Great classy looking hotel conveniently located near the harbour and all attractions. I stayed there with my kids and found it very pleasant. Kids loved the fireplace. I will stay there again when in Baltimore.

Great Amenities, great price for that level of hotel, and a very neat historic building!

Very convenient to the Inner Harbor and cool design. The wine and snacks from 5-6 are a nice touch.

Surprised my wife on her 40th birthday with a weekend here. We absolutely loved every minute of it, from the complementary wine upon arrival to the superstar treatment fron the staff. If you want to escape reality and feel like a King or Queen, then stay here!!!

This hotel is worth every penny. Truly geared towards generation Y it hits 5 stars for comfort and chill factor. Super easy going staff and clean large rooms w/ extra comfy bed and linens. Kimpton knows exactly what we want!

Excellent, personal service. Any complaints or concerns were addressed promptly by management and staff. Nice location within easy walk of the waterfront with great value and very funky, but upscale decor. Highly reccommended.

Outstanding staff - everyone was genuinely friendly & accommodating - absolutely everyone. I stayed because of Kimpton name that I trust and the room was excellent, and I was not disappointed.

The personnel were most definitely the best feature of the property. They were friendly, helpful, professional. The hotel has poor signage to tell you where to valet park and poor signage communicating only 3 of the 6 elevators available at each floor are actually for the hotel. The wine in the wine reception was pleasant. The Hors Dourves were warm pork bellies available without utensils or plates. The room did not have a coffee pot, radio (there was an IPod dock), DVD player or movie-on-demand option. The 24 hour fee for Internet access begins when you pay (after you check in late afternoon or evening) and ends at midnight (also not explained). The restaurant is not easily accessible - down the hotel elevator, across a lobby to another building, up a few stairs, across the bad, and then up a full staircase.Oh, and there's no restroom anywhere in the restaurant. You must leave the restaurant and walk into the lobby of the adjoining building. We won't be back.

The hotel location was great, although the neighborhood quickly turned into strip clubs. The main complaint that I had was the quality of sounds traveling between rooms. I could clearly hear the conversation from the other room I complained and the front desk said they will send someone to tell the other guest to quiet down. I don't think that is acceptable. The sound proofing between rooms should accommodate for noises. I wouldn't go back.

The hotel is nice. This was our second time there. The rooms are a little small, but nicely decorated. This was a leisure weekend for us, so I would have liked a DVD player in the room to add to my relaxation. Also, as with many places in the city, the parking rates seemed rather high. After joining the Kimpton rewards program, my husband felt that we should have been offered a discount on parking rather than a credit to the very expensive mini-bar. Overall, the service is great and we enjoyed ourselves.

Charged my card for items i did not purchase a week after checking out.Had to call more than 3 times in a week to get it straight. Not staying here again,i don't care how nice the rooms are!

Love a Kimpton property and was tickled to try The Monaco in my hometown. I was looking forward to a local ( but romantic) overnight. I was truly pleased. Even with the busy lobby and holiday chaos our check-in was great ( thanks to the curbside staff!). Our room was clean, beautiful and comfy. Only issue was that room service delivered less than wonderful breakfast. Bland and dry eggs and taters was not what we had in mind for our first meal of 2012. But with the entire hotel ordering food that morning I can forgive a mediocre plate of breakfast. Will try again for sure!

Stayed in the King Deluxe room for 3 nights. "View of the City" was actually a view of the buildings right next door, but we didn't care since we weren't spending our time looking out the window from the room. The room was gorgeous and huge. Aveda toiletries a nice bonus. It was the quietest hotel I've ever stayed in, hardly saw another guest the whole time we were there. Overall, LOVED it and will be staying again next time in town. Tips: valet parking is expensive, can self park one block away for half the price. Also, wi-fi is NOT complimentary unless you are a member of the hotel club. Knocked off one star for the following: uncomfortable bed (too soft). The room wasn't cleaned the first day. Stingy on towels, had to request more in the morning (since our room wasn't cleaned and re-stocked) and it took TWO calls to get the towels.

Lovely old place. Room was quite comfortable. The only things I did not like: not a neighborhood you want to walk around in at night, alone. Also, the hotel restaurant was horribly expensive.

The Hotel was very clean, the service was very friendly and helpful. If I were to come up with a complaint it would be that the lighting to the entry of my room was dimly lit.

Rooms are to small for the money you pay here. The resteraunt that is inside the hotel ran out of food. the bathroom has only one shower door. no pool.

the staff was really nice and helpfull although they could not find my reservation when I got there and there was a ladder in my room when I walked in. They took care of both issues efficiently. The towels were clean but not crisp white and the shower curtain is dated and did not work. Most hotels now use glass doors as no one want to have shower curtain near you. Room service was delicious and quick.

It was a great hotel but we weren't told that the valet parking was 36.00 aday until checkout. Then we were given a coupon for 10.00 for the mini bar which we used and gave it to desk at checkout they billed me the the 10.00 on my credit card after checkout anyway.I will try a diffrent hotel next time.

The bellmen who met us at the curb were gracious and accommodating....the desk staff was very professional....our room was beautifully decorated and comfortable. The evening wine reception was a wonderful treat. Because of torrential rain, we decided to eat at the hotel restaurant and OMG - we were blown away - the food was fabulous! We can't wait to go back to the Monaco!

hotel room was funky and fun. it was a sexy little spot that was easy in and easy out. i would stay here any time i am in baltimore.

