This is a great place to start or end your vacation. It has a Denny's next door and you can even charge the food to your room.

Great Staff/

Even with our early departure time of 5 AM, the hotel had a quick breakfast waiting for us to grab before catching the complementary shuttle. It made the early morning easy! THANK YOU!

The guys at the front desk were incredible!! I needed their help a few times and they met every challenge with a smiling face, speed and efficiency. So grateful for those two. Definitely made me feel like I was in good hands.

Great hotel if your'e looking for a safe and very clean place near the airport. The staff was very friendly and all fluent in English, if you have concerns about that. Breakfast was delicious. The shuttle to the airport was helpful, and we waited a mere 10 minutes or so for it to come. Would easily recommend this hotel to anyone!

Right up to our departure from the hotel at 4:30am, I would have given top ratings across the board. However, despite our asking repeatedly the night before about whether we could receive any type of breakfast due to our early morning departure, and being repeatedly reassured that sack meals would be available to us in the morning, when the time came, apparently there were no more sack meals prepared. So I was forced to pay for crap to feed my family in the airport and on the plane flight home.

This hotel is very convenient considering its proximity to the airport. We had to catch a flight early morning so there was no need for us to leave way in advance. They have a shuttle to the airport every 15 minutes. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. I would stay in it again should I visit Costa Rica in the future.

Excellent hotel. Very nice to have free, 24-hour airport shuttle. Also, free local and international phone calls were a plus.

Just do not try to check in early. They are full because they are a good value...

The Holiday Inn Express was our last stop before heading home from Costa Rica. The staff was friendly and very informative. Although I wouldn't stay at the hotel for an extended period of time it was perfect for an over nighter. The amenities were helpful including an ice machine, a fight information screen that allows you to check if your flight is on time or if you should expect delays, a baggage scale to weigh your stuff and make sure you don't exceed the allowed weight. Free internet access, continental breakfast (which was actually tasty) and my personal fave, free shuttle to and from the airport. Since this hotel is located very close to the airport expect noise it's tolerable but if you are a light sleeper bring some ear plugs. Across the street from the hotel there was a casino, a Denny's and a Rosti Pollo (the hotel gave us a coupon for this eatery). A short walk away is a Walmart so if you for got something for your trip or you are looking for a last minute present to take home to a loved one, you might want to check them out. We brought back coffee for everyone and we got the best deal at Walmart. In all I would definitely stay at the Holiday Inn Express again.

The staff was so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great and had so many choices. We loved being so close to the airport because that made our departure stress free. The car rental people came and picked up our car at the hotel then we took the free shuttle to the airport, smooth.

This hotel was extremely convenient to the airport. The staff speaks English and is very helpful. Do not buy any liquids in the San Jose airport. They will make you throw them away when you board your flight.

A great ending to a fun trip around Costa Rica. This excellent hotel is right at the airport with 24 hr shuttle service to the terminal. You can even buy your exit visa at the hotel. We left before breakfast was served so they gave us a carryout. Hotel is also served by Gray Line bus tours so we were delivered right to the hotel from our upcountry tour. Good restaurants next door.

Clean

The best thing about this hotel is the location. If you have an early flight, like i did, this hotel is just the one you want. Check in was easy and receptionist was fluent in English. The room was good. The one drawback was that there were only cool showers. The gym was a joke. Free airport shuttle was very nice. My only bad experince was with my room key. When you need to switch four times, something is not okey.

Very close to airport - nice pool area - and an extremely nice complimentary hot breakfast. Clean, efficient - highly recommend.

The staff was friendly, well organized and helpful

When we arrived at the Holiday Inn Express in San Jose, all of our clothes were soaked from a week in the jungle. They didn't have a washer dryer, but were very helpful in locating the one next door and calling ahead to tell them we were going to use their washer/dryer. They also helped us contact our airport shuttle in the morning. It was clean, friendly and had great breakfast.

If you travel to San Jose in order to travel by car from here, this hotel is very conveniently located right near the airport and rental car places. Check out the ROSTI CHICKEN restaurant across the parking lot. And make sure you don't get room 202, which is located about the electric sliding entrance door at the reception (it makes noise all night)

easy to check in, CANNOT walk to and from airport. We got to airport late from a bus ride thinking we could walk but ended up having to take a taxi for just $3 so no big deal. Pretty good free breakfast and a frequent shuttle to the airport. id recommend it. dennys next door only has entrees for $12 and up though...dennys is good i guess but no that good.

The hotel was only a 5 minute drive to the airport with their 24 hour shuttle service. The room was nice and the service was very friendly and helpful.

Excellent!

Great for the night before your flight home. Close to airport. Clean and comfortable. Free, frequent shuttle to airport. Not much food to choose from.

This hotel is in an excellent location. Located literally across from the airport and a short walk from major car rental companies. Even though it was super close to the airport the planes were not loud or that noticable. There is a Denny's and a couple other restaurants in the parking lot and a huge, clean Walmart a one minute drive away.

This hotel is great if you have a late flight in or an early flight out...shuttle runs 24 hours - just minutes to your bed after a long day of travel - clean, airconditioned, free breakfast, free international calling, free internet access. American friendly, great staff, swimming pool. Would definitely stay there again!

Great hotel! Check-in was very smooth and staff extremely friendly. The hotel was clean, comfortable and had a good breakfast. It was very convenient to the airport and I would stay there again.

From the moment we stepped off of the plane we were treated well by every person we encountered. We had no idea, but this hotel has shuttles that pick you up right from the airport without request. On our way our we were greeted by airport employees who directed us to our hotel representative, who in turn called us a shuttle! It got there quickly because the hotel is literally 5 minutes from the airport. Our driver was very kind and when we got to the hotel we were treated very nicely and they were eager to help us with any questions. Check in and check out are a breeze and the hotel is nice for late arrivals or early departures, even though san jose is nothing special. Also, for being so close to the airport we surprisingly did not hear a single plane through the night! Would definitely recommend and stay again!

front desk personnel were not helpful. not busy but not helpful at the same time. everything else good to very good. excellent shuttle service.

great hotel but not convenient to the down town

This is a great hotel... very clean and good staff. This is an airport hotel and thus location only got a # from me... great choice if you are flying into CR for a quick trip or for a long layover.
