Hotel Canal Grande - البندقية

Staid at the hotel for three nights 20.-23.4.2012. Perfect location, very friendly personel and great breakfast. Nothing to complain about. The room was very nice, free Wifi and so on. Defenently recommend this hotell and if we go back to Venice I would choose the same Hotel.

This is a wonderful hotel, great location, service, food, and a very comfortable and clean room.

Visited with my wife for 2 nights in early April 2012. I can find no fault at all with the hotel. The room, the breakfast and the staff were all excellent. I will definitely return. The location is quiet but convenient. Not cheap (nor is anything in Venice) but definitely worth it if you can manage the cost.

All the internet raves are right - this is a fabulous boutique hotel with beautiful rooms and great service. It is a great value for the price.

It was very pleasant to stay in thie hotel because the staffs are extremely kind and the room was clean. Every floor you can find a guest room with comfortable sofa & table. The thing that is was not good is that I stayed there for a short time. Venice is a place to stay for a long long time. You can see the Santalucia Station on the opposite (left) side of hotel, so just looking at the Canal in front of hotel is good enough.

Our stay at the Hotel Canal Grande was amazing! The staff was very friendly and really went above and beyond our every expectation (and was patient with our lack of Italian). Our room was very romantic with a great view of the main canal. I think the attention to details that's evident in the hotel decor and the high quality staff makes all of the difference.

Excellent location, very attentive staff, perfect rooms with everything you wish for and amazing view onto the Canal Grande. Very sufficient breakfast. To our surprise and pleasure the hotel offered us a free water taxi to the island of Murano and back to visit the glass factories. Will definitely recommend and come back again.

We stayed at this hotel for a long weekend in March 2012. The hotel is very close to Piazzale Romana which is about a 20 min coach ride from the Marco Polo airport (single coach trip was 5 Euro) and slightly further to Treviso airport (single coach trip was 7 or 8 Euro). It's about a 20 minute walk to the main Piazza San Marco, but the walk is lovely and gave us the opportunity to explore all the little side streets and shops. The hotel staff were all extremely friendly and helpful - they really can't do enough for you...i have never experienced such a high standard of customer service and i would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Venice without exception.

My wife and I stayed for one week at Hotel Canal Grande in February 2012. Throughout our stay we were extremely pleased at the quality of service and accommodation in all respects. The staff could not have been more helpful and took the time to seek information and make bookings for us for events and transport whenever we made the request. The location is great, away from the tourist hotspots therefore quiet but handy for the rail station, bus station and a water-bus pick up point. Good advice was made available on how to enjoy our holiday. I could not recommend this hotel more.

very near St. Lucia train station. Staff are very nice and helpful. Free wireless in the room is very convenient. Very nice and comfortable room and wonderful bathroom. Very new and clean. Good value for the price

We picked this Hotel after reading the reviews before we went, and we certainly weren't disappointed. Excellent all round, Staff very friendly and helpful.The hotel was easy to find, only a 10 minute walk from the bus station (over the Scalzi bridge) The AVTO bus service from the Airport is only 9 euro's return). Convenient but also quiet location, room was great, warm clean and comfortable. Breakfasts were delicious!! Would stay again and recommend it to anyone.

From the Train station - it was a walk across the bridge, two left turns and you are there. EXTREMELY CLOSE to train station. The hotel is right off of the Canal and is very beautiful. Staff is very helpful. The room was beautiful, spacious, and recently upgraded. flat screens behind mirrors and a balcony overlooking the canal. bathrooms were elegant and up to date.

We chose the Hotel Canal Grande for the evening that our cruise returned to Venice. It was five-star all the way: wonderful location on the canal, extremely friendly and helpful staff, beautiful rooms (we were upgraded to a suite overlooking the canal) and a delicious breakfast. Rooms are beautifully decorated and all amenities are provided (including bubble bath and robes!). Touches such as closets that light up when the doors are opened, fabric-covered walls and turn-down service are just a few of the things that make this hotel so special. This hotel made us wish we had more than only one night in Venice. We would absolutely return and highly recommend to others.

