Pros: Hotel staff is very friendly, near Yosemite park entrance, good continental breakfast. Cons: Floor was quite noisy, I was worried on awaking my neighbours if I needed to walk to bathroom. No fridge nor microwave in the room. Also, room was not that clean...

Room was dirty and small and old and smelly. You will find hair in a few spots, from bed to bathtub. Hotel was very hard to find on GPS and no civilization around to ask for directions. You have to drive 20 minutes to find even a small dive to eat at. No wonder once you make reservation you cannot cancel or reduce your stay. Once you reserve for x days you have to stay ALL x days or you will be charged. If you want to ruin your vacation then this is the place to stay at.

The room was clean, there was some evidence of renovation. We had the river view room, and this was peaceful and relaxing. The front office staff were very helpful and willing to go the extra step to help a traveller. The wifi was not very good but we were told about this. Breakfast was included and gave a good start to the day. It is about a 40 minute drive from the valley but away from the crowds.

Probably the next best thing to staying inside the park at Yosemite. Very private comfortable room that has the feel of being out in the woods.

A great non-crowded place to stay just outside Yosemite Park, very quiet, very cozy

The riverside Inn was great. They allowed us to check in very late. The room was clean and warm. A great retreat for our week long visit to Yosemite. The Inn is located only 20 minutes from the front gate of Yosemite National Park, and the gate is another 30 minutes from the Yosemite Valley itself. No complaints at all. Checkout was a breeze.

We wanted to see Yosemite in a weekend and it was good to stay in this hotel after the first day and have a warm shower. However please keep in mind there are not much hotels or facilities around the Yosemite area (within one hour). So based on that this hotel is acceptable. However compared to hotels in Manteca or Oakdale, the quality is by far different. So adjust your expectations. Here, internet means a satellite internet with 200 MB cap for all the guests!! Which barely let's you check your email after 5 mins of waiting. Also apparently there is a mismatch between hotels.com and what the hotel says. It turned out that the sluggish super slow internet is not even free, and we had to pay $5. Also for the heating system, it's kind of weird, so maybe carry a portable space heater with you. We had a baby and the room was not warm enough as we expected. There were two heaters but we couldn't figure out how to turn them on. The staff later told us that one of them was not working and for the other one we had to open it and adjust the a thermostat inside. Well, I never dared to do that on my own without any directions! The positive side, the staff are warm and good. Also make sure you check in before 10pm as they will be closed afterwards. The area outside is calm and beautiful, we enjoyed seating on the benches facing the river and relaxing. Overall it was a good stay, and thanks to the staff for providing the service.

area was beautifull, motel was cean but towels were bad, need fistures aitained and fixed, missing kknobs on some apppliances, coffe pot did not wor well, pillows were nothing but shams, no soda in soda machine or did not wor no ice avaiabel not to comfortable stay but the area was beautifull

Clearly older but clean. Served it's purpose before a day in Yosemite.

Best in case you don't get any better place.

Very quite and cozy; but google GPS will take you 11 miles away from the real location if you don't read reservation email carefully.

Without proximity to Yosemite this place would cease to operate. Basic operation, lackadaisical everything, worst towels on the planet.

The hotel itself was charming, mainly due to location. The rooms were adequate for a night, especially because it is so close to Yosemite Valley. However, the check-in/check-out was difficult, to say the least. Check in has to be done between 2 and 9pm (which isn't terrible). However, I was only staying one night and got up to leave the next morning around 8am, but had no instruction on how to check out. The front desk (that you ring a doorbell to get to) had no one answering and there wasn't any clear indication of what to do in that case. I couldn't have been the first person to want to leave early in the morning. I left the key in the door and left a message about the situation. I haven't seen any repercussions, so apparently that was acceptable, but it was poor customer service. I would suggest staying a little further out.

Rustic, creek was a short walk from the room,nice but nearly dry in the fall.The room was stuck somewhere in time, 60's maybe. no phone reception, no food, had to drive to Groveland, 5or 6 miles to eat.

Very poor hotel.I don't know why the address says Groveland. The hotel is located approx. 11 miles away from the entrance sign to Groveland, and is very hard to find. Mind that there is no AT&T reception there no GPS.

Horrible. First of all, the GPS misguides us 11 miles away from the motel into the wilderness/ middle of nowhere in the dark. The hotel implies that a lot of people has been tricked already but never bothered to take more initiative in reminding people of this problem, such as sending customers an e-mail before day of stay. When we finally made it to the hotel the staff made it sound as if it was all our fault. Then they told us there was no more breakfast even though it stated so on the booking confirmation. All with an uncaring attitude. I would NOT ever stay here again.

