While in a beautiful setting, there is an obvious disconnect between the employees and management. The managent is working hard to restore the hotel's potential. The employees have a " what are you doing sleeping in our hotel" attitude. They do not perceive they have any role or responsibility for guests comfort.

We stayed here for 3 nights after hauling our yacht for storage during hurricane season. Recent Hands on management control is working hard to ensure guests a good stay. We loved the location, view, pool, and ambiance. We needed to ask for hand towels, wash cloths, hot water maker for coffee, coffee itself , pillows( there were 3 of the littlest pillows ever seen there so stiff neck on night #1, pool towels ( make sure you get a pool card at check in or no dice, we didn't receive one so problems) . We were given all these items eventually after we asked so just be patient. They will work with you if you work with them.

The room had a lot of defects. There was no hot water, the hand washer had a defective valve and only one of them worked, faucet and shower leaked, shower had a broken shampoo dispenser, room only had two power outlets--- one of them had loose connections. It was a gamble on whether or not you would receive power. The bed was very squeaky. In addition, the service was poor. No one wanted to help and they brushed you off quickly. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

We loved our stay because of the room with such a marvelous view on the harbour. What we missed was some information such as: what number to dial to connect with front desk, where we could find the restaurant and its menu. At the front desk the service mostly depended on only one person to handle all check-ins and check-outs, calls and keys. But on the other hand we enjoyed the possibility to make coffee or tea in our room.

Well, I must say, I was expecting a hotel that was very dated and in need of some repair but with a great view of the harbour and the comings and goings of the ships. This was indeed the case. However, the first room that I was given, after waiting over 2 hours was terrible. It looked like someone had just finished repairs, dust all over the furniture, floor etc. There werent even any sheets or pillow cases. After complaining to the management and the fact that I had paid for a ocean view king with balcony, they gave me the best suite in the house! It was amazing. Right on the corner of the renovated part of the building. It was the upgrade from the room I paid for. It had the best view I have every had! The room looked like it was renovated in the last 5-7 years. It had a jaccuzi that had a view over the harbour. PS...sorry for all the bubbles :) If you are going to stay here, go for the upgraded rooms in the smaller building, as it looks like they are going to be a while in the larger one. As for the rest of the hotel services, I didnt use them. There are lots of places nearby for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Plus did not use the pool as I went to the beaches. Cabana is nice and free with WIFI. Mambo was a bit shabier and you had to pay to enter.

The staff at the front desk could use some training, they seem to not know anything about customer service or how to complete a reservation. No reason that a desk should arrive from a long flight and wait to get check in at the front desk for more than 30 min, the average time for most guest, from what I observed. The hotel is in great need of a make over, you can smell the mold if you turn down the ice cold air condition. The food in the restaurant was reasonable in price and taste good.

Built on the old 1600's fort walls, the pool overlooked ocean with old cannons pointing out to sea. There is also an outdoor bar by pool You were in the center of everything. Several places to eat along to old fort walls, floating bridge & shopping just around corner. Room was nice and clean. Internet, TV,phone however we were told local calls could be expensive. We ate a great breakfast at the Wilhelmena Plein restaurant across from the large letters that spelled out C U R A C A O which was across st. from hotel. We would stay there again.

The best thing about the hotel is it's location. It is within walking distance to shopping and dining and a short drive to various beaches. I stayed on the fifth floor and there was a sign stating that the hotel was under going renovations, but I never saw any work being performed. There were exposed and sweating piping in the ceiling and water constantly on the floor. The room was clean and a good size though. At this time I would not recommend this hotel.

needs to fix all the roof of each floor, they are liking all over for the last 8 months. i stayed in that hotel very frequently and the problem persist.

They need a lot more attention to details. It seem more like a old road motel than the Hotel it could be.

The hole hotel seems to be waterdamages, I stayed in two different rooms in two different blocks of the hotel and both suffered from waterdamages. No hot water for my last 3 days it was broken in all the hotel rooms. The pool was ok but even if you called the reception they could not get any staff to service you at the pool bar. Avoid this hotel.

I was not satisfied with this hotel. It is gorgeous on the outside, but the inside needs work. Was in a great locations. Smoking was allowed in the hallways, and by hotel rooms. Refrigerator stopped working and spoiled my food. There was a cockroach on the shower drape while I was taking a shower. The floors were all wet due to poor ventilation system. Very dirty. Was unhappy with interior of room. Hard to find staff to ask questions. People at hotel desk not that friendly or helpful. Chaos.