My boyfriend and I took a mini-vacation to Baltimore for the weekend just to get away. The Hotel itself was very nice. Very clean, comfortable and relaxing. Really enjoyed the wine hour they hosted each night. I didn't get a chance to attend the complimentary breakfast but they offered that every morning as well. The Hotel was a 5 minute walk to the Harbor which wasn't bad at at. The only thing we did not like was all the bums and hustler's that were out after 7:00pm. So make sure you have all you need so that you don't have to go out after that time bc you will be annoyed. But again the Hotel was lovely and we are planning on returning soon.

I've never even heard of Kimpton Hotels before, but after seeing the leopard and zebra print bathrobes they give you, I will be staying here more often!! The room was really nice, and the hotel itself was great. The doormen helped my boyfriend and I find our way to a great irish pub that was just up the road. the neighborhood is nice if you're used to cities. I saw a review early stating that the area was "sketchy"!? Have you been to Baltimore? This was the best part of it! If you think that area was sketchy, then go and watch The Wire and you'll see the real side of Baltimore. The 2 complaints we gave at checkout were the only ones we had our whole stay: The mini-fridge was horrible, and the toilet paper holder fell off the wall. The mini fridge was not working so everything was warm, and there was 1 bottle of everything so if you opened a beer and wanted another of the same kind you were out of luck. The prices were ridiculous (like any other hotel) so it was kind of good that the alcohol was warm, but when we bought a six-pack we had to use the trash can as an ice bucket to put the beers in. Overall, I would stay here again. Reasonably priced, walking distance from the aquarium and the inner harbor. Fells point is a bit further, so we drove, but I guess you could walk if you're in the walking moood. If you do go to Baltimore, stay here just for the robes. My boyfriend and I had the most fun taking pictures of each other in those ridiculous things!!

The location of this hotel is great and there are free shuttles to and from attractions so very convenient. We loved the "borrow a pet fish" policy: it was fun to have "Goldy" in our room. Nicely appointed and the breakfast coffee and tea in lobby was nice. Note: service is a little lax. Front desk check in person was blase' and didn't give us any info on wine reception or coffee in the AM. Bellman was the most helpful of the group. Most of the front desk folks weren't inclined to give any more info than requested. (And you'll have to call twice to borrow that pet fish). Again, good location, relatively clean. Just don't look for anyone to knock you out with great service.

We loved everything about Hotel Monaco, from the building's history and decor to the afternoon milk and cookies, cocktail hour sangria, and weekend coffee and cocoa. Our room was beautiful and comfortable and the staff were great. We couldn't have had a better experience!

Hotel Monaco is a beautiful hotel. Our room was very tastefully decorated. The food was wonderful and generous! The staff was very professional, friendly and accommodating.

Amazing, amazing, amazing -- that's all I can say. The staff was more than accommodating, the standard king room was immaculate and the bathroom was palatial. There is an honor bar in the room, but all the prices are clearly marked, and we chose to have breakfast delivered the next morning ( delicious and right on time!) The location is wonderful - an easy five minute walk to Light St, the aquarium, and a ton of shopping and restaurants. Valet parking is offered, and they charge directly to your room. In addition, they're pet friendly with no additional charge or restrictions on breed or size! If you can't bring your pet, they'll let you borrow a fish for the duration of your stay - just ask. We were so impressed that we're looking into stopping at another Kimpton property for our next trip == just because! Definite five stars - we couldn't have asked for any better, and I'm looking forward to trying the in room spa services the next time we stay.

Stylish hotel in convenient location. Upmarket features are offered at a mid market price because it's understaffed (only one registration desk staffer at most times means lots of time waiting in line) and the focus isn't really on customer service (if you feel lucky try getting a pillow from housekeeping on a Saturday.) that said, there is free wine and beer evenings at 6.

The only real problem was that the room was not available on our arrival. It was a minor inconvenience for us because we were able to walk to the Inner Harbor to eat before coming back. However, it was supposed to be a grand surprise for my children to have such a lush room and it became anti-climactic. We caught a cab back after dark - the neighborhood is beyond sketchy!

Wine receptions, beautiful rooms, stunning marble staircases...i'm considering visiting the harbor again just to stay at this hotel. Truely epic.

Stayed here over the July 4th weekend. The hotel is in the historic B&O Railroad HQ, and is very nicely decorated and upgraded. Hotel is situated across the street from the Mechanic Theater - an abandoned REALLY UGLY building. The locals tend to loiter between the hotel and the abandoned thater. This area is not safe after dark.

Had a great stay at the hotel, beautiful room, wonderful staff. The only issue I had was with the valet parking. I called for my car to be ready at 9:45, it did not get brought out until 10:30. This was not acceptable, received no explaination.

Friendly staff clean rooms must stay if in town

While this hotel looks good, it has some serious problems... The bed was comfortable but the sheets had holes in them; not attractive and certainly not what I expected from this hotel. Further, a staff person knocked on our room door at about 1230 in the morning offering us cold water; we had not asked for cold water to be brought to our door. I called to the front desk to ask why we were being disturbed and was told: "oh, he must have gone to the wrong room." Seriously folks, pay more attention to what you are doing. I would not have been bothered by this had it occurred during the day or early evening but after midnight, when we were sound asleep? This is sloppy, careless attention to detail by the staff. I'm currently looking for a hotel in Boston... based on my experience at this hotel, it won't be staying at a Kimpton hotel again.

I have stayed in hundreds of hotels around the world and never had as much as a quarter taken from my room. While staying at the Monaco, my iPad was taken out of my room. The staff was slow to respond. Never apologized and only offered to comp my parking. Poor response to the loss of a tool I use daily.
