with liquor). It became a ritual to meet at the rooftop pool of the Catalina every evening. Free beach chairs (extra for umbrella). Beautiful part of beach. So fun. Recommend highly.

This large one-bedroom suite far surpassed my expectations. The location in South Beach is great. Continental breakfast by the pool from 8-10 am. Access to beach club at a sister hotel. Would highly recommend this hotel.

It's officially become my sanctuary. It will be the only hotel I will ever stay at in Miami.

We really loved our stay there despite the major construction work going on out in front of the hotel. The style is warm and inviting and the pool area is a nice place to relax. Great boutique hotel, would stay there again in a minute.

Really nice boutique hotel, nice calm pool area. As others say, rooms could be better lit but really good standard. Only quibble was that bed was too soft for me, and we had the cheapest room which was good for a night or two but make sure you book a larger room for longer stays. great links to other hotels in the group - use of beach club and shared shuttle bus. Would use again. 300 yards from the beach and shops even closer.
