Nice Hotel with decent location, room was modern, clean and as usual in all Hong Kong VERY SMALL room; specially the bathroom…. it was SUPER SMALL!

Are the rooms small? You bet. But they make great use of the space, are very modern, and the location and price are pretty great if you want to be in the middle of things on Hong Kong Island. It's hard to go wrong here, in my opinion.

The hotel was very nice, clean and the proper price. One complaint I have though would be the awkward bathroom in the two-bedroom room. The toilet and shower are behind a clear glass door and this can be a little awkward if you're traveling with a friend.

I was very satisfied with this hotel room. The hotel itself has limited services (ie no gym or pool) but has great rooms.

Excellent location. Near shopping facilities and trams. Staff speaks excellent english. Wifi is stable and has computers available for usage in lobby.

Stayed for 5 nights at this hotel, deluxe room. It was slightly difficult to locate - ask for directions with the conceirge at Times Square. Nearest MRT is Causeway Bay. Remember to buy an Octopus card! The one locals use; its more reasonable compared to the ones for tourists. There are many popular eateries around the corner frequented by the locals. Stop by the dessert, sashimi and ramen shop - you cant miss it from the long queue! Nearby - Ocean park is only a bus stop away. Once out of hotel, turn left and walk towards cross junction. Cross diagonally and take any bus outside the Happy Valley Racecourse. Visit the racecourse for a unique experience! Only open on Wed evenings and Sunday mornings. Cab to anywhere in the city. We did to Madame Tussauds and it was fast (15mins) and cheap I must say. The receptionist was very helpful and conversed well in English. Throughout the stay, they provided us timely - quilts, fruit knives, ironing board. They gave very good suggestions for famous eateries nearby too! Just ask! Gosh I love my bed. It was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept and is definitely comparable to the extra-plushy ones in 5-star hotels. The linen is soft and made for very sound sleep everynight. Walls are not thin at all. I know many are complaining about the size of the bathroom, but my boyfriend and I find it okay -maybe because we are not as big built.. And the rain shower rocks. The onyl downside? It was 12 degrees outside and the hotel does not have a warmer! We had to shiver for a while before the bed warmed up. And it was so difficult to decide whether to bathe. Overall I find the hotel very homely and clean and would definitely return the next time I am in HK!

Pros: very central, easy to access all areas of Hong Kong island, good value for money, free internet Cons: no cafe or coffee shops nearby so it was hard getting a on-the-go / Western style breakfast and coffee. There were a couple of Hong Kong restaurants serving breakfast in the vicinity though. My non-smoking room smelled of smoke initially and was quite nasty. However, the smell cleared up in the evening and sleep was quite pleasant.

very thin wall,you can hear next room talk.Can be very cold in the winter due to no heating system in the hotel.

Everything was great except that the toilet door has wide part of transparent glass. And the door doesn't block any 'sound' nor the smell @@ If you are going to stay with your collegues, you'd better consider this 'cause it bothered me and my collegues a lot.

The hotel has a great location, walking distance to times square, the metro and the night life area. you can find a market just behind the hotel and local food restaurants. The room was comfortable and clean. Nice and clean shower.

The rooms are Hong Kong tiny but stylish. SOme have excellent views. Again, more character than the chain hotels, but hardly a boutique. Pleasant and efficient staff. Good location for walking ot Causeway Bay area and a it up the hill toward Happy Valley, so not in the think of traffic (though it is close to the flyovers and interchanges, so traffic noise may be an issue on lower floors. A hike to the MTR. Reasonably priced by HK standards. Butterfly's other location on Wellington Road is more interesting as a hotel and in terms of neighborhood. Larger rooms, usually comparable prices.

Had a short but great stay at the butterfly. Was given a room near the lift but I changed it to a much better room. Spacious enough for a hong kong hotel. Hotel staffs are very friendly and helpful. There is a fantastic fruit store near the hotel too. Able to grab most of the fruits I like.

Butterfly on Morrison is very conveniently located near all kinds of local eateries, a public wet market, and walking distance to Time Square and Causeway Bay shopping areas. Airport bus stop is about 4 blocks away, and a large # of bus routes, the tram, and subway run right in front or a few blocks away. The hotel's design is modern and room layout is unique. The room (Deluxe double) is not large, by U. S. standards, but feels plenty roomy because of the half oval layout. Views from our upper floor room is lovely, one side looks towards Victoria Peak and the high rises of Central. There's even a sliver of the harbor visible between buildings from the other side. Other nice amenities we appreciate: strong water pressure, thick bath sheets, thick curtains to block out light. We will stay at this hotel again the next time we visit Hong Kong and will recommend it to friends and family.