I booked this hotel based on the good reviews and I was not disappointed. We arrived by train and it was a short walk over two bridges to get to the hotel, very easy to find. The staff was very friendly. The location was good, with plenty of shopping & restaurants nearby. It did take a couple of times getting lost to get acclimated, but that's Venice. The breakfast was adequate, with your standard pastry & cereal, and they had a few cook or order items. The room was beautiful overlooking the canal. Not the hotels fault, but I forgot there is boat traffic throughout the night, so there was a bit of noise if you are a light sleeper. The shower was good. My only disappointment was that when we asked about walking to the bus station, i was told the buses didn't run early enough for us to get to the airport in time for a 7:40am flight and said best way was by water taxi. Lucky for us, the water taxi ($120 euro) did not show up at 5:15 am as he was supposed to, so we ended up walking 10 minutes to the Piazzale Roma and they had auto taxis... I wish this option had been told to us up front. It turned out to be the easiest option and only $40 euro. (Still a lot but compared to water taxi, great)

We picked this hotel to celebrate a BIG birthday of my wife's! The choice was perfect, the location was great, very close to the Piazzale Grande where the bus from the airport arrives, a very pleasant walk into the centre but far enough away to avoid the crowds. The staff were all unfailingly friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts were delicious! A great choice!

wonderful location outside the craziness of the center of San Marco yet close enough to explore Venice all over by foot

Our trip to Venice was a surprise for my husband for our anniversary, and our first impressions of the hotel was an exceptionally good one.The room was amazing, staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. It was delightful staying there, and we will do so again if we ever visit Venice again. There are lovely views from the reception / breakfast area of the Grand Canal. The surrounding area was relatively quiet, so it was perfect for relaxing. But you were only a 25min walk from St Mark's Square. We were there for only one full day, but the Hotel arranged a trip to Murano island for a glass blowing demonstration, which meant less hassle for us trying to include all of our sightseeing. There was also an amazing (and reasonably priced) restaurant 2minutes from the hotel, so you didn't have to venture far. Very convenient too.

This hotel is amazing. Awesome rooms... nice, spacious, free internet, top notch free breakfast with outdoor tables on the Grand Canal, complimentary water taxi to Murano for glass blowing demo. Location: only convenient for in/out of train station. Otherwise, get something between Rialto Bridge and San Marco Square... too long of a walk from these 2 locals with tough to follow directions back to hotel.

Good and clean hotel in an excellent location....very accessible as it's near to the river stop and the railway station. The staff service is excellent. One word of caution...as with most hotels in Venice, the most convenient to reach them is via the river taxi which costs 110 Euro from the airport. Otherwise, travel light if one wants to "drag" their luggage over cobble-stones pavements and bridges.

We loved our stay at this elegant and charming hotel in Venice. The staff was wonderful. Our room was beautiful and comfortable. We initially thought the location was a bit remote being quite a walk to Saint Mark's Square and the big tourist sites but quickly discovered all the transportation options and what a perfect spot we were in. We especially loved being on the Grand Canal and on a quiet square away from the tourist crowds. We would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting this amazing city.

Fabulous boutique hotel with a small balcony overlooking the Grande Canal, where we ate breakfast each day and enjoyed a drink at other times watching the amazing canal traffic. The polite, friendly staff were delightful and the overall experience of this hotel was an integral part of our wonderful time in Venice.

This hotel and it's staff are just the best. Nothing is too much trouble. Hope to visit again soon.

We stayed at the Hotel Canal Grande prior to joining a cruise and were delighted with our choice. The highlight for us was having breakfast on the pontoon over the canal - simply stunning. The hotel is beautifully appointed, walking distance from the main attractions and the hotel staff were first class. If you are coming from the airport. I would strongly recommend a private water taxi. Right to the door of the hotel and an amazing experience.

