Hotel Porta Felice - باليرمو

A good 4-star hotel located at a walking distance to every point of interest. It's close very to the old town, but not yet in it so it feels safe and the streets are still clean. Rooms are clean and new. The bar at the roof is simplistic, yet cheap and effective. Two complaints. The gym is minuscule. It is literally the size of a medium size hotel bathroom. Our room was just beneath the roof bar and on Saturday the noise was such that we couldn't even hear the TV, not to mention sleep. Talk, heels and moving tables...

My husband and I stayed two nights here in December 2011. The hotel is clean and modern. Very nice updated bathrooms. Friendly staff (the hotel porter helped us find parking, which is on-street). We found a spot directly in front of the hotel both days (which is a narrow side street). Getting to the hotel takes a while, because driving in Palermo is slow and chaotic, but this would be the case with any hotel in the city. This hotel is one street off the main boulevard and one street from the waterfront. I had no complaints with our stay here, but would be likely to stay outside of Palermo during our next visit because we have already explored the city and I find the countryside more enjoyable.

The service was not friendly and annoyed when we had requests. No coffee in the room! The restaurant in the hotel looked like a hospital.(We didn't eat there.) It seemed we were bothering them when we arrived. Would not reccommend or return there again.

This hotel surpassed all my expectations. Located walking distance from the old part of Palermo and the shopping mile, it was an exquisite hotel hidden on Via Butera. Breakfast is served on the 4th floor roof top so you can enjoy a beautiful view over Palermo while having your morning coffee. The rooms are very modern, clean and spacious. The staff friendly and helpful. I can only recommend to stay there!

just of the main highway for the harbour but when you arrive you wonder what you have let yourself in for. If you can't avoid staying in Palermo then this hotel is very good. A bit dark in the rooms due to the area and no views but otherwise you cannot go wrong. Spent an hour in their wellness spa. Breakfast fine lots of cakes, coffee not to my liking

Hotel was fantastic - very clean and modern. Not quite expected seeing as how Palermo is rather old. Hotel was very conveniently located. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our stay in Porta Felice was the cherry on top of an amazing visit to Sicily. Only gripe is that free wifi is available only at the lobby or rooftop terrace and not in the rooms. Small inconvenience for an otherwise fabulous hotel.

Enjoyed a two night stay. The room was beautiful - very modern and spacious. The breakfast was ample with the usual pastries, toast and yogurt. It also included fresh fruit salad and bacon and eggs. Not that I want bacon and eggs when I'm on vacation in Italy but I'm sure some people would appreciate it. I would definately stay here again.

Enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff, nice sized room with a small balcony, in a good location. Had free access to the internet. Good buffet breakfast.

Very nice hotel with spacious rooms (we had a superior room for a reasonable price) with very pleasant furnishing. Very clean. The staff was polite and helpful. As has been mentioned previously, coffee at breakfast was simply bad. I am surprised that they have not changed the brand yet (very basic- afterall this is a very good hotel). Otherwise- breakfast was OK. Would certainly recommend.

The location in the historic district is great. The breakfast itself and the location with views over the city and mountains is an ideal way to begin the day. The rooms are modern in design so if looking for classic old design you won;t find it. The beds are very comfortable...so after a long day of site seeing it's great

Hotel was located on the far end of Victorio Emmanuele, along which all of the major sites are located. You will need to walk/navigate the narrow sidewalks to walk the length.

This is the second stay at this hotel, the staff are first rate and very cheerful and helpful. I will be back next year any for any stay in Palermo. My only suggestion is that the hotel should have at least one English speaking TV channel and that more food is on hand in the evenings.

A stylish renovation with a large well equipped bedroom and bathroom. Breakfast was served in a lovely roof top setting. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in a safe neighbourhood close to restaurants. The downside is that the hotel was a long walk from the main sights of the city, the train and bus stations and the port. If I were to return to Palermo I would look for a hotel closer to the Cathedral.

This is a beautiful hotel that is in a recently gut-rehabbed old palazzo. Reception and hotel employees were first-rate, and the room was beautiful (in a modern, trendy way), spotless and comfortable, with high quality bedding and one of the largest bathrooms I've ever seen in a European hotel (replete with spa tub). Breqakfast was one the roof with a huge selection of hot and cold offerings, pastries, fruit, eggs etc. The staff makes you cappicini if you ask, as well. Hotel has a gym and a spa. The spa is beautiful and relaxing, after a long day of sightseeing. When we were there we paid a modest fee to use the spa, but the hotel reception people suggested we let our daughter take a free swim in the spa pool, since it was hot out and she was exhausted (it was a slow day and there was only one other person using the spa--don't know if they would do that if it were busy). All in all, a first rate hotel! If we go back to Palermo, we'll stay thre again!

