Safe for walking, great staff, easy bus access to old san juan. Very loud, ALL THE TIME. I wouldnt stay here again, EVER.

The hotel floor did not have carpet and was tiled. I stayed in a room with a king side bed and a single bed. The single bed seemed to have one of its end broken for a long time.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to have a good time in OSJ. This is a great little place to spend the night and get cleaned up, and is a short walk to a bus stop that will take you to OSJ for 50 cents. Parking is at the Carib Hilton garage. With your ticket validated by the front desk you pay a flat rate, when we stayed the parking costed $20/day plus taxes. Our room wasn't all that big, but it wasn't small enough to feel cramped. The King size bed in the suite was comfy and the sheets were clean. Everything in the hotel was kept incredibly clean actually. We had hot water in the shower and sink, and a small fridge. The fridge comes in handy because there isn't any vending machines, or room-service. There is however a subway that is about 50 steps from the front door of the lobby. Grab a footlong sub and keep half in the fridge for later. Amenities wise the hotel is lacking, but it is a very small place. The complimentary breakfast was passable: toast, cereal, danish, and fruit to eat and milk and orange juice to drink. The rooms were also very well cooled, to the point of even making it feel cold, which in Puerto Rico is a great feeling. One of our rooms was a suite which had a twin size bed that doubled as a sofa. Blankets for the twin were in the closet, no sheets though. My son was 3 when we stayed so we just folded the blanket in half and he slept inside the fold with his stuffed animals. The staff was helpful and we had a great stay.

I had a wonderful time visiting PR for vacation, and the staff here went out of their way to make the visit even easier. My only complain is that the room I had was on the side that was much noisier. I would have switched, but the other rooms were tiny compared to this one. Just be aware and bring noise cancelling headphones or ear plugs. There are constant traffic at all hours. The first night I was not able to sleep until after 2 or 3AM. Then I was awaken around 6AM with fast cars driving by. Having the A/C on also help block out some of the sound.

The building on the inside is well taken care of. Minimal amenities, but the price was good. Great location to the beach and Old San Juan.

Located on a noisy street. Breakfast was Spartan. Room was clean but bed cover was stained. Staff was friendly and hotel seemed updated. Not many dining options within walking distance. Changed reservations to arrive day later and rate increased 50%. Works for short stays. Best of all...no bugs.

The Hotel was clean and tidy but there was no restaurant or bar and the location was poor for alternatives. The self-service buffet breakfast was poor and we could not even get a glass of water. I would not use the hotel again.

Room small but clean- staff very friendly. Free continental breakfast. Walking distance to a number of restaurants.

Generally, our stay was very good. The hotel was very clean, the staff was very courteous, and most everything was better than we really expected. What we didn't anticipate was the street noise from below. I would certainly request an interior room (perhaps that would be quieter). We faced the street so the noise was a bit much. We realize the hotel has no control over this, but is is something we had not originally anticipated. Also, we made reservations for four. When I asked about the bed configurations (before we arrived) they told me there would be one king bed and one single. They told me that they would have an additional "cot" in our room to accommodate the fourth person. Basically, it was a roll away bed. It worked out fine and we all slept comfortably. We would stay here again, but as I mentioned before, we would certainly ask for an interior room to avoid the street noise. We came looking for a clean, comfortable place to sleep after a long, late night flight that didn't cost a fortune. We weren't looking for any special amenities, just a comfortable and affordable place to stay. San Juan Park Hotel met those requirements.

Our room was fine for one night. Very small room. Close proximity to beach and cruise terminal.

The room was very clean. The daily maid service excellent. Bed was the ONLY negative about the hotel. It was VERY hard. The hotel is located in an apparently bad location. People kept saying, "Don't go out at night. It's dangerous!" There is a cop located at most corners all day and night to protect people going to and from the Caribe Hilton located nearby. Next door is a Subway sandwich shop. I was able to get free wireless Internet most of the time.

Room was nice enough, but the bed was hard and the tile floors in the room were dusty/dirty (well they looked clean but if you walked around in bare feet or socks we found out how dirty they were). Wonderful big balcony but on a busy, noisy street. Very close to cruise port terminal. Nice walk across bridge to a little beach, casino and restuarants. Subway (food) and little market super close. Both desk clerks we saw were WONDERFUL!!! Rudy and Nikole were AMAZINGLY helpful and nice.

We found the front counter staff helpful in suggesting tours. Access to laundry facilities after 4 pm is a bonus. We would recommend this hotel to others for both price and service.

Great with kids, 10 minutes drive to Old San Juan, walking distance from decent beach. Rooms are very nice, on a loud road, but didn't bother us. We stayed here for two nights on the end of our trip and had a great time. Free breakfast is about what you would expect for budget and free, but the coffee was always great and the staff very friendly. Parking at the Hilton Caribe behind- for $21 a day with validation.

No good i would not give it one star . it was bad

It's a pretty neat hotel but the room is tiny so we upgraded our de luxe room to jr. suite, and it has a balcony but it was a wrong move for us, it was noisy becoz of the road and the wifi is out of reach in our room, as for location is great, beach to old San Juan and the pier is within walking distance, I would stay there again but I wouldn't want to be at that the same room again!

