Location is very convinient, close to the tube. The area is nice, however the hotel is very old and in need of renovation. Couldn't take shower in the morning, no hot water as everyone takes a shower and they can't handle the volume. The staff is very friendly and accomodating. Breakfast was good. Hotel is very old and runned down, but clean. The bottom line is you get what you paid for...

good location for tube . a young persons budget place.... not for over 70's

Loved it!

We are a family of 5 and it was difficult to find accommodations that would fit all of us. St. Simeon was perfect! Plenty of beds for all and within walking distance from tube to all the major museums. Hotel staff was outstanding as well. By far the friendliest people we met in London. Hot breakfast every morning was wonderful as well. Definitely recommend!

I would recommend this hotel for its location and friendly staff, however the accomodation standards are poor. If you are visiting London for a couple of days, are on a budget and don't mind hostel-type accomodation and don't intend to spend much time in the hotel, it will be fine. Pros: 1. Close to Gloucester Road tube station, Picadilly and Circle Lines. Only one tube ride home from West End. 2. Located in Knightsbridge, a very safe area 3. Can use the kitchen facilities including microwave, kettle etc (expect when breakfast is being prepared by the staff) 4. Exceptionally friendly and attentive staff 5. Very cheap for the area! 6. My daughter and I were upgraded from a double to a triple room at no extra cost. 7. The other travellers we met were all very friendly. Cons: 1. The room smelt damp 2. The single bed was so lumpy that my daughter and I shared the double bed. This was our original plan as we had only booked a double room so we weren't upset by this. 3. The room desperately needed a refurb - the toilet cistern lid was broken; the wooden veneer on the tv stand/cupboard was warped stood a couple of inches above the the top it was supposed to be attached to; and although the bathroom was clean, it had black mould growing in the corners. 4.There was no hot water in the mornings for a shower. Evenings seemed to be OK. 5. One of the plug sockets didn't work. 6. The curtains were too small for the window.

The hotel was conveniently placed for tubes & busses,but the room was VERY small, & had no tea making facilities. The dinning room was also , very small, & cramped, even down to the size of the tables.Tea & coffee , served for breakfast, was usually only warm.If you had cerial, they didnt wait for you to finnish them before bringing the cooked English breakfast, which was of poor quality food, and left you juggleing to find space to put it.There was plenty of fruit to be consumed, but there again, either the bannanas were 1/2 black, apples & pears small, and like as if picked off orchard floor, with scabs etc on them. One evenning, we went to the kitchen to make tea, as we were told we could, on going in the fridge for milk, the bottom shelves of the fridge were running with blood & juice , off the bacon.Sorry, not the sort of place we would frequent again, or recomend.

Cheap hotel near tube station and central. Walk distans toi Harrods, a fiew minutes by tube to Oxford Str. The hotel staff wa serviceminded, friendly and very helpfull.

The location of the hotel is excellent, and the service is also excellent - the owners are friendly and polite. The rooms are very small and their quality isn't too high, but they'll do, especially if you're not too picky.

The hotel location was fantastic, it was located in a very safe afre and a few minute walk to Glouster Road tube station. The staff were very helpfull, its basic acomodation but very comftable. i would stay here again for another 1 night trip or if you are not plannying on spending any time in the hotel room.

Are you leaving your room in the morning and return late at night? Then this is the ideal hotel for you. In addition to the bed, you will find friendly and helpful staff, abundant and rich breakfast that gives you energy for the day, a very safe neighborhood for your late night return, and a location close to transport facilities. If you intend to spend some hours at the hotel during the day, stay away. Lack of space and low comfort do not make you feel comfortable.

My friend and I had a pleasant stay at this hotel, The location & price were the reasons I chose St Simeon it is close to the tube. Our room was on the top floor, it was not specious but the beds were comfy, it was clean and windows were easy to open. Only downside would be poor water pressure which meant no good for the Tap Shower !,This Hotel is basic but very good value for those on a budget.

We stayed at this small family run hotel on our vacation. It is in a 4 floor townhouse in South Kensington, only a few blocks from the Gloucester Road metro station. It was very convenient for Kensington Palace as well as the Victoria & Albert Museum and Natural History Museum. The staff was very helpful and they serve full English breakfast. The room was small but clean and comfortable and there is an elevator. We would stay here again if in London.

Central, extremely quiet and safe location, good breakfast, cleanliness, minimal but satisfactory room comfort, friendly staff. Kitchen facilities available free of charge. Could be a little cheaper.

This hotel was very convenient for our stay and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was nothing fancy, but it was very comfortable and clean. The dining facilities were a bit cramped. The location was perfect. Very close to the Gloucester Street Underground station and a short walk to Kensington Gardens. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who doesn't need all the frills of a fancier hotel.

