"Great vacation"

Beach was beautiful, food was great, service was perfect. Everyone at the resort was friendly. There was only few minor problems. We had mosquito in the room and it was hard to get rid of. And the shower booth was not in perfect condition. Looks like it was recently remodeled. but it was poorly constructed. I'm a bit clean freak so it might not bother most people. Overall it was good stay.

The staff and resort was absolutely Awesome! My significant and I enjoyed every day of our stay. The service the resort gives is nothing we ever experienced. Besides this being a romantic getaway, We were also there celebrating my birthday and the staff acknowledged my day in every way. Overall, We were very pleased and already have plans for returning next year.
We highly recommend this resort!!!!!

never been to jamacia or an all inclusive hotel, after staying at secrets i can say it was one of the nicest vacations weve ever had. only 10 minute cab drive to paradise from the airport. drinks and food were endless and awesome. hotel was clean, grounds were kept beautifully, waitstaff were friendly, room was plenty big and with an incredible view.

First night - No turn down service and No Bathrobe. No tissues in the dispenser on the vanity unit. The silicon in the bathroom was poorly done.
Apart from those minor details, the room (ocean-view junior suite) was spacious and clean. All the amenities one would expect except for the aforementioned missing bathrobe and tissues.
It would have been helpful to have all the light switches explained or labelled. There was one labelled 'privacy' which I gathered when switched on, illuminated a red light outside the room which indicated, 'Do not disturb' ??? but this didn't work so I think the weakest characteristic of my very brief stay is Housekeeping. Otherwise, a lovely hotel.

We had a fantastic time at Secret's St James for our honeymoon this December. The staff were really friendly, the cocktails were amazing (especially the 'Bob Marley'), and the choice of restaurants was great. The room was gorgeous with a great view of the sea and very comfy bed.
There are loads of pools, bars and jaccuzis all over the grounds that we found it very easy to find somewhere quiet to sit.
When we arrived in the room the toilet wasn't working properly, and we were a bit worried having read reviews that the hotel is too big and not very organised, but after a few calls to reception, suddenly there were 3 people in our room- one to fix the toilet, one to put up a 'honeymoon' banner on our door and run us a bath, and another to turn down the bed and place rose petals all around the room, so although it was a bit odd, it definitely made up for it.
The hotel is set within a gated complex, so is definitely very safe, but this meant that it was a bit far out, and the only way to get into town was with one of the hotel's taxis for $50 which we thought was a bit steep. Also, only the 'non-motorised' watersports were included and for the price it would have been nice to not have to pay extra for things like scuba diving. Having said that there was definitely loads going on within the hotel to keep us entertained, even on the rainy days.
We would recommend this hotel to anyone planning on visiting Montego Bay, as long as you aren't too fussed about seeing too much of the town itself.

My boyfriend and I went this month (July '10) and had a great time. Since it is a new hotel there were a few kinks to work out and right outside of the resort there's some construction. Our stay was excellent for a couple's resort.
However, I would have appreciated it more if I were a little older and engaged or married. Lots of older couples (we're 23). We did have opportunities to meet younger folks outside of the resort though and had a blast on all of our tours in Jamaica. If you're in your late 20's and older or you're looking for a romantic place to spend with your significant other, I highly recommend Secrets. The rooms are comfy/cozy and the decor was pleasing to the eye. We were greeted upon arrival with champagne (nice :) )
Also, I live in New York... city of diverse people and food choices. I've probably had almost every cuisine possible. Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed in the food at the resort with the exception of the tepanyaki (delicious!) Nothing was bad but each restaurant had few choices and I did not leave amazed. All of the desserts looked exactly the same and were not appetizing at all! I'm a tough critic though so try it for yourself. If you're not used to the food, you may enjoy it. I think it lacks some authenticity because of tourists. I'm sure others loved it.
Overall stars: 3.5 of 5
Pros: friendly staff, clean rooms and resort
Cons: draws older couples (con for a 23 year old), food is just okay, not much to see in walking distance (must travel)

Ett underbart hotell. Verkligen lyx utöver det vanliga vi europeér är vana vi. Man känner sig verkligen som en kung/drottning.