very cosy and concept design - great open windows

Ok, firstly, i am writing this review from room 803 in the Butterfly on Morrison, Hong Kong. So, firstly the good things; 1) The staff are excellent. Really top notch, helpful and friendly. 2) The hotel is well located and a 5 min walk through a cool market to Causeway Bay MTR. 3) It's modern, clean and everything works. Nice furnishings 4) Free wi fi internet throughout the hotel for the duration of your stay. Brilliant. Why 5* hotels make people pay for Wi Fi is beyond me and pretty appalling actually. Bad 1) No restaurant. Not the biggest problem but when i'm in Asia, i do want to have a western breakfast in the morning, especially when in Asia for business. Ending up going to the flying pan most mornings. 2) It's noisy. You are in the city so to be expected, but the noise of traffic on the 8th floor is pretty bad. The higher up you are the better the noise problem will be. 3) My room was located opposite the lift and it bings a couple of times every time it arrives on the floor, which was annoying. Hotel is quite narrow so most rooms might have this problem. 4) The biggest problem was that every time the room next to mine turned on a tap, flushed the loo or had a shower, it felt like they were in my bathroom. It was very loud. 5) No bar or lobby area. After a long day of meetings or at trade show i like to come back to my hotel and sit in a comfy lounge chair, have a beer and review the days work. Can't do that in this hotel. They do have a couple of computers near reception you can use but you sit on stools to use it. Summary Well, it's a nice, modern and clean hotel with fantastic staff. But i wouldn't stay here again. I want to have breakfast in the morning, i want a lobby area with a bar when i get back after a days work and i don't want the noise issues i had. Room Tip: The higher the floor you stay on the less you will be effected by traffic noise. You also don't want a room opposite the elevator/lift.

Overall the Butterfly on Morrision was fine. But problems were encountered at check in. I had made the booking for my husband but I had not realised it was in my name and not his. He encountered a lot of frustration trying to explain the situation and to finally be allocated a room. He had offered reasonable ways to work around the problem but the hotel seemed quite uncompromising. This situation cannot be unusual as when he checked out he saw another person struggling with the same problem. After a long tiring flight and at night this is not good introduction. The location of the hotel was situated between 2 stations which required a reasonable walk to both of them. Overall the hotel was fine (apart from the difficulty at check in). Location was acceptable for the convention centre and MTR but next time it would be preferable to stay closer to the convention centre or to a MTR station.

Arrived around noon to check-in and requested a higher floor. They informed us that it wouldn't be available until 2pm so we walked around town in the meantime. When we got back at 2, we were sent to a room with two single beds instead of a double bed. Had to go back to the lobby (3rd floor) and they apologized for the mistake and gave us an upgrade to a deluxe room, which was much more roomier. Requested extra towels the first night and it never came. Carpet was in decent shape but underneath the bed you could tell that it was pretty dirty. Location of the hotel is excellent with nearby subway station and easy access to Times Square. Hotel now offers wi-fi as well in the rooms.

The room size is very small. However, the location is excellent and the staff are very helpful.

This is my second time at this hotel. Great location, nice room design, friendly staff, etc. This time I was given a room with a bathroom half the size as the one I had last time. It was very cramped but didn't detract too much from my stay. I'll probably stay here again unless I can get something comparable that has a gym.

I like the room. Nice decor. Lots of space. Location is great: the Metro station at Times Square is a couple of short blocks away. That makes it easy to get to and from the airport via the Metro if you're traveling light. Starbucks is a 2 minute walk away (the one in Times Square is even closer). I am going to stay here again next month.

This is quite a new hotel. Rooms have a trendy decor. Very suitable for couples not so for families. Nearest MTR station access is at Times Square. Food is just short walk around.

This is a great little hotel. The rooms aren't huge, but they make good use of the space and I had an amazing view from my room on the 12th floor into Happy Valley stadium. Staff were very friendly and rooms were clean, well equipped and nicely decorated. It was also really useful having complimentary internet access. All in all it was a great stay!

Hotel has excellent staffs. They are very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately the superior room has a very small bathroom basin, so it was very difficult to wash your hands or brush your teeth. Even with that, I still recommend anyone for this hotel (the price and hotel staffs)

The hotel is great....great location near times sq, MTR and a busy local market. One warning....the walls of the hotel are very thin. I could hear guest in the other room bathing. I had a room on the 6th flr.

Thorouhly enjoyed my stay at the Butterfly, reception staff very helpful, rooms very homely with good bathrooms. Great views. Restaurants, bars, market area and even a laundry close bye

Overall great location & very nice good size( for Hong Kong) rooms. Only thing i didn't like where the pillows to soft for me.

