While in for a concert at the Z we were looking for a quiet place as we had never spent time in New Bedford. Proximity was perfect. The home and inn keeper were delightful. We're planning another trip back shortly.

Inn keeper Diane shows great hospitality

Baggins End is a very cozy and comfortable B&B in a fantastic setting on the water. Breakfast went way beyond what was expected and was absolutely delicious!

This delightful B&B lived up to the descriptions on the Hotels.Com web site and the Inn's own web site -- and then some. We arrived in time to get settled and go to a nearby water-front restaurant (Elizabeth's) and catch the last rays of a beautiful sunset over the harbor. The "enhanced" European breakfast showed that Diane carries on the tradition of her father, a chef. Her Golden Retriever, "Ecco," greeted us each time we saw her and waited patiently to say good bye before we departed. Go there and find out for yourself!

The Baggins End Guest House was a delightful surprise in that provided a beautiful view, a warm and welcoming host, a pleasant room for relaxing and resting, a very tasty breakfast, and delightful other guests. We will certainly be back.

A very cozy and romantic B&B right on the water. The rooms are very nice and the innkeeper is wonderful. I wish we could have stayed longer!

Wonderful B&B, well kept, excellent breakfast prepared by host, host is friendly and welcoming, right on the water and has its on dock, close to a lot of sights around Southeastern Mass. good place to go if your looking for someplace quiet. would definitely recommend, also a good place if you require vegetarian breakfast options.

A most excellent B&B on the water.

Exactly what I needed at Christmas (I arrived on Christmas Day, 2011). The location is convenient and easy to find. The B&B is perfectly sited on a waterfront lot in Fairhaven with scenic views over the Acushnet River toward the New Bedford fishing pier. The room and bath were immaculate and comfortable with thoughtful touches throughout. Diane calls herself the "innkeeper" on her business card but she is so much more than that title can convey. She is the perfect hostess, delightfully interesting and interested. Upon leaving, I felt as though I was leaving an old friend. Ecco the wonderdog is an entertaining partner in this B&B. If anyone is concerned or afraid of dogs, I'm not sure she is really a dog. She seems more like a bundle of love in a golden furry disguise. I hope to return to Baggins End whenever I travel to MA.

If you are lucky enough to find that Diane has a booking available - take it immediately. Diane and Ecco create a home away from home ... there is no need to say more about Baggins End.

We decided on a Three day break at the Baggins End Guest as our last stop on a three and a half week tour of North East America. Our host ,Diane, was a lovely lady who, along with her per dog 'Echo' made us most welcome on our arrival and throughout our stay could not do enough to ensure that we had a perfect break. Baggins End is set in a beautiful garden and provided us with the perfect waterfront location to unwind and relax . An added bonus was the fact that it turned out to be the perfect location to view the spectacular 4th of July fireworks display. Without hesitation, we would highly reccommend a visit to Baggins End.

I loved the bed and breakfast. Diane is a wonderful hostess and Ecco is so much fun. The stay couldn't have been better. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast to any traveler.

Wonderful host, beautiful home, lovely view and delicious food. Would highly recommend this inn to travelers or for a weekend getaway. Very convenient to Martha's Vineyard and Cape Cod.

We had a very comfortable,clean room and bathroom. The owner/hostess was very helpful and personable-cearly proud of her property and rightfully so. Her "extended"continental breakfast was,indeed extended,having hot, homemade things and excellent baked goods and plenty of coffee and fresh fruit.

This is a wonderful place to stay! The host warm but not intrusive. The setting beautiful and calming. The breakfast lovely and yet plenty of privacy and separate space to have for yourself. I hope to return soon!

With only 2 rooms available (with shared bath), it's a wonderful get away spot. The innkeeper is very welcoming and the breakfast fare delicious. Being on the water offers a delightful view too. My husband and I really enjoyed our weekend.

From the time of our arrival, we were made to feel very welcome. The accomadations were cozy and delightful. Diane and her dog, Ecco, are the ideal hosts. Our room overlooked the water and the fresh breezes into our room were wonderful. Breakfast was more than enough with so many choices. If you are going to stay in this area, there is no choice that is even second best. We will be back.

Die beste Unterkunft auf unserer 10-tägigen Reise durch Neu- England. Einfach eine klasse Lage direkt am Wasser, gemütlich eingerichtete Zimmer. Und eine wirklich nette Betreuung. Auch das Frühstück war sehr gut - außerdem das einzige Mal auf unserer Reise, dass ich einen vernünftigen Kaffee bekommen habe. Meine Frau hätte natürlich am liebsten den Hund namens Ecco mitgenommen. Eigentlich wollten wir es ja gar nicht empfehlen , um eine Chance zu haben, dort wieder 'mal eine Unterkunft zu kriegen!

Es ist noch eine dieser kleinen Pensionen, die das Reisen so angenehm machen. Mit nur zwei Zimmer ist diese Bed and Breakfast Unterkunft fürwahr eine kleine Perle. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber, die Betten gut, die Lage am Wasser einmalig und das Frühstück mit Obst, Quiche, Pancakes, Toast, Kaffee und Saft ausgezeichnet. Die beiden Caretaker, Diane an the Wachtdog Ecco, gehören zu den angenehmsten Gastgebern, die ich auf Reisen je erlebt habe. Sie sind bei allen Fragen für einen da, halten sich aber genauso dezent im Hintergrund, wenn man Ruhe haben möchte. Ich genieße immer noch die Abende mit einem Glas Wein am Wasser, bei denen man vollständig abschalten kann. Fairhaven ist eine Kleinstadt. Von hier aus sind Ausflüge nach Newport (Rhode Island), Cape Cod oder der Besuch des Sommersitzes der reichen Amerikaner , die Insel Marthas Vineyard sehr empfehlenswert. Auch Providence und das Walfangmuseeum in New Bedford sind einen Besuch wert. Wer shoppen will, findet in der Entfernung von einer halben Autostunde Outlet-Center und Shoppingmalls. Fairhaven selbst hat mehrere schöne Restaurants und verfügt über einen verrückten und großen "Euroshop", den zwei ältere Damen mit sehr viel Liebe leiten. Hier gibt es nichts, was es nicht gibt. Wenn man Reisemitbringsel hier nicht findet, dann findet man sie nirgendwo. Alles im allen: Das Baggins End Guest House verspricht eine tolle Reiseerfahrung in einer sauberen, inhabergeführten Pension, die es an nichts vermissen läßt.
