What an amazing hotel, its 6 stars class.! Great location, in the heart of the old town. Great Room. Nice pool. Amazing Staff.!! I just fell in love with this hotel.! Its now my second home.

Spent 3 nights in Cartagena; 2 at the Hilton and 1 at the Alfiz. This is a cute little hotel near the San Pedro Plaza in the old city. It is a little difficult to find with a small sign on the outside wall on the street. Street names are only a block long so it is very important that you ensure the taxi drivers know the location before you set off from the airport. The hotel was clean and the employees attentive. They were very knowledgeable of the area and helped me with dinner reservations. The free wi-fi was a bonus. I fell asleep lounging by the pool after buying too many cervezas during lunch and mixing it with the hot afternoon sun. Be aware the common areas are open to the air and there is limited air conditioning. The rooms are all equipped with private air as well as bath. Overall a very nice stay in a lovely old city.

When we arrived at the Alfiz Hotel we were surprised to find that we had already received a complementary upgrade from the normal room that we paid for to the family suite. This room actually had a guest room with its own private bathroom. A spiral staircase took you to the master bedroom/bath. Vaulted ceilings with exposed cedar rafters, combined with wood floors, contributed to a pleasant cedar smell throughout. A balcony that looked down onto the street. A Hammock. We were blown away by the beauty of this old building. While some of the appliances (sink, shower, etc) were clearly quite old as well, this did not detract from the experience. After three nights, we decided to extend our trip another day, which meant switching to a different room, the new room also had beautiful vaulted ceilings but was quite small. Despite the room being smaller, it was very nice, and had a large jacuzzi bathtub. Staff was always willing to help in any way they could, and on the occasions that my command of the Spanish language was insufficient, their English made up the difference. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

What a beautiful hotel, it was a great place to stay in Cartagena. Its very clean, the rooms are big & comfortable, the hotel atmosphere is peaceful. The Entire Staff is Extremely Welcoming, Friendly & Helpful.!! Almost forgot the breakfast is delicious.!! One small & minor improvement is needed in the rooms and that is the closet are very small.