I have stayed at Butterlfy on Wellington and butterfly on morrison. I found the former a lot more conveniently located to central HK (right smack in the heart of it) than Morrison is to the heart of the causeway bay shopping zone/ mtr. Morrison is a good 15 mins walks to times square. However the biggest minus point for me about Morrison is the design of the deluxe room. The toilet does not have enough space for two persons' toiletries, and it had glass doors leaving very little privacy for those needing to use the toilet. The aircond was also either too cold or not cold enough. Overall a very average room and I will stay in Wellington the next time I am in HK.

great place, very close to times square subway station, shopping and food/market. great service by hotel staff, and provides plenty of toiletries and towels

Cleanliness room and Comfort but location not near MTR

Really like the design and details of the room. Room was not small or maybe the layout was just perfect that it felt roomy. Very friendly staff.

The overall feeling from the hotel is very good. The price was ok, the location good, although a 5 min tram ride to the center of Hong Kong island - Bank of China building and from there 5 min to Central Pier for the ferries. There is also a 5-8 min walk to a MTR station (metro) for visiting Kowloon for all shopping districts. Staff where polite and helpful. The only downside (maybe) is that there is no bar/caff and the internet is just at the reception floor. Overall experience from this hotel is good.

I stayed here 3 nights in July having stayed the previous month at Butterfly on Prat in TST. It's just as nice at the TST one. My room was a bit smaller, though I had a twin rather than a double and that might have something to do with it. The room itself was comfortable, with lovely big windows and a view up over the racecourse at Happy Valley to the green hills behind. Much better than the view in TST! Free cable internet in the room and 2 bottles of water each day. Location wise, Prat is better because that hotel is closer to the MTR. But from Morrison to the tram is a short and direct walk, and to the MTR at Times Sq in Causeway Bay it is also relatively close. It's easy to get lost the first time but once you know the way it is very simple. Staff at this hotel were helpful, though we hardly interacted. My stay was prepaid so checkin and out was extremely fast. No complaints at all and I would certainly stay here again. In future I'd probably go for Prat over Morrison only because Causeway Bay is a little further from the things I normally like to do in HK. But this hotel is great.

The rooms are small, but very efficiently designed, clean, and comfortable. Hotel staff is excellent, and the location is conveniently close to shopping and public transit. I would definitely stay there again.

Room was too small.

Brilliant Stay, Lovely room. Was quiet and relaxing but right in the hub of the city. Only slight criticism was the staff's english was not very good.

We initially booked a standard room, but upon checkin realised the room was TINY. Too small to stay for 5 nights so we upgraded to a deluxe room, which is decent in size and had views of the racecourse. The staff there are great! Very Helpful and Friendly. When we complained about the small room they offered to show us the deluxe suite straight away before committing to upgrading. I would highly recommend the deluxe over the standard. (The standard room was so small the bed was up against the wall). The location of the hotel is not so convenient if you want to get to the nearest MTR (Causeway bay) But super close to Times square for shopping/eating. Only a 5-10min walk. Taxi's are always around too if need be outside you can wave one down or walk down to South Pacific Hotel down the road (Handy to take the hotel business card with you, as many taxi drivers don't know where it is). The hotel is right in front of a taxi stand so they tend to drop you off at South Pacific instead. They also have umbrellas for you to use for free - super handy when it's Typhoon season! I would recommend this hotel, but only if you are wanting to explore the area by foot/taxi.

The lights are dim and the sink is not properly sealed to the table resulted in water leakage. Location is not convenience for transport to airport as there is no parking lot for the bus/taxi, so have to walk a distance to wait for the airport transport bus.

The Butterfly can be hard to locate for taxis, so bring a map and pay attention along the way. Essentially it is on the eastern side of Morrison Hotel, on the left when going up the hill. The lobby is a minimilistic concierge/door-man and 2 elevators up. Check-in is on an upper floor. It is a tall, narrow buidling with great views of the cricket field, race track and Hong Kong from many directions. I loved the views. The rooms are smallish, typical of HK, but quite ergonomic. The modern bath was a treat. It is a reasonable walk down to the Times Square shopping mall that has some higher end restaurants on the upper floors. It is a further walk down the hill towards the main drag of bars/restaurants that are infamous in Wan Chai (Hennessy/Lockhart). One of the nearer MTR metro stops is located down there along Hennessy. Most people may prefer a short taxi to get there. I would willingly be a repeat customer for the price, location and view. There is no room service, but plenty to eat outside and near a market for fresh fruit.

Nice boutique hotel in a busy area near Causeway Bay. Lots of food and shopping around. A little noisy at night. We had a Deluxe double room. Still a bit on the small side but well-appointed. Only drawback is slow elevators and the smell of smoke coming through the ventilation system one night made it difficult to sleep.

Butterfly on Morrison Hill is a good value for the location and what you get. The service is polite and professional, the rooms very clean. The location is convenient, as well. The Wan Chai underground station is 5-7 minutes away by foot. Service was prompt and courteous.
