Did the job for what we needed: clean hotel near Omaha

The only thing I did not like was that there was smoking in the Casnio.

Great place to stay. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. My mother walks with cane and staff very good about wheel chair assistance to/from casio. Food was excellent.

I enjoyed my stay, quick access was needed for my work and this hotel made it all possible. The Buffet was Great ! and at a great price.

You have to walk through the smoke filled lobby to get to the hotel elevators. The stink of cigarettes wafted into the rooms and the blankets smelled that way, too.

We enjoyed most everything about the hotel but were very unsatisfied with the housekeeping. We were there three days and all they did on a daily basis was make the beds - nothing was restocked. I literally had to call the front desk and ask for toilet paper. Also, we made coffee the first day and they left the leftover coffee and grounds in the pot and didn't restock the supplies for that either.

Close to the interstate and access to many shopping venues. Comfortable rooms with good food.

Room wasn't bad. Relatively quiet until upstairs hot tub turned on at 1 am. Cigarette smoke from the casino might be an issue for some. Buffet was terrible.

They have this big, beautiful facility that gets you excited when you walk in the door just to be there. But you can't get away from the cigarette smoke, no matter where you go. I had a towel stuffed under my door at night to try to keep the cigarette smoke out, but that didn't work. My initial reservation was for three nights and then I found that I needed to stay for another week and even though this hotels rates were lower than others in the area. I just couldn't bear to be immersed in the cigarette smoke any longer. Days later, my kids got in my car and asked if somebody had been smoking in the car, the cigarette smell had been transferred from my clothing to the car interior. I found it difficult to eat my meals at the on-site restaurants because of the cigarette smoke. Everywhere I went in the facility. There were people complaining about cigarette smoke and their burning eyes and throats. When I first arrived at the hotel, my immediate thoughts were that this would be a great place to bring my wife or my wife and kids for a long weekend, but that idea was quickly squashed when I realized that the cigarette smoke just doesn't go away and is everywhere and in everything and in your every breath and every bite of food. Some things are just "no-brainers" when it comes to customer satisfaction and comfort. Installing exhaust fans in the casino to suck out the smoke could not be that expensive. Find another place to stay, I did!

Hotel maintenance sucked our room was never properly cleaned, had to call front desk for clean towels, and new stock for coffee maker

It Took Along Time To Get Checked In Because They Did Not Have My Reservation And Apparently Had To Make One, But The Worst WAs The Smoke. VerY Very Smoke Filled. The Room Was Above Average And The Buffet Was Very good.

Enjoyed staying in this hotel and the gaming fun. The only issue I have is the smoking. The overbearing smell of cigarette smoke was horrible. The casino was so thick with smoke I could not even enter the facility. Either install ventilation fans or segregate the gaming rooms into two areas.

everything was wonderful but hot tub was out of order...

I only had two things I wasn't fond of at the Ameristar in Council Bluffs. The first being the shower head not having hardly any water pressure, and the second being the beds (hard to compete w/since I have a memory foam mattress). Overall pretty good for the hotel section. The casino was a bit out of date compared to others but it is an older property. More table games would of been appreciated as we had a long wait for those.

The walls in the shower were dirty, water spots. Other than that, very nice hotel. Had a good time gambling.

Good food right at the hotel and great rooms.

The hotel was OK but not worth the price, the room had a smoke smell and it was a non smoking room.

We truly enjoyed our stay and were appreciative of the free upgrade to a hottub room. We will welcome the opportunity to stay there again.

what a bang for my buck! clean room, great staff, good food from the restaurants. Only issues for me, tub drained slow, smoke from the casino and location kinda remote.

very good stay, quite, convenient of in house restaurants a real plus. I'm a none smoker so the smoke from the casino was horrid. The room was clean but the tub drained very slowly when showering. Staff very helpful. Got an extra day on hotels.com even when the hotel didnt show availability.

The one thing that we want to mention is the bartender LATHAN at the hotel sprots bar was great - service was amazing.

This is our second time at staying at an Ameristar Casino. This Ameristar though smaller was as every bit as nice. The front desk was very friendly and appreciated our patronage. We even were allowed to check in early. the Steak house there was very good too.

Council Bluffs is halfway from home to relatives, so we overnight there to take advantage of the casinos. This is the first time we have stayed at the Ameristar. The room was clean and fresh. The bed was nice and firm without body pockets. Staff was friendly. Room was pretty well sound insulated. Our view was of the roof and air conditioning systems...but that wasn't a biggie to us. Patrons of the food court should be clearly warned that nothing can be brought onto the riverboat. We wasted two grande lattes because of the law prohibiting transporting food/drink items. I'd stay there again...it became a romantic evening! There was enough slot hits to play for a while (5 hrs on $200), but don't kid yourself into thinking you'll walk away with anything. We spent what we brought to spend and we had a very good time.

I highly recommend this hotel. It was clean, well priced and there was plenty to do between the casino, places to eat and the pool. I would definitely stay there again.

I was very disapointed in the casino. I lost and it seemed that no one was winning. The hotel staff weren't very accomodating or friendly. When we pulled up to valet the car no one came out. We sat a whie before finally parking the car ourselves. The room was adequate.

The rooms were clean. The employees seemed genuinely happy. The only concern we had was the smoke coming out of the casino area. We noticed it as soon as we stepped out of the elevator. Other than that, nice stay.

The room was very clean and we had a smoking room. Water pressure in shower not too good and soft water so it takes forever to rinse your hair. Did not like sharing a pool with Holiday Inn next door. Pool very small and very crowded. The steak restaurant on site was closed so we ate at the buffet...extremely overpriced and food was not too good. Baked potatoes were obviously made early in the day and just kept warm and chicken was over done and dry. Didn't go to the casino so don't know how that was. If you want a clean, nice room for a decent price this is the place to stay but I would eat somewhere else. We chose this hotel because it was close to Creighton University. It was nice being able to smoke in our room so that was one of the deciding factors in staying here. Staff was very friendly too.

This hotel is always our first choice in the Omaha area. Not only is the staff friendly, and room the best around, the hotel staff let us leave our truck in the parking garage for the week we were gone in Vegas. And to top it off, we flew in at 12am and the shuttle came and got us from the airport and drove us into the parking garage to our vehicle. This is my favorite hotel.

Place to close 2 cig. smoke. BAD for allergies! View kinda ok It is close to steak +Lube rest. kids luv this rest. close to imax, + Kids Quest WONDERFUL! !Lots of OLDER Folks ,not to many children. Service Great at Bourbon Rest. TU I think it was Katie ,Was luvly to my Small Date! Mommy +Me nite. As my young son put it We made a forever memory!

Mostly adequate. Nice hotels in the area for much less $, which provide shuttle service, but okay if you want to be right in the casino. The Buffet was pricey, but surprisingly worth it. Disappointed we had 2 queens instead of king we were sold & wanted. Room view was okay - ask for Omaha/river side view if you have an option. Connected to the Holiday Inn & shares pool with them. Not much difference, less $. Also Hampton is in the parking lot of this hotel w/ free breakfast, less $. We walked through both, just as clean and good condition.

We found a large bug in one of the beds in the room. The hotel sent up a staff to change the sheets, but it took awhile and it was very late at night, which was not ideal.