This was a good choice for our stay in Venice. The hotel was easy to find. The close proximity to the train station made it unnecessary to use the water taxi to access the hotel with luggage. (The hardest part was carrying the luggage over the Scalzi bridge to cross to the other side.) The room was small but beautifully renovated with fine linens,a comfortable bed and granite in the bathroom. The hotel was quiet and the air conditioning worked fine. It was easy to access the vaporetto (water bus) to visit other parts of the city. We would stay at this hotel again.

We stayed 2 weeks in italy different cities in 4 star hotels. This is the best of them, very good service only should buy new pillows !!!!! :)))

What a lovely hotel,worth the effort from the station with 2 big suitcases and a bridge with many steps!!! From the moment you walk through the door the staff tries their very best to make you at home. NOTHING is to much for them to do for you. Rooms are beautiful and well kept.The showers modern,water always warm.Oh, do not forget the TV in the mirror! The hotel is central to the waterbus stops and pathways all around. Breakfast a wonderful affair with views of The Canal,good selection of food and once again the staff assisting all the time. Its not a question about should we return to this hotel,but rather WHEN can we do so!

This hotel is conveniently located a few minute's walk (or one Vaporetto stop away) from the Santa Lucia train station. Giovanna greeted us warmly and was very helpful with all of our needs and our questions about Venice, as were the rest of the staff. Our room was beautifully appointed and so quiet. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Stayed at the hotel late May 2011. Excellent service, quality of room, atmosphere and locationl. Distant from major tourist attractions, but we consifered that a plus. Close to the trian station, 2 vaporetto stops, and a number of very good restaurants (e.g., Il Refolo). Front desk helped untangle a reservation problem (reservation paid for through Hotels.com but not received), by finding a room in an adjacent high-quality property for one night (Ca' Nigra), and then movibg us into an eqiuivalent rtoom for the resto fo our stay. Highly recomended.

Situated right on the Grand Canal, with a tiny dock where you can sit with a cup of coffee and enjoy the scene, Close walk from the bus and train stations and water taxi stop. Best part of the stay was the service, which was excellent in every way!

Most accommodating people I have ever encountered! Arrived 10:30am chk in 2:00pm. Rather than remind us of chk in time, they rushed to get room ready and bought us drinks and snacks while we waited!! Unbelievable, and it stayed that way. Room was great also. BRAVO, BRAVO, to this great staff.

Just had a fantastic weekend in Venice staying at the grande canal hotel the rooms were lovely and reception staff very friendly and helpful just the breakfast staff that were alittle miserable but the other staff made up for it. Would definately go back and recommend to anyone.

Location is fantastic to see the sights in venice. If arriving by train or bus, the walk is only 10 mins, and dont waste your money on the vaporetto. The staff is very helpfull and accomodating. The hotel is comfortable and furnished well. Overall, I would rec to all.

Small boutique hotel in a great location. Very nicely docorated. Very clean. Helpful friendly staff with more than adequate English language skills. I will stay there again.

Friendly, helpful staff, in a well maintained hotel in perfect location. Only drawback was the very small shower room - had to leave the door open when using the hair dryer - but we would still go back. and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

We completely enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Canal Grande. It's a relatively new hotel and it shows--the rooms, lobby and details were beautifully done, elegant and very comfortable. The staff at the hotel could not have been more helpful--they recommended wonderful restaurants, gave good directions and were very friendly throughout our stay. The Hotel is short walking distance from the train station (over the big bridge), and is located in a very quiet neighborhood. We arrived late and had a little trouble finding it, so I would suggest that you get a map before coming to be sure you know how to get there. It's about a 15 minute walk to the Rialto, and a little longer walk to San Marco square. Of course all the walking in Venice is interesting, through nooks and crannies and over bridges the whole way, which we enjoyed. We would absolutely stay there again.

What a gem of a find. This hotel is newly renovated and exudes elegance, charm and beauty. The hotel and rooms were spotless, the service impeccable so much so that we were very hard pressed not to stay another night. We were really made to feel at home and the staff went out of their way to ensure a delightful stay.
