Kauai Inn - ليهو

My wife & I had a very pleasant stay in this quaint inn with a very local feel of lush surroundings & beautiful green mountain views in the backdrop. We loved the laid back feel. Was close to the main road that goes through town.

I particularly enjoyed the quiet neighborhood atmosphere in the green with a view of the green mountains nearby. The room was large and pleasant, peaceful yet pretty handy as a fairly centrally located place on the island. There were peanut butter pretzel snacks, coffee cakes, tea and coffee available as well as snorkeling gear and boards which I appreciated.

This place was awesome! the staff was very friendly and the hotel was really nice. they have snorkel gear, boogie boards, and other beach stuff for you to use when you go to the beach for free! There is a gas bbq that you can also use. place is quiet. I will definitely stay here again!

Not a big resort which is what we wanted. It was a great price with wonderful staff. The grounds are well kept and beautiful. Loved having coffee every morning with a great view of the mountains. There is an area to grill and fridge in room so saved money on meals. Highly recommend and will stay there again if/when we go back!

The hotel is nice and clean, the staff is friendly. The down side is that you drive through an industrial area to get to it.

Hotel was lovely. Nice, spacious room, very clean. It was hard to find, there was no sign on the main road and the hotel is off the beaten path. We did hear roosters early in the morning but not too close by. The thing that most disappointed us was the continental breakfast, we thought being in Hawaii there would be plenty of fresh fruit and there was none, not even a banana!

Nice place to stay, nice staff. Air conditioner made a lot of noise.

Lihue is not a busy place, it is pleasant and low-keyed; the hotel is quiet and peaceful, this is a wonderful place to relax and unwind. The staff was wonderful, the location was quiet but not too remote. I will definitely stay there again next time I visit Kaua'i! :)

Great. Staff was awesome. Helpful and friendly. Roosters take a little getting used to but that's the entire island of Kauai.

This place isnt perfect but it suited me and was a reasonable Price. It has a nice mt outlook but if yr walking into town and back (about 20 mins) you have to go thru the industrial park and port area. I think they might be stopping the continental breakfasts after feb 2013. Only 45 rooms , a swimming pool(shallow) in a nice pool area and friendly staff. I would stay again. Good value and better if you have a car.

The grounds are beautiful with mountains towering in the background. The people and service were great. The room was clean and the hotel is conveniently located, but within hearing distance of the the islands main shipyard. Industrial equipment backup warning sounds abound starting around 7:30am.

We were hampered by no vehicle to get around. Quite a hike into town and back, especially if carrying anything. Be prepared for wakeup calls by the roosters at 4 AM.

This hotel provided a clean room with a bed but was close to the shipyards and a huge recycling plant that were rather noisy. It seems to be really in the middle of nowhere and there was quite a lot of street noise in the evening. However, the staff were friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was fruit and breads and sweet loaves but it is apparently being discontinued at the end of Feb 2013.

Clean room with very good mattress. Quiet but hidden behind the commercial port. Would go back anytime.

We were VERY impressed with the comfort of the beds and pillows. Loud air conditioner (but welcome, as it was humid that night) and loud chickens in the morning (very typical for Kauai.) GREAT morning breakfast -- we would stay here again!

Good value for the price. The location was away from the main resorts, so very quiet but only couple minutes drive to the restaurants and nice beach. The breakfast was simple but nutritious- fresh fruit and bagels,muffins, and toast. The owners were very friendly. We will definitely return if we have the opportunity.

This is a good alternative for those who don't need to be near the beach. You have to drive past the port to get there and it is located in a residential neighborhood so services such as shops and restaurants are a drive (or 1 mile walk) away. Rooms are clean and comfortable. We opted for the patio room which was nice to have for sitting outside after touring. The view of the mountains from the patio was beautiful. Breakfast was fresh fruit and Costco muffins and other toastables. Lots of coffee all day. Since most of our time was spent driving to other places, this was perfect. There was some noise from the neighboring room late in the evening and once we heard screeching tires outside at night but in general it was pretty quiet. The only drawback was the the wifi did not work in our room = but it was available by the pool

Neat, clean, easy to the airport yet out of the hustle/bustle of town. Very pretty grounds and good customer service.

A modest hotel with a nice fruit and light breakfast included.no nasty resort fee's.Basic accomation.The bed was comfortable.We used the barbeque in the back of the hotel to cook our supper but there are no dishs in room so we used disposable's.Need good directions or gps to find in dark.Close to a nice beach by Duke's restaraunt,Overall the price won hands down and it was a pleasant stay.If you need to have high end this is not for you but if you are a practical traveler and like to put your buck on activities then book this place.

The Kauai Inn was a very good value.The staff was very friendly and helpful for whatever you might need. Ice chests and boogie boards were available for day use. Breakfast was nice...fresh fruit, toast and Costco muffins. The BBQ was nice to have accessible if you wanted to eat in your room or around the grounds. An abundance of Kauai roosters live around the property and the neighborhood was really cool...nice view of surrounding Kauai hills and open yards in a rural feeling neighborhood. Don't be scared about the drive in...kind of industrial...but once you're through it...it's nice.

