Garden and the Sea B&B Inn - نيو تشيرش

Doro was out working in the yard when I arrived, Thomas came out to meet me in the gravel parking lot. Friendly folks. I asked for breakfast a bit earlier than they're used to. I asked for a vegan breakfast. They accommodated me in both cases -- deliciously in the second case. The room is very B&B which hurts my head a bit, but if Victorian chairs, flowery wallpaper, and doilies are you thing, then this place is your dream. Nice common area with games, books, DVDs, sodas, & snacks, but I stayed in my room. No desk (though a small cafe table did the job), not many power outlets, and generally not a good place for business. The WiFi wasn't bad, but the 19" CRT TV didn't suit my needs. Of course, if you're there on vacation with family, you probably wont mind it. However the room was nice, with a cozy gas fireplace, and a comfortable wicker sleigh bed. In nice weather you could sit in the many comfortable chairs on the porches, under the trees, or by the pool. It was cold and rainy when I stayed. Next time I'm in town, hopefully I'll get to experience the B&B's charm a bit more.

We stayed in the Chantilly Room for two nights. The room was very nice. Definitely not the room for you if you can't climb into a deep tub (also the shower). It does state that on the website. The Inn is about 20 minutes from Chincoteague, so be aware that there is nothing nearby. They are dog friendly, too! Loved the port and the snacks provided in the Garden House. We did not use the pool, but it looked very nice. We will visit here again because we love Chincoteague.

The building was very nice and the owners were very warm and inviting.

My husband and I took a quick long weekend trip to Chincoteague and stayed at this B&B. It was my first time staying at a bed and breakfast and I loved it! The owners were very attentive, and cooked absolutely delicious meals! Information was easy to get regarding beaches, restaurants, and things to do. While they allow dogs to stay, you would have never guessed as there was no "dog smells" and only occasionally did you hear a dog bark. The rooms were large and had plenty of space to spread out. Each room had its own bathroom, and while they were definitely older, they were in working condition and very clean. Beaches were about 20 minutes away, but it's an easy drive and definitely worth saving a few hundred dollars to not stay "beach front." There isn't much around the B&B so plan on driving about 20 minutes to get to anything (restaurants, things to do, etc.), which was the only disadvantage to staying here! We loved it!

We stayed for 3 nights to celebrate our anniversary in late June 2011 and brought our medium-sized dog. What a wonderful place!! Doro and Thomas recommended the perfect spot for our anniversary dinner, and were gracious hosts. Most destinations were 20 - 40 min drives away, and there is not much to do in the immediate vicinity, but we were grateful to be away from the touristy din of more popular towns on the eastern shore. Simply hanging out in the garden/by the pool was a lovely way to spend the afternoon one day. Breakfast each day was a delight---influenced by their German heritage and the local produce. They are serious about accommodating pets--waterbowls, dog treats, doody bags, everything easily accessible. The one caveat is that the entire area is known for mosquitoes this time of year, and I returned home covered in bites--most likely from our trips to Chincoteague, as well as walks in the garden, and probably a stray mosquito in the room. Overall, this is a real gem, and a definite value. We'll return--soon, I hope, and are recommending it to our friends as well.

If you are looking for a relaxing and comfortable stay in hospitable surroundings this is a place not to be missed. The innkeepers, Dorothea and Thomas, are very welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The historic buildings on the property are interesting and tastefully furnished. The rooms are large and well appointed. The white table cloth service for breakfast was both elegant and comfortable, and the meal itself was excellent. The inn's location, just 50 minutes from Ocean City, MD gives easy access to Eastern Shore attractions. We will definitely plan a return visit. Highly recommended!
