We had a great stay. Location was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Despite the weather we enjoyed our stay very much.

An overnight stay. We had a room with a Balcony, great view, very Relaxing. We will stay there again in the future.

over al hotel was very gud.staff were lovly and helpful.we had 2 rooms,my parents had a beauiful large room while mine was smal wit floor un even and sinkin in places.also it was beside the kitchen which was loud late at nite and early in morning also there was a strong smel of food cooking.apart from this problem wit my room,we al enjoyed our stay.restaurant was very nice.starters and mains were great.desserts disapointin as they were brought in frozen gateaus.location beauiful on the beach.wil go again next yr

Enjoyed the brilliant veiws the friendliness of the people. The rooms are bright and clean and the food is good.

Loved being so close to ocean and walking to all the lovely restaurants and local sights. Staff were helpful and our room had a balcony with awesome ocean views

The room was very small the whole place needs a better lay out

This is a lovely small hotel in a most picturesque setting right beside the beach. The room was small but very well presented and with a sea view balcony. We stayed 2 nights and had all our meals there. The food was very good and although the restaurant was not open at this time of year the bar catered for all the diners with an all day bar menu and a full a la carte menu after 7pm. We really enjoyed the break and would love to return again in the future.

The web site does not mention that the price includes breakfast, it also does not mention that the hotel has free wifi which is a very important plus to a lot of guests. Just one little minus & that is that you are in the bar looking out at a lovely view tru very dirty windows. Regards Joe & Fran

The Strand is in the lower village of Dunmore East. Out of 4 days there, I swam in the guarded cove on 3 days. Used a wetsuit but there is no need. One length of the cove is approx. .15km so plenty of distance even if you are training. Up the hill toward Passage East gets you a great, scenic 10k run. The terrace is amazing. The pub is nice and the restaurant food was fine. A short walk to the upper village and you have 5 more pubs and a cafe, a restaurant and three grocers. I highly recommend it. Don't expect the Four Seasons but the room was clean, bright, amazing view, great shower. Really you could not ask for more.

The Stand Hotel, Dunmore East is a fantastic location for a break. This family owned hotel has a friendly, superb staff of which Cliff (the owner) sets the example. When we eventually found the reception desk (it was very busy that Friday evening) Cliff's greeting and welcome was just 'top class'. He took my wife's bags and personally conducted us to our room which overlooked the beautiful picturesque strand underneath our window. It is an old hotel but the rooms are clean and comfortable with all the facilities; tea/coffee/biscuits etc. Apart from it's superb location and friendly staff the best thing about the 'Strand' was it's absolutey superb restaurant with fantastic fresh fish dishes and an excellent wine menu. The bar menu is equally impressive and great value! It is a lovely spot and we would highly recommend it. Beware of the 'Ross-O'Carroll Kelly' types who were in abundance during our stay. However 'Well done' to the Foyle's and staff for making our stay so enjoyable.

Fabulous location with what must be the best sea views anywhere! A real inn feel with very friendly and helpful staff, great sefood served in the bar and restaurant.

Fab location. Staff very friendly. Room not with a view of the sea but a very spacious, restful room at the top of the building. Breakfast was lovely with brown bread and plenty of coffee served with a smile. Really enjoyed the stay and pity it was for only one night. Hope to return again. EG