The hotel is a 10 minute drive from Lihue where we conducted our business. Room was decent and beds were comfortable. Beautiful landscaping in the surrounding area. Got an early wake up call from the neighborhood roosters but overall we enjoyed our stay at the Kauai Inn.

We had a great stay, enough to motivate me to actually fill out one of these rating forms for a change. Friendly and helpful staff. Not a luxury hotel, but a very satisfying stay.

Really nice for the price. Great place to relax after long days exploring the island. Mountain views are a reminder you're on Kauai and the free coffee all day was so good just black it made me want to beach slap Starbucks for not using local coffee in the airport. Bbq some ONO or other local fish steaks to make the most of your stay.

The hotel room was very clean. The hotel staff was very friendly and made you feel welcome like a friend not just a guest. I would stay there again.

We enjoyed a pleasant stay at the Kauai Inn. The room decor and furnishings are dated, but the room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The air conditioner was a little bit noisy, and it was necessary to run the A/C all night because of the warm weather and humidity. The hotel is off the beaten track, but it is located is a nice quiet residential area (except for the roosters that are everywhere on Kauai!). One definitely needs to have a car if staying at the Kauai Inn because there are no shops or restaurants within walking distance.

My husband, my two-year old daughter and I had a wonderful and relaxing week-long stay at the Kauai Inn. The staff is super-friendly and attentive. The location is great as it is in the middle of a neighborhood, nestled neatly between mountains, a small harbor, and the Meheune Fish Pond, which gave us the opportunity to meet local people and stay away from "noisy" tourists. It has easy access to the highway, a mall, and downtown Lihue -- all ideal when traveling with a toddler. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable hotel from which to explore this incredible island. Three thumbs on behalf of the three of us!

We booked with Kauai Inn because we were looking for affordable accomodations that were in a central location, thus allowing us to adventure on both the south and north shores during our 3 night stay. We don't spend a lot of time in the hotel room on our trips, so the only things I look for less expensive spots with an interest in (1) cleanliness, and (2) convenience of location. The Inn was fantastic! Our room was floor level and was extremely well kept. We did a south shore zodiac raft ride on one day, and a north shore snorkeling day the next...the hotel's location is great to allow easy travel to both ends of the island. There was also a well-maintained pool in the middle of the Inn complex that was empty most of the time. The room rate includes breakfast, and this exceeded my expectations. They provided four or five prepared fresh fruits every day (melon, grapes, watermelon, pineapple, oranges) and a large selection of muffin-bread, bagels, and breads... OJ, juice, coffee and water. If you are looking for a clean, safe, comfortable spot, but not planning on spending your whole trip at your hotel as is the case with some large resorts, then this is a great place to stay

The only thing I didn't like was the air condition. Service, personal and everything is great there!!!

My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon. The hotel has a phenominal view of the mountains and a overall very Hawaiian feel. Fantastic location to explore the whole island from. With easy access to the airport. We will stay here again.

I loved it. very quiet and friendly service. The room was very clean and staff was very friendly.

Friendly environment...very accommodating and helpful.

The sheets on one of the beds was stained with blood. The sheet was clean however, but they still put that back on a bed in a hotel. Disgraceful and cheap. Hotel staff said not to use the laundry after 9pm as a courtesy to the guests with rooms near them. But honestly the ac units were so loud id be surprised if you heard a fire alarm over it. On our last night we had our swimming suits in the laundry at 8:30, when we went to get change to pay for the drier, which costs 25cents for 3 minutes, the woman behind the desk said that they shut off the laundry and was extremely rude. She said it was "too bad" and that there'd be no way we could dry our cloths. I babysat our drier to see how many minutes I could get in, but it didn't appear that she'd actually pull the plug. She just wanted to be nasty.

The Resort was very well maintained and the Staff was very cheerful & helpful. For the money it's a great value. A little off the beaten path; but that's its charm. Contiental Breakfast was very good as well!

Not fancy or updated to resort standards, rooms do not have granite this and travertine that. but I still loved it. Very clean, Staff very nice and helpful. Great location.Easy to get everywhere from here! Reasonably priced. Pool is nice and clean, grounds are beautiful. Thumbs up!

While this is the oldest inn on the island the service is not. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They are more then willing to go out of there way to help make your stay as enjoyable as possible. I wish I'd realized earlier that they also have lots of coolers, beach toys (snorkels, mats, boogie boards), etc. to loan out. The room was very nice, comfortable bed and plenty of storage space for luggage. Would definitely stay there again if in the area.

It appears that this place might be half hotel/half apartment complex. It had a very hostel feel to it. The front desk was very nice and friendly when we checked in. The breakfast spread was very nice and good quality. The location was a bit out of the way but easy enough to find. Some of the surrounding area is industrial factories which is a bit odd, but the other side is all beautiful cliffs. The noise level inside the actual hotel was quiet but it is right next to a public park where the locals decided there was no quiet time and were drinking and talking loudly til well after midnight. We didnt get any sleep as the noise carried so much it was as if they were next store. Price was fair. Pool was a big run down but kept at a good temperature. Parking was easy and convenient.
