Aparthotel Vitoria Village - بورتو

we arrived at vitoria village at around 2200, the receptionist went completely out of his way to make us feel welcome, he gave us a glass of port each and even a bottle of water as the local supermarket wasn't open. he first showed us round the hotel, you can see pretty much all of the town from the roof terrace and he pointed out where most of the main attractions were. we stopped in room 21, which was huge, it had a good sized modern kitchen as you entered. the kitchen had a krupps coffee machine, hob, oven, decent sized fridge and all the utensils you could need. climbing a few steps into the living room is a sofa bed and sofa and a 32inch flatscreen tv . there's a good sized bathroom with shower/bath with toilet, bidet and hairdryer. from the living room is a set of stairs leading to a mezzanine floor which houses the sleeping area. there's a good sized double bed with built in wardrobes that have got plenty of space in them. this was probably one of the nicest rooms or duplex's i've stayed in. the decor is modern, clean and fresh. everything has been done to a high standard. the grounds the hotel is set in is unusual, it's in the old part of town, that seems to have no garden space yet vitoria is situated in a lush green garden and court yard which appears to have been recently renovated. breakfast at the hotel was good, typical continental style, the bread was fresh as was the pastries and even chocolate cake! the streets around the hotel do seem a little run down, but most parts of the old town are. there weren't too many people around and certainly not many tourists but we did feel safe and we never had any problems with anyone. location wise the hotel is perfect, it's within a 10 minute walk to the douro river. within a couple of minutes walk to the sao bento metro station. i could list all of the local attractions but would be waffling on and i'm sure you'll do your own research. one area we weren't aware of was the jazz bars and cafe's within a c

We werden welkom geheten met een heerlijk glaasje Port. Alles kon, niets was teveel. Erg enthousiast personeel, prima studio, lekker ontbijt. Fijn dat je op je balkon kunt zitten. Wel een hele klim steeds naar het hotel, pijnlijke kuiten! Buurt lijkt onveilig maar wij, twee vriendinnen, zijn geen moment bang geweest. Je zit overal dichtbij. Echt in het karakteristieke oude gedeelte. Een aanrader! Als we nog ooit naar Porto gaan, wat heel goed mogelijk is, gaan we zeker terug naar dit hotel.