The room is small, but very clean. The location was perfect for us as it was about 1-2 miles from old San Juan and about 7 miles from the airport. Down the street from the hotel is a bus stop that took us directly to old San Juan. We never waited very long at all and it is only 50 cents to ride. The hotel is also close to a beach.

Very convenient, we could walk to old San Juan, or walk to The Cordado. Price was fair for the location. Parking has a fee. Rooms were clean.

We needed one night in San Juan prior to our cruise. We booked this hotel after reading a number of very good reviews online. We weren't disappointed. Our room was very nicely decorated and extremely clean. Although not huge, just big enough. The front desk staff couldn't have been more helpful at pointing out restaurants, directions, etc. Good proximity to both the airport and Pan Am cruise pier. Walking distance to Old San Juan (approx 30 min). We would definitely stay here again.

The staff was very accomodating. The room was comfortable. The only complaint I had was a real need to mop the tile floors in the room and bathroom.

We booked a suite with one king and 1 single bed. When we arrived, we found the single bed was a sofa without bedding. The front desk said he couldn't find any bedding and suggested we all share the king bed. I simply called hotels.com for a credit. The location map on Hotels.com isn't accurate. The hotel is about 1.5-2 miles away from the old town. It's not on a beach at all and quite a walk to attractions. The worst is that the hotel is on a busy street with no sound proofing windows. You have to be able to sleep with loud traffic noise all night long.

Nice small hotel value. Good walk to Old Town sites. Breakfast pretty basic.

Wanted to stay close to old San Juan, location met that need. As far as amenities, no refrigerator, no in room coffee maker, no in room phone, no pool, hotel staff were helpful, but hotel was somewhat difficult to find, the beach that we walked to was very nice and we did all in all have a nice time.

Good for a one night stay. Not ideally located and is a taxi ride to the old part of San Juan. One taxi driver didn't know the hotel.

Very enjoyable stay. Staff are very helpful, pleasant, accommodating Didn't love the continental breakfast of sugar, sugar and more sugar. They had some fruit tho. I found it too far to walk to most places I wanted to go. However, there are some lovely local beaches steps away and the bus stop is close. A convenience store next door on one side and 3 restaurants lined up in the other direction on the other side. I'd absolutely stay there again.

Our say was good. Two girls got mugged at gun point outside but we were safe. There was a cop on the corner who acted oblivious to the whole thing. If you are in need of a good room for a short stay is a good pick. The bed we had was hard and had that plastic bag thing going on. The power went out one night and the generator was loud, so were the guys shouting in the lower parking garage every morning. We found free parking close by and thre is a Subway right there! The welcome was great and so was the service.

We were happily surprised by this hotel. While the room was quite small, it was incredibly clean, had great air conditioning, and was comfortable. We are pretty independent travelers and don't like the confines of resorts, so for us, this was perfect. The hotel was also great because there was a car rental service around the corner, parking in a nearby hotel for $20 a night, and the bus heading into Old San Juan was just a short walk. Overall, we had a great stay!

Nice budget hotel on the edge of Condado towards Old San Juan, quiet location, Subway, Chinese restaurant and ethnic eating place next door together with car rental and convenience store. Boarded up Normandie Hotel diagonally opposite on the beachfront, near a football park, walk to ocean about three minutes from hotel. We walked down to Old San Juan but renting a car is recommended. Breakfast could do with a bit of variety.

Continental breakfast was not very good - selection and quality. Staff very nice and helpful. Allowed us to leave baggage after check out until time of cruise.

You have to pay for parking about $20 per day so make sure you budget for that

We enjoyed our stay here. It was a basic small room with a small fridge. They only two things we were uncomfortable with was that they photocopy your credit card and driver's license and put it in a file literally behind the clerk's back. That seemed like a non-secure storage method of such confidential & private information in view of identity theft possibiities. Also, the room was small but nice, however, It would have been nice to have just one small table in the room. There were no flat top surfaces to lay anything down. The complimentary breakfast was limited, yet very convenient. I would recommend this hotel. They hotel clerks were very nice!

The hotel is certainly a Boutique Hotel. The room was clean but very very small. A classic European experience. A 5-10 min. walk from a beach. A 15 minute hike to Condado. Which is fine as long as the sun isn't at it's peak. The staff was friendly. Period. Nothing extra. If looking for just the basics than this will work. Great for an over night, but not a lengthy stay. Ended up checking out on day 2 and moving to one of the larger hotels in Condado for the remainder of our stay.

I thouroughly enjoyed my stay at the San Juan Park Hotel. I read a few reviews before booking and I had my expectations but they really exceeded what I expected. The room was very well kept and clean. In the bathroom there was a nice stone tiled shower. There was a fridge in the room if you want to grab sandwiches from the Subway that is next door. It was also only a 20 minute walk to downtown San Juan. I traveled with a girl friend and we felt very safe in the area, you will see lots of people out for a morning run or walk. There is free continental breakfast and the staff always greets you with a good morning. Don't expect any extras though. For example, my friend forgot her toothbrush and phone charger. The front desk couldn't help with either. But there is a mart right next door that we went to. The air conditioner in the room is a little loud also. So if you need white noise or complete silence it might prevent you from sleeping well. But we just used the 'fan' setting at night for quiet. Overall it was a great value for the cost. I would definitely go back.