The Hotel situated in quite street of South Kensington inside residential area. The rooms and furnitures are now dated and need renovation. Overall cleanliess is just ok specially for a person who just needs a bed to rest for the night. The front desk is decent and friendly. The best thing about the hotel is its breakfast and serving hospitality. I am really impressed with its hot and cold collection and the collection of amazing fruits. Also the breads, cookies, hot english items are very well cooked and served with tremendous intensity

We stayed at the St Simeon so we could attend a concert in the Royal Albert Hall. It was a lovely walk to the Hall, only about 20 minutes. The hotel itself was horrible. Very old and run-down. Our washbasin was attached to the wall with one thread and the toilet looked like it was originally from 1890. The room itself was so small that one of us had to sit on the bed to let the other pass. There was no room for our luggage. The shower curtain was new as was the shower head. The water was warm in the mornings but cold at night. The breakfast was good. The staff tried hard but it is difficult to enjoy yourself in such conditions. I will never stay there again nor recommend it to others!

Absolutely fab friendly staff. Good breakfast - plenty of food. We had a quad room, has a ensuite built in. Very basic room and some parts of the hotel could do with some repair. But for price and location an excellent hotel, you get what you pay for. The room was clean and the staff helped with storing luggage on last day after check out time until we were ready to go home. Free to use kitchen to make own food and drink during day which is excellent when you are on a budget. I would happily stay there again.

When I travel to the UK to visit family on the east coast i'll usually book a last minute hotel in London to make my journey to LHR a bit easier. I found the St. Simeon because all of the other hotels had been booked. The hotel is conveniently located near the Gloucester tube stop, just a short walk to left and right off the Picadilly line that will take you to LHR. That's why I always choose this South Kensington neighborhood. However, the hotels in the area were going for three times what I paid in that area in the past. That's how I discovered the St. Simeon... was the least expensive and had free wifi listed. While I walked up to check in they first treated me like I had walked in to try get a room while they were totally booked. After plunking down a 3GBP deposit for a key on a VW car keychain, I was escorted up to my room in the tiny lift. The room I was assigned was 25. Two heavy doors to open then into the dingy, musty room. It consisted of two single beds, and old tv, and a nightstand. The bathroom was filthy. Shower still had shaving stubble stuck to the side and the shower head itself would not stay up so had to hold it the entire time. No soap or wash cloths provided, just a towel. Beds were alright, sleep-able but thin sheets which made it cold at night. The window had been cracked open and was unable to close it and two odd shape curtains covered a quarter of the window itself allowing light in. The free wifi which is mentioned didn't work in my room. One of my selling points to the hotel. This was a huge disappointment. I took my laptop downstairs asked if they had a lounge to sit in. Just the dark little kitchen and dining room downstairs below the check in desk. Even down here the internet was slow. The staff were friendly but would walk around trying to push the moldy fruit and coffee off on you. Overall it wasn't a very pleasant stay. Breakfast was included in the price but after reading the reviews on here I opted to check out early and head s

By american standards,this hotel might be considered a bit spartan,but the owner and his staff are the best.The hotel's clientele are worldwide, and of every type imaginable,which leads to discourse on a variety of subjects.The hotel's location is a short walk from many museums and transport,in an upscale area,and is a wonderful place for an extrovert to be.If you feel the need to be at the Hyatt, go there,and don't take up a space that could benefit someone interesting.If you wish to be warmly welcomed into a small community of travelers from everywhere,this is your place to go.John and his staff will do more for you than you can imagine in order to make your stay interesting,and I guarantee you will meet "regular" people from places in the world you only see on the news.I have traveled the world for more than half a century,and became acquainted with more folks in a week that were interesting, than ever before. Again,go there for who you will meet,and how easy it is to navigate around London from there,not for the luxury. If you do not have an interesting stay,it is likely you are in need of a personality adjustment. I will return as soon as is possible,as it is interesting [although not perfect], Most people there were people who always stay there when in London,and there are reasons for this not of a financial nature. If you aren't rude you will feel welcome,and can learn more about the world from people who actually live in it,than is conceivable.It was great fun and any shortfalls you experience,will be minor,when compared to the benefits you will gain from the experience,if you choose to participate.

Convenient to two tube lines and the Museum of Natural History, this hotel is cheap, comfortable, and above all friendly. The desk was very attentive to our needs and the breakfasts were splendid. Excellent hotel in this price range.

Compared to the other hotels at this price, we got what we paid for but we were definitely happy with our stay. The room was small with 2 small twin beds. The sheets smelled a little musty which was a bit uncomfortable to sleep in, the private bath and toilet was very clean, the staff was extremely courteous and helpful, the complementry breakfast was more than what we expected-be sure to get there earlier than later because the dining room gets full quickly around 8-ish. The hotel was located in a posh area of London, surrounded by 4-star hotels and nearby restaurants and close enough to catch the tube to take you to either Heathrow or Gatwick airport or to any neighborhood you wish. If you are on a budget, I would recommend coming here. I'd definitely would come back here again.

i did not expect much as this was a very cheap hotel, but really i cannot complain or say anything bad about this hotel. the staff where very nice and said that tea and coffee where available throughout the day and night from the kitchen. there were also no time restrictions for coming back to the hotel at night. the room was small, with a small double bed but for one night sleep it was ok. the room was basic but tidy and clean and the bathroom was very clean and i was suprised at how nice it was. overall it was a good little hotel for the price, would go back again.

