Hotel Chez Swann - مونتريال

Only issues I had were the pillows were quite hard, and the TV was mounted to the wall and not really watchable from the bed (there was no other seating area). Bathroom/ shower facilities were great, location and service was great and it is small so very little interior hotel noise.

The parking is'nt easy to reach.The room is'nt that clean and could be repaired (bathroom). The carpet on the floor was'nt clean.

It's truly a lovely hotel with exceptional service. However, my room was on the second floor facing the alley. The alley where the adjoining restaurant keeps it's garbage. Well into the late night/early morning staff were going out to dump garbage, smoke, etc. Made it very difficult to sleep. If you get a choice, ask for a room that does not face the alley.

Absolutely no complaints about it. Great rooms, awesome bathrooms, comfortable beds. I was in room 303 and really have nothing bad to say about it. I don't know if I would pay the full price but with discount on hotels.com it was definitely worth it. I would definitely stay there again.

The location is perfect, the restaurant downstairs is excellent the problem is the hotel, maybe if you are 25 years old or less you might enjoy this place more than us. They miss the basic of hotel service like regulate the temperature in your room ( way to hot and there is nothing you can do about it) no mini fridge for keeping some cold water or else, no kettle if you want to make some tea etc... Also I don't know if they had a service done for the entire hotel but the smell was awful. Basically not for us and I suspected a lot of good reviews come from the staff or the owner!

Everything was wonderful with the exception of a sewer type smell that hit us in the face whenever we came in the room. We opened the windows, but this would not work if the temperature was below freezing.

Good hotel, good service. the room we stayed in (3rd floor) had this beautiful sky window, i guess you can call it that?!. romantic at night but if way too bright during the day. not a good thing if your planning on sleeping in.

Staff were professional and helpful. When I arrived, a couple registering in front of me seemed to be in a peculiar credit card situation and the receptionist was as patient and helpful as could be. I had stayed there before and the room was comfortable and clean-- full valued for the hotel.com rate, although I feel that the rack rate was excessive. The exterior is unprepossessing, especially compared to the nearby Mount Stephen building, and the hotel.com sheet referred to a city view, but it was more like a view of a parking lot-- however, the interior is dynamic and up to date, while still being cosy. Breakfast in the nearby café, which can be entered directly from the lobby, was continental but fine.

Love the atmosphere (boutique type of hotel) staff was friendly small quiet hotel would def book this place again when we head back -love the super sized bathroom & shower stall

Best location, close to shopping on St. Catherine's St., 3 blocks from the Bell Centre and nightlife on Crescent St. Staff were very friendly, breakfast was good (bread & pastries, coffee/tea, juice, cereal, yogurt, fruit on some days), the room was large and has very modern decor (the shower wall is a window that looks into the bedroom!), bed was comfortable, WIFI worked without issues, the bathroom was spacious and shower had good pressure, only reason I didn't rate the cleanliness higher was that when we checked in, there were some glass shards on the bathroom floor, and the corners of the shower needed a scrubbing, other than that everything was perfect.

This was a beautiful hotel and great location! I will definitely stay here again.

The room was so clean when we first got there, and everytime we got back after a day on the town! The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was spacious and luxurious, and we loved the window to the shower, and the multiple shower nozzles. Loved. The employees were all so nice and helpful, and we talked to one of them for a bit. It was an amazing stay, and the perfect location. Right downtown! We couldn't ask for a better hotel. And the soaps and shampoos smelt divine!

The hotel is small yet stylish and trendy. Day time manager was a little snooty otherwise was in a great location. The room was excellent great king bed LOVE the double shower.

Best hotel for the price ive ever stayed in.. Saved over 100$ a night perfect location next to sheraton great rooms very clean and friendly.. No ice machine was only negative would stay again

Went away for 3 days this past week. It was a great stay hotel is in a prime location, great look, great overall experience. Would recommend to everyone.

Wonderful boutique hotel! My husband and I enjoyed the stay very much - the hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel is within walking distance of several shops (boutique and chain stores) and restaurants. Underground Montreal isn't too far away either. The room was clean, and the best part was the dual shower (which is why I'd say it's good for couples!). Complimentary wifi is available. There is no room service, although there is a full-service restaurant adjoining the hotel. Taxi service is easy to get, since the hotel is so well located. The noise level during our stay was normal. Sometimes we could hear some guests in the hallway laughing loud, but nothing to the point where we were disturbed by it. I would say if you're looking for something a little different, give this place a try!

very clean hotel....staff was friendly and helpful...rooms were big and loved the decor....only complaint would be the complimentary breakfast. i would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Okay but noisy

the big problem with this hotel is the noise! It is located in an area with lots of noise in a way that you cannot sleep even till 2 am!

It is a gorgeous hotel that is walking distance from practically everything. The room was modern and clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Great all over experience. Staff were very helpful, room was attractive, the bathroom immense. When we compained about the noise from music from the restaurant, they resoved the problem. Site was conveniently near the subway entrance. Concerned about the steps leading from the sleeping area to the bathroom, so we left on the step lights, and that was OK. Recommend this hotel very highly, and send thaks to the front desk clerks. Sorry it took so long to respond!