The Plaza is the kind of place you go to for the penthouse view or for a one night lay-over but no more. The facility is old, they hand out metal keys with big keychains. Everything was clean but dingy and not very nice. They were renovating some floors though, am sure the result will be nice. We don't stay there again though.

Nice location, right in town, but the $30 and $40 taxi rides from and to the airport were a bit much. It's connected to the water with a block wall with decorative cannons for a cool fortified feel but its not located near a beach. I'm looking forward to a trip back in a few months where I might stay here again or I might look for somewhere closer to the beach with transportation to the airport.

I found the Plaza uncomfortable and inconvenient and the staff horribly impolite and not at all accommodating. I had to ask for help to get my suitcases to the room they stopped just short of being rude (with the exception of one dark fellow at reception), the wi fi is only available in the lobby so you have to come down in the night with everything to access, the restaurant food was tasteless and expensive - I don't know if they treated other guests differently but I found them unpleasant.

WE HAD A KING OCEAN VIEW WITH A BALCONY SUIT!! HA HA VERY SMALL ROOM AND QUEEN BED.BALCONY WAS 3FT BY 4 FT. OLD AND JUST OK..NOW THE SERVICE WAS NONE!!REALLY.. DID NOT GET OUR WAKE UP CALL OR ROOM SERVICE,OR TAXI TO AIRPORT AND ALMOST MISSED OUR FLIGHTS.THIS WAS AFTER ME PERSONALY TALKING TO THE DESK CLERK AND HER ASURING ME THAT THEY WOULD ..NOT!!!!! THE ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT THIS HOTEL IS THAT ITS PRETTY CLEAN,AND VERY CONVIENT TO WALK ALL OVER TOWN..VERY SAFE..THE FISH AT THE HOTEL IS FROZEN NOT FRESH?? WHY I ASKED THE CHEF AND HE JUST SHOOK HIS HEAD...THIS HOTEL GETS A (W.T.F.) AWARD!!

Excellent location to town/Queen Juliana Bridge/Floating Bridge Overall location close to many restaurants/shopping

the hotel has an excellent location and our view from room 318 was great, over the swimming pool and sea. The hotel lobby looks nice and exotic (with a few mosquitoes). The bed was large and comfortable. That's all the positive i can say. On the negative side: our room was worn terribly, things falling off, the door key/lock is a joke (almost falling out of the door), things are growing in the bathroom, the fake ceiling elements are damaged and falling out, the window is not possible to open and very very dirty, etc etc. And the staff downstairs is very busy, usually there was only one person at the desk so ..trankilo, trankilo. The whole thing is just very outdated and worn. Could be made into an excellent 4-star place with some investment... but at this moment it's like a cheap roadside motel.

The Hotel is ok,but the lady in the front desk is not very nice at all,she is not sweet with the guests

My Wife booked this hotel one night while I was asleep-----when I woke up I googled it and was very worried by some of the comments----not to worry--new Management is working Hard to improve things and I like how they have kept the 50's feel without it seeming old fashioned.Location is perfect,close to everything-----we were there for New Years and close to the revelry and fireworks,bars and restaurants.----------------Service is their one downfall but is a problem I have experienced at other Island locations Locals are very laid back---be prepared to wait and wait not just at the Hotel but eveywhere.------In short we were sad to leave--should have stayed for the Carnival---we would be happy to go back!

Before making my reservation I read bad reviews about The Plaza Hotel and I didn't believe it was that bad. My Mistake !!!. Uncomfortable beds and old pillows, Poor Maintenance. No hot water in shower., Old and very small TV with poor reception. Hope you don't make the same mistake I did.

It is a nice and very well located hotel. Its employees are very competetive and friendly. Whenever I be in Curacao I will stay there. Besides the price is very good

Well located hotel within walking distance to central town. Staff was very friendly. Hotel was clean and well run. The pool was beong refurbished but they had a free shuttle to another pool/beach location.

The hotel is a very basic 2 or 3 star hotel, We were a group of 4 on a budget so were pleasently surprised that our room had 2 king Beds. Other than that, rooms VERY basic- no electric outlets in the bathroom. Nice water view, but no balcony. Centrally located in town and easy to find since its the tallest building in Curacao! Rental car agent was SUPER friendly. Pool is not that great. It does have a nice rooftop bar with cheap beer and great view of the city. Easy to walk around Punda and over the bridge to Otrabanda from the hotel. Next time would just prefer to stay on the beach.

Pro: Hotel location is GREAT Cons: No hairdryer / iron / clock radio in room Booked two double beds, got two singles Never got a complete set of towels Electrical outlets confusing Additional service charge added to food bill- gratuity was extra. Warning the orange juice served was Tang. #1 problem- Mosquitoes in lobby / elevator Lobby had a large water/ plant decor that was a breeding grounds for mosquitoes. Even after spraying myself with bug repellent, I counted 28 bites on my legs and arms.