We had a great time and enjoyed very much all the conveniences. Continental breakfast was more than a good start, Old San Juan just 10 minutes away and only .50 cents by bus, great beach 5 minutes walk, bus to Santurce only 15 minutes away. Another very convenient thing was the car rental just around the corner and very reasonable. Trip to Yunke was around two hours, trip to Ponce a bit more than one hour and we highly recommend both experiences. If we go back, would not hesitate one second and make our reservations at the San Juan Park Hotel again. Thank you all for a very enjoyable five days!!!

The hotel is small, simple and convenient. Good value. The rooms are small and clean and the bed is confortable. I needed to work with my laptop but the room did not have a desk. The TV offered just 14 channels.

It was very noisy at this hotel. The rooms were immaculate and the breakfast was okay. No hot foods but lots of cereal, toast and juice. I just found the bed to be way too hard, and believe me I like a hard bed but this one was for some reason really unforgiving. The staff was great. So if you don't mind a lot of noise and a extremely hard bed than you may like it. The price was a bit high for this place.

We stayed here Feb. 18, the night before our cruise. Found it to be a great location. Subway and convenience store next door. Easy three minute walk to beach and bus stop nearby for a ten minute ride to go to Old San. Five minute taxi ride to cruise ship pier for Carnival cruise. We had a king suite with a balcony which was perfect for our one night stay. Continental breakfast was adequate.

We recently stayed at the San Juan Park Hotel and found it quite charming. Very clean and the staff was very friendly and courteous. If you're looking for a 5 star hotel you might want to look somewhere else but if you are on a budget and want a very nice place to stay, look no further than the San Juan Park Hotel. The location is KEY!!! We walked to Old San Juan in about 20 - 25 mins. Around the corner there is a quaint little diner that serves DELICIOUS authentic Puerto Rican food at MORE than a reasonable price. The Hilton is across the street from that diner and has a Starbucks, Morton's SteakHouse and Pina Colada Club. I can't say enough about that little hotel except it was a nice visit. The rooms are small but if you're looking for a place just to sleep and be refreshed with a GREAT location - look no farther...

hotel was great for the money,location was also great close to free beach&bus stop that takes you to old sanjuan.hotel carib hilton is around the corner,little resturant down stairs has very good food. get breakfast at subway is your best deal,dont have breakfast around the corner little store stinks&there a rip off.safe area nothing to worry about.hotel stay was good but hot shower water was week .room was cleen,bed confy,i booked king size suite a/c was ice cold.room had balkney in front of hotel only problem traffic very noisey at nite but still all in all still could not beet the price for 3 nite stay so it was perfect i would stay here again if i was on a budget & i was able to watch the super bowl & get a subway sub that was very good.little mini mart down stairs has what you need in a pinch,beer,wine,booze,juice,milk.thanks hotel.com&people reed these reviews they help me make a good choise every time.only othere place to eat is at the carib hilton ,mortons steak house very price'y .they also have a starbucks and othere places to eat that carib hilton is a wonderful looking hotel WOW ! its ware barrock ohbahma stay 1st. class joint,good luck! frank&karen ,new jersey

accommodations were sufficient for our needs - a bit noisy since hotel is located on a main road; deskclerk, Rudy, very nice and friendly; continental breakfast was lacking - breakfast attendant late one morning so no coffee; other mornings when coffee was available, it wasn't very hot - suspect it was leftover from day before or made during the night and left to sit and not much choice for breakfast foods

Hotel staff were friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. Location great -- only a 10-minute bus ride to Old San Juan or a 20-minute walk with ocean views. Across the bridge from the Condado. Around the corner from the Caribe Hilton. Stayed here one night at beginning of our vacation and two nights at end. Wi-fi worked great in the first room, not so great or not at all in the 2nd room. Continental breakfast just so-so. Would not honor our request to extend our checkout time by just 2 hours. Would still come back as it was a good price for the location.

I booked the hotel to spend the night after attending the Yanni Concert at El Morro Castle. First, the price was perfect for a night in San Juan . Second, the location was perfect! It is located at the entrance of El Viejo San Juan and next to El Condado. Third, the room was impeccable. Clean, neat, excellent. It was overall, everything I expected and more. To my surprise, the restaurant next to the lobby, although not associated with the hotel was absolutely outstanding and the price very affordable. I will always look at this hotel for bookings any time I need to stay in San Juan area.

This was the perfect spot to spend the night before our cruise. In fact we would consider spending more time there to see San Juan. Clean, surprisingly quiet and with a really quaint little restaurant just next door. We'd definately go back. As a word of advice for them ...the breakfast was a wasted effort, they should have concentrated on very good coffee instead of all of the overripe fruit and corner store pastries.
