OK, get the obvious out of the way first, the rooms are small, basically a bed, small counter and bathroom, not a lot of floorspace and nowhere to put your luggage. BUT, its just out of the centre of Singapore, right in the middle of Chinatown, close to MRT, and has very reasonable rates. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, staff friendly and helpful so living with the room being a bit cramped was worth it for getting a bargain in this location.

have stayed here many times for its convenience

It was an acceptable hotel for an overnight stay, right in the middle of China town and very close to transport. The room and especially the bathroom were very clean. If you take into account the price and the fact this hotel can be used as an overnight stop over, you can over come the fact that the rooms are small,but you are there simply to sleep.

Decent room, very unique concept. Room is small but cosy, bed is comfy.

it's very close to Chinatown station.. the room is a bit small but everything was ok except the linen wasn't very clean.

The hotel is clean and the staff are very friendly. It is in a great location for the MRT and there are lots of good eating places in the area. If you are looking for large rooms then you will be disappointed but I had just come back from Japan so I was attuned to efficient use of space. I will definitely stop there next time.

The hotel is cool sheik dark and artsy located right next to the MRT in Chinatown. But I felt claustrophobic in the rooms, and we tried three. They finally upgraded us to a "larger" room with a "window". I've never seen a room as small as the standard. Only space is under the bed for luggage. Like a matchbox. You could call it cozy but it just freaked me out. But even the larger room was the smallest I've ever been in after the porcelain standard room. I think the white decor (versus the blue and black of the standard) helped with the illusion it was bigger. Everything was great except the room size and lack of pool.

Great location. The room was comfortable but small and windowless. We would probably stay here again

Great location.Small room, but large bathroom. We were not on the roadside (always a good idea), so it was very quiet at night.

This was the smallest room I've ever had in my 65 years of traveling. Now it was cheap and actually comfortable...but I've never seen anything quite so tiny. I have to admit that it was functional and a great neighborhood and actually comfortable...and the price was right...or about the best in Singapore of the Hotels.com listings. Wifi worked great and was free.

The space was very insufficient. At times, I felt claustrophobic, though I had never been a claustrophobic. Lobby, corridors and most of the rooms were dark and gloomy like graves.

The location is good. Close to metro and good connections to other parts of the city. The room was tiny and it was the best room they had. The room was extremely humid. The bed felt moldy and moist to the point that the passports were almost ruined. Some visa stamps fell out due to humidity. The smell in the room was moldy. AC was running but the humidity remained. I would not stay there again.

i have stayed in this hotel before and again and did not find much difference in the rooms of different grade.. so you are better off taking the cheapest one and don't waste money thinking you will get a better one..

The room was very small and no windows, nowhere to hang clothes and no place to put your bags. Bathroom is good size. Very close to SMRT.

ok. BUT, I and a friend stayed at Porcelaine Mosque road , singapore 11/26/12 to 11/29/12. The hotel put a charge of Singapore $300 on my card when I checked in. The amount was to cover any international calls I may take. We took no international calls during our stay. It is now 12/2/12 and the the charge still appears on my card.

My partner & I would defiantly stay again. They upgraded our room, & paperwork was quick, the hotel in general was clean. Location in the heart of chinatown & trains

Surprisingly good for the price I paid.. Concierge offered to upgrade my room without questions asked.. Grateful for that..

Great location, rooms are too small and dark. Housekeeping very poor. Maintenance group doing aircon cleaning was very noisy and keep bangging the door of each room to check if guest are inside.

Used this hotel at both ends of a transit trip. Room was tiny on the first occasion; however, upon request on the second occasion, I was given a bigger room with more "turning space". Overall this hotel is OK for a very short stay, and the location can't be faulted.

not worth it .. Singapore is too expensive and hotels greedy..got a bed and small coridor as a room .. and paid too much for that trash....well most hotel in singapore are like that...if you want a decent stay nothing is less than 200 dollars.....next time will try avoid Singapore.... as for the same amount in Kuala lumpure you can get to stay in a 5 star hotel.....the hotel was so rude did not even give me a 30 extension for a late checkout in-spite of me checking in at 11 pm

This hotel is marketed towards travelers who do not require many of the extra amenities of a larger hotel like a larger room, VOD, space, swimming pool, a closet or dresser, a working refrigerator, and in some rooms, a window. Initially, the room they put me in had no windows but I asked for a room change and they were nice enough to accommodate. I would not book this room I'd was looking for a room to stay in during my entire trip in Singapore. This hotel is conveniently located in Chinatown, very near to the Chinatown metro station and a cheap cab ride away from the Marina Sands casino.

Great location, nicely refurbished old building in Chinatown with charming motif. I was upgraded to the "executive suite," which was perfectly adequate for anyone used to Asian accommodation. This leads me to believe the normal rooms are painfully small, as does the line of people complaining about it in the lobby. Worse, the hotel seems to be having problems with the electronic locks on its doors, so when you return to your room, you spend several minutes with the staff using special equipment to regain access to your room. They need to work out the kinks -- and lower their rates. This is true of all Singapore hotels. No value for money.

The hotel is a place to sleep. The rooms are small which is fine, but they are dark, which means it is an uncomfortable place to be when you are not sleeping. The surrounding neighborhood and general area is fine.

This hotel is dreadful. My superior double room was a joke. No wardrobe, no safe. Black decor so the room was dark even with the lights on. No windows. Claustrophobic. No space. I was travelling alone - with 2 this would have been intolerable. The hotel felt cold and damp. The hostel on the same street would have been better. Rip off. Dont think I am exaggerating. Do not stay here! Great location for Chinatown ratings will adversely effect hotel ratings. A park bench would sound good if rated on location!

It was very nice trip. The location is very good cuz it is near MRT which is the best public trasportation all over Singapore. The room is small but if u re travelling in couple its ok. The room is definately nice if it has bigger mirror and closet. The bed quite hight. Everything else is good. Will be here again if i visit Singapore. Cheer

The room was ridiculously small, with no opening windows and very dusty and clautrophobic....But must say it was a very good location. With lots of local food restaurants, and if you buy the hop on hop off tour it will leave you at the start of the road.

The location is fabulous, the staff is very helpful, the only thing is the room is really small, though that might be a common thing with all Singapore Hotels

Everything went well accept the morning sun. Have to do somethimg about the curtain.

The location and service were good,just walked for 2 mins to arrive,and all staffs are nice. The room size is very small but it is clean and comfort.On of the problem is the sound pollution in the mid-night,had some people argued at the opposite shop.

And in Chinatown, almost on the subway system. Ideal. Not all cabbies now this hotel yet, so do take the little door key holder with a tiny map on it with you.

this Hotel had to be the worst that i have stayed in for a long time.We was put in a room next to the toilets and all night all you could here was the toilets flushing.the corridors wear dirty and it could do with a good clean up.

Rooms are small . Cozy though . Good for business travel . Not a family hotel

Just 2 mins walk from chinatown mrt station. Food just near by. Very convenient. Hotel is quite new. Staff are nice. Room is clean and tidy. Even super small Room but fine if just stay for short period. but staff starts cleaning the rooms at around 8:30 everyday, so its nosiy outside in the morning. Hv to wake up early.

Hotel in excellent area for sightseeing. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms small but well thought out and everything we needed.

Overally, Hotel was clean, and comfortable. But it's too small than pictures! And I couldn't open the window, too.

So, the only disappointment i have is that they do not offer any frequent stay membership, like some 10+ nites stay for a free upgrade. I believe i have stayed there for ~22days in less than a year, and I will still be visiting Singapore quite often. The hotel that my friend stays does offer