The hotel overall is very lovely and efficient. its location was ideal and the staff was really helpful. The food at their restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced. The shuttle service to the beach and tours were excellent. However little eyesores of maintenance were seen and needed to be upgraded. The mosquitoes in the lobby did not help and it was a bit dark. The curtains in the bedroom needed to be changed and the window for the room to be cleaned. There weren't any hairdryer in the room as advertise, nor iron and ironing board. The housekeeping was excellent as they came every day . The staff at the front desk was very helpful with information about the island and getting around. Its great for a family as my 4 year old enjoyed their kiddie pool.

Dear sir, mdme, I have spent the days in The Plaza Hotel Curacao and Casino for 9 nioghts however: 1.The rooms are very bad and the service is below level. 2.The employees at the front desk are not interested and do very few to satisfy the customer. 3.There is no feed back from the room cleaners and maintenance dept. to the complaints given to the frontdesk emplyees. 4.I have changed the first given room due the fact that the telephone was not working, the batroom shower was continouesly leaking and making a noice in the bathroom. 5.After four days they have cleaned my room for new towels and other bed supplies. 6.The bathing tub is very old and the first cover is losing and obstruct he water to go through. 7.YHE MAIN LOBBY IS FULL OF MOSQUITOS AND IF YOU ARE AWITING FOR YOU TURN YOU WILL BE BEATEN WITH ALL CONSEQUENCES OF IT. 8.SORRY I WILL NEVER BOOK THIS HOTEL ANYMORE.

Very comfortable hotel and people very nice. The only problem is the lots of MOSQUITOES in the lobby all day long,they should do something with this problem,the rest GREAT!!!!!!!!!!

Overall, it was a good place to stay. We were not in the room often but the people were very nice and helpful. There are various places to eat within walking distance. The hotel provided a shuttle to a near by beach at an affordable price and the food was great. I would recommend this place if you will spend most of your time out, Im sure the suits are more nice and confortable.

It is a wonderful hotel in a good part of the city on the island. The only cons are the breakfast lunch and dinner buffet is expensive, you are not near any beaches really besides the shuttle service they have to only 1 beach which is cheap. Wish they had more shuttle services because we would have liked to see more beaches and the taxis there on the island are EXPENSIVE. Besides that, the walls are very thin in the hotel. Woke up to my hotel neighbors 'having some fun'. I'm sure the whole floor could here them, so there really isn't much privacy there. Besides that, it's a good location on the island where the city is.

Had prepaid 3 Junior Suites, none available. Ended up in 3 standard rooms, ours needed a/c maintenance, but never came. Rooms and bathroom are dirty. Front desk staff needs customer service training. Great view from room, but window very dirty. Excellent location, comfortable beds and pillows, good restaurants within walking distance. Good breakfast buffet. The hotel needs serious renovation. Rooms are very run down and dirty.

If you arrive on a Sunday I really recommend to take the brunch at the penthouse. Food was delicious! The room was okay, but honestly I expected a bit more. However I can't complain about it. Good choice!

The hotel needs a full renovation. The pictures do not reflect at all hot it looks. We had a major leak in the ceiling. Finally they agreed to switch rooms, but we got a smoking room!!!!!! They would not change us to another room. Horrible service!

Prima verblijf. mede door de ligging en de vriendelijkheid van het personeel.Helaas deed de TV het niet. DIt door gegeven aan de receptie maar helaas... We wilden graag de troonswisseling zien maar dat was niet mogelijk. Jammer dat we geen koelkastje hadden.De douche in het bad zit erg laag. Wij zijn allebei lang en dit is lastig douchen. Verder alles prima

LO UNICO QUE DEBE MEJORAR ES EL TRATO DEL PERSONAL EN LA RECEPCION HACIA LOS VENEZOLANOS O AL PUBLICO EN GENERAL YA QUE NO ES AGRADABLE, DEBEN APRENDER A SONREIR A DAR RESPUESTAS DE MANERA CORTEZ E INMEDIATAS YA QUE UNO ESTA PAGANDO POR UN SERVICIO Y SU DEBER ES ATENDER A LA GENTE CON UNA SONRISA EN SUS ROSTROS Y CON TODA LA AMABILIDAD QUE SE MERECE UN TURISTA SEA DEL PAIS QUE SEA....

Buen hotel, esta muy buen ubicado pero le falta mantenimiento.