Hôtel vieux et mal entretenu. Accueil certes agréable mais les chambres sont tristes, vielles et sales. Bon plan pour une nuit car bien situé mais si WE romantique alors passez votre chemin sinon elle vous quittera !

Dejlig beliggenhed & venlige medarbejdere på hotellet - så er det eneste positive også sagt. - Mangelfuld rengøring - Larmende toilet. - 2 defekte ventilatorer på badeværelset = ingen ventilation. - Tilstoppet håndvask i badeværelset. - Gammelt skrald (LÆS: bl. a. en rådden madpakke) i hjørnerne på værelset. - Hotellet er IKKE anbefalelsesværdigt!!!

Perfecte locatie,uitstekend ontbijt,prima service.Kamers prima voor een kort verblijf,maar verwacht geen Hilton nivea.Wij hadden een familiekamer voor 5 personen.Twee persoonsbedden zijn 120 cm breed,dus veel ruimte heb je niet.De eigenaar heeft een bronzen borstbeeld van zichzelf in de hal met daaronder de tekst:this hotel is my life and may never be sold at any price.Gezien de omgeving van het hotel zou hij waarschijnlijk kapitalen kunen krijgen,maar hij wl dus niet.De tand des tijds heeft hier en daar wat vat op het hotel,maar gezien de prijs moet je daarover niet zeuren.200 m.verwijderd van metrostation Gloucester road,welke je in 7 minuten naar de Big Ben brengt.Prima vet engels ontbijt,met als compensatie veel vers fruit.Als je simpel en veilig wil overnachten,nog een ontbijtje wil meepakken,en daarna direct London in,en je de verwachtingen niet al te hoog zet,is dit een prima keus

Nous sommes partis à 5 personnes à Londres pour 2 nuits. La chambre contient 5 lits simples agréables, dont 3 sur mezzanine. Situé au premier étage avec un accès sur le balcon donnant vue sur la rue. Le quartier est très sympathique et très riche. L'hôtel se situe proche des stations bus et métro ce qui est très pratique. L'hôtel offre le petit déjeuner. Seul petit "b-mol", salle de bain assez petite et stationnement de véhicule trop chere dans le quartier ( et dans Londres en général pour ce que j'ai vu. ) Bon Séjour, je vous recommande cet hôtel pour petit groupe d'amies, ou petite famille.

l’Hôtel est idéalement situé proche d'une station de métro amenant directement au centre de Londres. La chambre est spacieuse, il n'y a que la salle de bain qui ne soit pas à la hauteur du reste. Je conseil malgré tout cet établissement.

Le personnel a été extrèmement gentil, chaleureux et serviable.Chambre fonctionnelle sans plus. Petit-déjeuner (Full English Breakfast très copieux et très bon. Nous recommandons cet hôtel sans hésitations !

Petit hôtel très bien situé (près de station de métro, des lignes de bus, à 15 minutes de la City). Installé dans un quartier résidentiel déjà très joli pour des ballades à pied (musées, parc, ruelles...) Chambre assez spacieuse pour une famille avec 3 enfants, comprenant douche et WC. C'est vrai que c'est un peu vieillot et mal insonorisé mais nous avons passé une semaine très calme. Petit déjeuner très copieux (anglais ou français) et cuisine mise à disposition le soir (personnellement pas utilisée) avec un supermarché à 3 minutes à pieds. Personnel très serviable. Nous y retournerons certainement.

Et lille hotel der ligger godt og stille , det bærer præg af at være gammelt og lidt slidt, vinduer og væge er meget utætte , det blæser ind. Man spiser typisk engelsk morgenmad.

Op zich redelijk hotel. Had er meer van verwacht. Ontbijt was erg mager, keukenpersoneel oost-europees en niet heel vriendelijk. Personeel balie en eigenaar hotel wel erg vriendelijk. Douche deed het eerst niet goed, was snel gemaakt, maar waterdruk bleef slecht. Was echt een heel klein kamertje voor 3 personen en je kon niet eens staan in het bad om te douchen (schuin dak). Verder erg gehorig. Je kon de buren letterlijk horen praten. Locatie uitstekend, dichtbij metro en vandaar is alles goed te doen in Londen.

Todo el personal del hotel es muy amable, atento y servicial. Lo mejor es el desayuno, puedes comer de todo, y luego puedes utilizar la cocina durante el día. La habitación es sencilla, no sobra espacio, pero teníamos dos teles, una mesa, una silla, dos mesitas y cuatro camas. Dentro del armario no había ningún estante, sólo una barra con colgadores. El lavabo con ducha es pequeño, caben muy justas dos personas a la vez, pero está limpio. En invierno hay que vigilar de no dormir con la cabeza cerca de la ventana cerrada, porque corre un aire frío, pero nosotros lo solucionamos poniendo toallas en el resquicio. Está situado a dos minutos del metro, y hay dos o tres supermercados y bastantes restaurantes cerca. Lo aconsejaría a familias y a personas que no busquen lujos.