Overall, we had an ok 1 night stay. Its just a small boutique hotel. The room was very comfortable and loved some of the funky decor especially the shower and was in a great location, but the hotel did lack some very basic amenities. For example, the room had no fridge and there was no room service. Being an old building, the floors were very loud, and we could hear people walking around upstairs and besides us. The free breakfast was very small and limited, but actually quite nice. Considering the price, I would rather stay in a larger hotel nearby.

We really liked the hotel location - so close to St Catherine and many restaurants, clubs and pubs. The staff was phenomenal and accommodating. Very clean, comfortable and spacious - bathroom was huge!! We only had 2 issues but odds of someone else experiencing are low. One morning (7am) we were woken up by a large machine knocking down the building next door. Our beds were literally shaking with every loud boom. The staff was just as appalled as we were but not something they really had control over. Other than that one morning, the other days were very quiet. Second problem was the A/C unit starting pouring water out and became unusable for the last night. No other rooms available to accommodate us and the window was not able to be opened so it was a bit warm/stuffy in the room. But staff responded quickly and tried to help as best they could. The staff overall was excellent. Would definitley stay here again.

To much noice coming from retaurant until 11hres.Somebody left the room temperature to 79f before me...Was very very hot...Nice room, confortable bed. Tub would be nice. Nice breakfast in the morning.

The hotel was actually great. The service upon arrival was friendly and quick. The room was spacious and everything in the room, technology wise was up to date. This seemed more as a romantic getaway hotel since the bathroom had a see thru window. Other than that location is perfect close to the metro and parking wise, the structure was a block away but offer a discount. Overall my experience was great!

The Staff were incredibly helpful and polite. Upon my arrival there was a Christmas Party being hosted in the restaurant below and the Staff member took it upon himself to change my room so that i would not be bothered by the noise below. I thought that was a kind gesture and they were always very friendly and cooperative!! I would definitely stay at the Chez Swann again!! The only thing would be to remind the cleaning staff to ensure the close doors behind them. I was fortunate that i did not lose anything but it was an honest mistake immediately addressed by the Chez Swann staff!!

My fiance and I just returned from Montreal, where we spent three nights at Hotel Chez Swann. The primary highlight of this hotel is how great the front desk staff are. On our first night the music from the restaurant downstairs was loud in our room so they changed our room, after asking the restaurant to lower the music to little avail. The next day the manager said he was going to speak with the restaurant, so hopefully that will not continue. Additionally, they had suggestions for restaurants and activities. The decor is funky, the double shower is a neat feature, although on one of the two we couldn't adjust the temperature control, the location is central and within two blocks of the metro, and although in our second room our window only looked into the foyer, the room was very quiet. Who goes to Montreal to look out the window anyway? We also enjoyed the breakfast each morning, which was a nice selection of fruit, cereal, pastries, yogurt and juice. It was just right to get us going and allow us to enjoy the truly wonderful restaurants the city has to offer. A big thank you to the staff, they made our stay quite pleasant and enjoyable.

This is a terrific boutique hotel. The interior design features are wonderful. Room is adequate in size. Bathroom is a "10". Restaurant downstairs serves excellent food. Service was attentive. Location is wonderful..walk to restaurants, shopping, McGill, metro etc etc. Our only complaint was some noise in the hallways at about 3 or 4 a.m. Room was quiet, no noise from other rooms, but the hallway noise was noticeable. WE WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN WITHOUT A DOUBT.

Was initially put off by the name. It turns out it was excellent. Free WiFi and continental breakfast included. No charge for long distance calling in Canada. Room was lovely, particularly the bathroom. King size bed was very comfortable. No complaints.

Close to a nightclub. Music and Bass rattled the room until 3am on a Monday night.

Great Location and Friendly Staff. Definitely would stay here again.

The decor was great, the room was immaculate and the customer service was second to none, all at an amazing price. We loved it.

great time great location cool room, our was a little small but we stayed a week and we should have booked a jr suite, great place

greatl looking hotel...room decor was reallly unique....also unique...was that the room was missing a coffee maker...and parking. It was very inconvenient in inclement weather to have to walk outdoors half a block to get things to and from the car. walls and floors were a bit thin. could quite plainly hear the people above us walking about and heard every conversation of those heading past our door to the elevators. also for some reason the doors shut heavily and we were woken by the slamming quite early in the morning when guests didn't know or didn't care that the doors should be softly pulled closed instead.

Great hotel, great location. My only complaint was that you can hear music from the downstairs restarant and people in the corridor.

This is a perfect hotel for anybody looking to be right in the heart of downtown. Very close to shopping, all sorts of food, and with easy access to the metro. The room was very clean, the floors were just a bit creaky. The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful and always willing to give advice or point guests in the right direction. The only thing that would have been nice would have been a coffee maker for in the morning. The showers in the room were excellent though! I would stay here again!