This hotel is a smaller "boutique" hotel. On the good side, it's in a central location which allows you the ability to walk all over town. The rooms are quite small but apparently newly updated. Some have full sized bath tubs while others only a shower stall. We stayed at the front and back end of our Sicily trip and had a different room for the two nights we stayed at the Porta Felice. Finally, the staff were very helpful. My friend left his camera on the city bus and the front desk worker went out of his way to spend about 10 minutes trying to contact the bus company on the phone for us (someone had turned it in!). The buffet continental breakfast was pretty standard but was a nice way to start the day. As I said though, the rooms were quite small and my biggest complaint was they were stuffy. As a guest, you were unable to control the temperature or fan in your room and it was quite warm with no air circulation. You could keep the balcony doors open as we did but then you also invite the occasional fly or two in, which buzzes and keeps you up most of the night. In order to have the temp turned down, one has to go to the front desk and ask them to do so. Apparently, their way of staying "green." I don't know about you but when I'm paying a decent amount of money for a hotel room for the night, "green" isn't my concern. I want it to be comfortable. All and all though, the price per night for this hotel was reasonable and for the two nights we stayed, it worked out just fine. Keep in mind though, the taxi ride to and from the Palermo airport is quite expensive at 45-50 Euros, although it owuld be that much to get to any hotel in the center of town.

We just got back from Sicily, and wanted to share our experience at the Hotel Porta Felice. We had a great stay here. It was everything you could ask for in Palermo: clean, safe, stylish, comfortable, convenient. Pros - Excellent value, has an upscale boutique hotel feel, amazing beds, clean, complimentary breakfast, free wifi, helpful staff, stylish and well designed rooms. Cons - Nothing about the hotel itself. But I wanted to mention the neighborhood around the hotel can be hit or miss. It's old and has character (lot's of historical sites). Plus, it seems to be making a comeback with a sprinkling of new cafes, galleries and shops. But at night it can be a bit questionable in the run down parts, in my opinion. Just be smart and you'll be fine. For what it's worth, we were there for almost a week and we never got hassled once. We also parked our car on the street and it was fine.

There has never been a more welcome sight than the gorgeous lobby of Porta Felice. There have never been more welcome voices than the polite English speaking ladies at reception. There has never, in 40 years of driving, been anything like the route through Palermo to find this little gem. The rooftop complimentary breakfast was classy enough, with generous hours, lots of selection, but mediocre coffee. In the evening it was pleasant to have a drink and Italian snacks like olives and local deli items while the sun set in the distance. Paolo (from the Bronx) spoke perfect English and was a fun host of the rooftop. Don't ask me about Palermo.

Despite the city street there is a refuge! Hotel Porta Felice is so much more when you walk through the doors.

This hotel, near the port area, is not in the nicest part of Palermo. It is surrounded by old, seemingly run-down/derelict warehouses. The hotel itself, however, is a beauty. I do a lot of travelling for work, staying ostensibly in the Hilton hotels, and the styling of this hotel and room (room 108) outclassed the Hiltons I can remember. The room was large, with a Queen Size bed, another single bed, a high ceiling, and the best looking hotel bathroom I have seen, with marble surfaces in the sink and bath region. The view from the room was not great, but this was not a problem. Breakfast is on the roof terrace with a view over to the port region - though you're not going to spend most of your time having breakfast. We stayed here on our last night in Siciily before returning to London, and of four Sicilian hotels this was the only one with a greater breakfast selection than merely bread, cakes, cereal and fruit. This hotel provided eggs (boiled, scrambled), hams, sausages, among other things.

The dirt and grit of Palermo hides much of its potential, yet Hotel Porta Felice is a wonderful retreat. The hotel is extremely clean and wonderfully decorated. The rooms are very nicely appointed, and have great ammenities. The Turkish spa was fantastic, and well worth the money. Plan to spend several hours in there to unwind and relax properly. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in florence, especially couples.

Nous avions eu une chambre au 3ème étage (sur 4) côté cour. Bien que située juste en face de l'ascenseur, nous n'avions pas eu à nous plaindre de bruits dans le couloir. En revanche, le 4ème étage étant le restaurant au "roof garden", on entendait très bien les chaises, les talons et autres portes coulissantes sur le sol. La propreté de la chambre est assez moyenne : l'intérieur des placards est poussiéreuse, les joints de la salle de bain commencent à noircir et un poil était resté dans un pli de notre couette ! La vue de la chambre donnait sur le toit en tôle d'un immeuble en ruine... Niveau équipement, l'établissement possède une salle de gym... de 2 appareils ! Nous n'avons pas essayé le spa. Le petit déjeuner fait la part belle aux patisseries. Un seul type de fromage et du jambon classique sont proposés alors que nombre d'hôtels en Sicile proposent un peu plus de variété. Le service est aimable et souriant. A l'accueil, le personnel est également souriant et avenant, nous renseignant notamment sur les principaux centres d'intérêt de la ville. L'hôtel est situé dans une petite ruelle en face d'un immeuble en ruine, le cadre ne faisant pas tellement rêver. La mer est à une centaine de mètres. Il faut environ 10-15mn à pieds pour rejoindre la chapelle Palatine.