Good price for the area. No reason not to stay here unless you want a five star luxury hotel.

This place was clean, and the staff was friendly, but the beds were NOT comfortable. Plus they are too small, they need to upgrade to queen sized beds. The lighting fixtures were not secured to the wall, so maintenance needs to be improved. The hotel is only 12 miles from the North gate, but that still leaves a total of a 45 minute drive to Yosemite valley.

It was comfortable, however, there was a lack of phone, remote for TV, no plug in sink. Linens clean. Somewhat overpriced for amenities, must be the location. close to Yosemite that increased the price.

beautiful setting. Room was adequate for a place to sleep while visiting )osemite.

It's located 14 miles east of Groveland. We had a little challenge finding it because we had no phone number and the map on our confirmation was no help. However once we found it, the location was perfect for getting to Yosemite first thing in the AM. we had to go back up the road 3 miles to Buck Meadows for dinner at a good homestyle restaurant. Breakfast at the Inn was fine.

I will never stay there again, no would I recommend it to a friend.

It was a good basic place to stay, and as it was peak season was expensive in comparison to other places we'd stayed elsewhere. The cabin was comfortable with a shared fridge on the balcony to store food. The staff were helpful. A good basic no frills base camp to explore the park.

Hotel was a great location and right on a quiet, peaceful creek. Near Groveland with lots of choices for meals. Continental breakfast came with stay but they were not very prompt with opening for breakfast... supposed to be 7:30 a.m.... we left at 7:45 and still not open. Others left too.

The hotel is dated, but it is in a lovely, quiet location a short distance to the park entrance. Parking close to the room is a challenge, but they provide plenty of wagons to help transport items between your car and room. Breakfast was not served until 7:30, and we left earlier so could not rate it. Also, there are no facilities close by. be sure to eat in the village if visiting the park before returning to the hotel

It was in a fairly good location for our visit to Yosemite and the cost was much less than staying in the park. The staff was very friendly and helpful with some of our vacation questions of the area,which was on the nice nature side. We have stayed in places that were cleaner and not as costly, but they were not in the Yosemite area! The continental breakfast was alright, although limited in selection and rather a small area in which to eat. Overall, it was a convenient place for us to stay.

If you only need a bed & a shower & plan on spending all your time in the park, this is a good place to stay. Twenty minutes to the entrance & convenient for both the northern & the valley road. This ain't the Ritz, but it's cheap & clean. Very basic accomidations.

My only complain is the direction going towards the hotel, there should have been a big sign on road that should lead us towards the hotel. We totally miss our turn since we were looking for the town itself. Otherwise the hotel is really nice,clean and very relaxing.

Comfortable room and friendly staff but the room had a strong odor of cleaning solution. There was a cracked window.

Room was fine - very country.

This is a very basic motel/cabin. The rooms look very dingy and old, bathrooms are very small. Don't expect any luxury or conveniences, it is perfect location if you need a place to sleep before going to Yosemite park. It is a bit hard to find, you might miss it on the way on route 120. Don't check in very late, there is not a lot of lights in the property so it's pitch dark. Bring a flash light.

It. Met our needs as a transit stop before getting to the valley early in the morning. Very helpful staff.

Nice, wooded surroundings with a stream (not river) behind some of the lodges. Nice place overall\, but a few specifics to be aware of: Breakfast was typical continental, nothing special. Room had a window unit ac; room was hot when we got there and took several hours to get cooled down. Many of the rooms do not have parking in front; we had to lug our luggage across gravel to get it to our room, could not be rolled. The owner/mgr was in the office late, so it was nice that she was waiting when we got there at 9pm.

For the purpose of letting us be as close to Yosemite - it was OK. This is a simple lodging. Don't expect anything else.

It was easy and convenient location. Only 15 minutes from the gate. They had not problem with our late check in and friendly staff showed us where our room is. Room was spacious and clean. Just all you to crash after a hike and then wake up early and leave.

Room was like staying in a well furnished cabin. We enjoyed it. Had thought we were actually booking inside Yosemite park so it was a little of a let down. Also, the hotel would have no control over this but the well water smelled very strong of sulfur and we did not like that.

We were at Yosemite Riverside Inn for two nights. Got in fairly late on a Tuesday night in search of food. Janette at the desk directed us to the Iron Door Saloon in Groveland. Kitchen had closed by the time we got there but we liked the place so much we went back the next night for dinner. It was GREAT!! The Inn was very quiet and peaceful, rooms were neat and clean. About a 45 minute from the park but a beautiful ride along the way!
