This isn't the nicest place around but it offers fair prices and a comfortable stay. All my immediate needs were met and the husband and wife running it were very nice and helpful. The only downfall was I felt as if the shower wasn't as clean as it should be and the only coffee filter they provided was dirty. Other than these two details the room and surrounding area was simple, clean, and overall well kept. I'd come back!

If you want an upscale, modern hotel, this is not the place for you. We found the location for our purposes to be satisfactory. It was a very quiet location set in the woods outside the quaint village of Twain Harte. There were several restaurants close by but not within easy walking distance. You could walk but it would be a hike. There is a pool and spa but, as they are located outdoors, it was not an appropriate time of year to use them. The room was very clean and had obviously been recently renovated with fresh paint. The bathrooms were outfitted with newer facilities--toilet, vanity and shower. Our only negative were the beds. The linens, pillows and coverings were clean and fresh and appeared to be quite new. However, the mattresses were not of the best quality and were not very comfortable. If we were to travel in the area again, we would probably stay there again.

The service was bad and the bathroom dirty. It is too far away from the national park.

This is a great place to stay when it gets late & you don't feel like driving home. Close to Pinecrest and Black Oak Casino

The motel is older and definitely not high end. However, the bedding, towels and room were very clean. The bed was comfortable. There is free WiFi in the room. The air conditioner was the most annoying thing -- too noisy to keep on at night.

I was slightly worried by the other reviews for this place, but booked it for two nights anyway. I was positively surprised. Not only was the staff very friendly and willing to help, I also found the room to be quite nice and clean. It had nice furniture, and in addition to a small table with a chair, my room had a comfortable armchair in it. There also was a fridge, microwave oven and a coffee maker in the room. The main drawback was the bathroom, which just appeared old and rundown. It seemed to be clean, but there were non-removable stains on the floor and the appliances. About the location: Twain Harte is a beautiful small town located in the forest. You can reach a number of restaurants and a seven up store within like five minutes of walking distance from the motel. I stayed in Twain Harte to go hiking in Yosemite, and it worked quite well. It is a two hour drive however if you want to get to the center of Yosemite. It wasn't a problem for me and there are many other great outdoor places closer to Twain Harte, but keep that in mind if you are planning to visit Yosemite from here. I can clearly recommend this place, even for longer stays. Only if a modern bathroom is important for you, you should look for something else (until the new management manages to renovate those).

CLOSE TO CHARMING VILLAGE

We stayed here on our way to Yosemite since staying in the park is VERY expensive & you have to book a long time in advance. The room and bathroom was large and clean. We were in room 2, very close to the road, and it was quiet.. But, since it was a distance from the office, we didn't have an internet signal. Pool has small spa, not real hot but heated. Owners were nice.

I've stayed in some interesting places in my travels. I would rank this among the least favorable. For one the room rate was much greater than the accommodations provided would justify. Lumpy beds, no phone, no Internet connectivity, sticky bathroom floor, no shampoo provided, did not make up room are all some of the attributes of this stay. A list of what a visitor would pay for damages to beddings, towels, etc. was posted next to the door. There are other nice looking accommodations near by including a B&B just down the road. Better to shop around.