Das Hotel Porta Felice nahe des Hafens von Palermo. Auch zur Innenstadt ist es nicht weit. Das 4 Sterne Hotel zeichnete sich mit modernen Zimmern, schön verarbeitetem Material und angesagter Technik aus. Schöne Aussicht vom Balkon darf man bei diesem Stadthotel nicht erwarten. Allerdings gab es ein paar Dinge, welche uns nicht sehr gut gefallen haben. Unser Bad stank bestialisch. Trotz Parfum konnte der Gestank nicht verdrängt werden, da die Lüftung 24h durch lief. Wir vermuten der Gestank kam aus dem Abfluss? Der Parkservice des Hotels kostete 16€ und das Auto musste bis 21 uhr abgegeben werden, da das Hotel keine eigenen Parkplätze hat und ein anderer Anbieter die Autos wo parkte. Wer also nach 21 uhr von seinem Ausflug zurück kehrt kann diesen Service nicht nutzen. Wir parkten deswegen auf der Straße ein paar Meter weiter, doch in der 2. Nacht war dann schon das Fenster eingeschlagen und das Auto durchwühlt. Wer also in Palermo oder in einer anderen Großstadt Siziliens parken will, BRAUCH einen gesicherten Parkplatz. Das Personal (welches englisch und zum Teil auch deutsch und französisch sprach) war sehr freundlich. Telefonierte für uns mit der Polizei und empfahl uns ein anderes Hotel mit einem überwachten Parkplatz, wo man auch zu jeder Zeit sein Auto holen oder bringen kann. Dieses Angebot war sogar günstiger. Das Frühstück wurde im Dachgeschoss serviert und man hatte die Möglichkeit drinnen oder draußen zu speisen. Das Angebot war breit gefächert und für jeden etwas dabei. Ein Wellnessbereich steht für Mehrkosten auch zur Verfügung, doch wir hatten ihn nicht genutzt. Fazit: Wir hatten das 4 Sterne-Hotel zu einem günstigen Preis bekommen, so war dies auch okay. Wäre kein Gestank und ein besserer Parkservice vorhanden gewesen, würden wir das Hotel gerne weiterempfehlen.

Hôtel très confortable, belles chambres, petit déjeuner avec vue sur les toits de Palerme, que demander de plus! Surtout que l’hôtel est très bien situé et permet donc de rayonner à pied.

Meget lekkert utformet hotell. Hyggelig personale, noen litt mer knappe en andre riktignok, men vi var der for kort tid til å få et skikkelig inntrykk. Det står på nettsidene til hotel.com at det er nærhet til stranda, og at hotellet kan bestille minibuss til flyplassen. Det stemmer ikke. Men de var behjelpelige til å skaffe en god taxideal.

personale molto cordiale, professionale ed efficente. ottima colazione in una splendida terrazza con vista sui tetti di palermo. posto tranquillo, vicino al centro e al mare. letti comodi e stanze pulite. se dovete andare a palermo lo suggerisco senz'altro!

très bon hotel, bien situé, il y a beaucoup e possibilités pour garer sa voiture personnel très sympa, tout est bon sauf: le petit déjeuner qui n'est pas à la hauteur de cet établissement, un peu léger, jus de fruits sans saveur... wifi uniquement dans le hall de l'hotel sans problème, mais 5€ le câble dans la chambre c'est un peu trop pour moi c'est 8,5 /10

Das Hotel liegt sehr gut. Hat zwar keine eigene Garage. Der Service zu einer externen Garage funktioniert sehr gut.

Hotellet ligger dejlig tæt på alting, samtidig er der kun få minutters gang til grønne områder og strandpromenaden. Personalet er meget servicemindede, og vi kommer gerne igen.

Hotel Porta Felice biedt echt een zeer goede kwaliteit voor zijn geld. Mooie zeer moderne kamers, praktische en vrij ruime badkamer, goede faciliteiten. Lekker ontbijt buiten op het terras op de bovenste verdieping. Het personeel is heel vriendelijk en steeds bereid je te helpen bij bv. busverbindingen etc. Ligging is goed, dichtbij Piaza Marina, waar er verschillende goeie en gezellige restaurantjes liggen. Zeker een aanrader voor iedereen die naar Palermo gaat!

Meget elegant hotell med ypperlig beliggenhet. De fleste severdigheter innenfor ganglengdes avstand.

Dit was een heerlijk hotel in Palermo, redelijk goed uitgangspunt voor de gehele stad. Mooie kamers, ruime badkamers, elke dag goed schoongemaakt. Zeer behulpzaam personeel bij de receptie, de bar, en de concierges. Zeker een aanrader als u naar Palermo gaat

Speziell Zimmer im 1. Stock des Hauses (ich habe den Vergleich zu einem Kollegen im 2.Stock) haben ein luxurioeses Bad!

This hotel was a pleasant surprice. We ended up staying one more noght, then came back at the end of our trip for one more night. Nicely redecorated rooms, superb service, and a great breakfast buffet. Small minus for a bit hard bed and a bit noisy A/C (but I tend to find all A/Cs noisy...)
