Great location, but the parking is awkward underground behind the hotel if you are driving. There is loud music into the night from the bar above the hotel and the rooms are not very sound proof - so not a great choice if you go to bed before midnight. Basic hotel, and basically clean - just not very new.

If your looking for something right in the heart of things the King Edward is the place to stay. I enjoyed that all the best clubs were just across the street, that the coolest places to eat were just around the corner and that the shopping was just next door. The room was clean, the beds were soft. All in all I would come back and recommend the King Edward to anyone looking for a good time in the heart of Banff.

This is a nice place to stay for a few nights or even a ski vacation. Close to everything, cheap and the staff are great. Only problem may be if you're there on weekends there may be some partiers around (mostly due to the price point). But overall would stay there again.

For the price, a nice hotel in an excellent location. The front desk attendant was very nice and helpful. The hotel is a bit on the older side and does not have amenities, which probably brings the price down. The room was nice, bright and clean. The location is unbeatable, it is right in the middle of downtown Banff close to all of the shops and restaurants we wanted to go to. Parking is a couple of blocks away, but not far enough to be a huge inconvenience. Would definitely stay here again.

This place needs alot of work done and it's not in a good location and rooms are very small and it's wright by the bars not clean at all I never ended up staying because it was book wrough and dirty and if you want a good hotel and cheep with out door heated pool and hot tub stay at the hidden ridge it was so nice and good for family its in Banff close to down town it in tunnel mountain

This was not the cleanliness place, but in was in the center of Banff and close to everything. If you are staying for one night and you need something cheap, this is perfect.

For the traveler on a tight budget or for an over night stay the hotel is an ideal choice. The hotel is ideally situated on Banff avenue close to all the shopping that Banff has to offer. But if you are lookingto stay in style this should be your last choice.

It was ok for a night, but I think next time I will spend a little more to get a nicer room at another hotel.

Just located in downtown area,but parking is too far from the hotel. There is no kettle in the room.

great location, bed was rather hard, but you are in walking distance to everything in Banff

A comfortable room in an older hotel. Good location in the heart of Banff.

If you want more I'm sure the The Fairmont Banff Springs has a room for you. For the price it's great! Clean, central location. Limited parking thou! If you want guaranteed parking you'll have to pay $5 extra. Still good. :)))

The room is dirty, the beds are uncomfortable, no iron, the ironing board was broken and they didn't replace it, the hair dryer over heats and stops for 10 minutes after 20 secs of use. And the Worst is that there was a loud noise and vibration in the floor as if there was a huge circulating pump running right next to you.

Decent room, small, excellent location, great value for what I paid!

We were satisfied with the hotel.

It was the worse hotel we'd ever stayed at - very outdated, small, and dirty. Beds were very old and uncomfortable we couldn't sleep. A/C didn't work. No parking available at the hotel, had to park on the street. Not worth the price I paid for. I don't recommend this hotel for anyone.

Enjoyed the stay. Location fantastic. Rooms satisfactory. Registration - friendly and polite receptionist. Room with a TV & small fridge. Coffee-maker and coffee in the room. Ice machine and microwave happened to be next door to us. We would stay there again as we're not visiting Banff and area to worry about the hotel facility. The location, more than makes up for any deficiencies. The price was right!

Once I arrived and checked into my room, I was horrified. It seems my room had been stuck in time since 1982. The room was very shabby and not at all up to date. I couldn't tell if it was dirty or just old and worn out. My guess a combination of both. I pulled back to top cover to check out the sheets on my bed. The first thing I saw was some kind of goo (greenish white in color) on the blanket. That did it for me. I just left and found another hotel. If you are looking for a true budget stay, this is it, but I would say it's not worth it.

It was hard to find and only available parking was 2 blocks down in the parkade. We drove around the block twice before we found it because of its awkward location. The room was clean considering but very small. It was extremely overpriced and the only reason we stayed there is because nothing else was available. I would not stay there again or recommend it to anyone.

Although the staff was very helpful, the room itself was miniature for the cost, the bed was hard as rock, a VERY small "queen" and ancient (at least 15 years old)!! In a place that was so beautiful, the room seemed totally out of step with the atmosphere of Banff. It was extremely hot without A/C! We were NOT impressed with the facility.

The hotel was probably built in the 1920's. In fact, the original beds and matresses are still being used...

It rained the whole time, so it was nice the hotel was close to all amenities.

Well located but parking was a bit of a hike. Patrons during night woke us up, but call to off site desk clerk brought him to hotel to address the noise. Located central to shopping and restaurants--seccond oldes building in town.

++++++disatisfied. Wasn't told to book parking so had to park in public lot and risk a ticket. No luggage cart so had to haul bags by hand. No legal place to park and unload luggage. Room HOT, no A/C so had to open windows, no screens and open to stairway from 3rd floor so any 2 or 4 legged creatures could have crawled in. Left a sour taste re Banff.

Good room, small but okay for a night or two if you don't plan on being in it often. Bed was old but it served its purpose. Your on a main street close to the center of town wich is great except for the street noise in the morning. For the price of it compared to others in town its great. Parking in the back in a covered parkade for free.

Loved our stay at the King Edward. Location was great and the room was clean and spacious :) check in was really easy and staff are friendly :) Would be more than happy to stay here again :)

If you're on a budget in banff, this is the place.

Don't expect much from this hotel, but if all you need is a bed and a shower (that was my case), King Edward will do. If you're looking for a romantic getaway, spend your money elsewhere. Free wireless internet was pretty fast. Free parking garage is right behind the hotel. Since the hotel sits right on the central street of Banff, you'll be able to crawl back to your room even if you're an Irish celebrating St. Paddy's day in this small tourist village.

Having recently stayed in this hotel, we both suffered from itching and bites from what we believe to be bed bugs.. Our bed had what looked like broken base holders, so our nights sleep was on a very unstable and slanted bed. We are very unsatisfied with this destination

It was noisy. People down the hall were partying till 3 in the morning. But the location is excellent. For the price it is not a bad deal. Just bring some ear plugs :)

I had to step outside and make sure the sign didn't read hoStel instead of hotel. Trust me on this one, I don't have the energy to list all the reasons. Spend about 20 bucks more and go across the street to Mount Royal Hotel.

My girlfriend and I stayed overnight at the King Edward to see a concert in Banff and it was great. The room was cheap, clean and in the middle of the main street which was all we needed. There is free public parking behind the hotel but you have to move your car every 12 hours, alternatively the hotel itself has parking for $5 extra. Front desk was polite and helpful with directions and check in was quick. We didn't use the wifi so I can't comment on the quality of that. Our queen sized bed wasn't terribly comfortable but it was fine for one night. Overall it's a good place to stay if you just need a basic room.

This hotel is very basic, if all that you are looking for is a place to sleep where the beds are clean, that's what you'll get. The location is great for a night on the town in Banff. Having stayed here a few times, it's hit and miss depending on who else is staying, but soundproofing isn't great if there's a party crowd in, and with reception closed at around 10pm, you do just have to put up or shut up!!

Very cost effective and right in the middle of the village. Was there only for a night and it was quite nice!

Reasonably priced for being close to the free parking garage and lots of restaurants. Front desk is very friendly. But we found a piece of hair on the bed, and in-room coffee maker was very dirty. Luckily we had a mug, so we used the common microwave to heat water and made some tea. TV was kinda small, old and placed very high that my neck kinda hurt watching it. All in all, we were satisfied with the stay for the price we paid.

We stayed here just for a night to head up to Louise the next day. It was so clean and the girl at the front desk was so great to us! She found us a fridge and brought it to our room so we could store our food for the next day, and the hotel is so convienient to run to a pub for drinks or dinner. Will recommed this for sure!
