Excellent

Walking into Brown, was like home away from home. Each hotel has a Mac and an ipad for your use. In addition, you have a small kitchen area for a longer stay. Closest train station can get you to the airport, train or bus station. Close to the Barrio neighborhood and major sites to see. Have stayed here twice so far. Plenty of channels to watch. Cons: Street is a bit desolate at night.

The hotel was fabulous, rooms with mini-kitchenette greatly appreciated. We had a very time sensitive, difficult issue that needed to be resolved in Lisbon and the staff was extremely responsive to my slew of requests for help beginning well in advance of our two night stay. We are so greatful, especially to Duarte and Ava, for the exempliary assistance which enabled us to make the very most of our short stay in lovely Lisbon

This hotel is absolutely beautiful! Great location and close to all major sight seeing. The rooms was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. We had some minor issue with the toilet, as there was a certain odor coming out of the toilet but nothing big. Right next to the hotel is a very small restaurant that has GREAT local food. It is not touristy but the food is great.

Excellent location, comfortable room, and very helpful staff. Our only issue was a leaky shower door. I would readily stay here again.

Excellent location! Rooms are small, but have everything you need. We didn't spend much time in the room anyway.

modern hotel with friendly and help fully staff. Located on central old town Lisbon and only a couple of blocks from the metro station. Excellent location for seeing all the sights of lisbon and easy access to all the trian stations for sights outside the city

central location, good design, very helpful and friendly staff. Thanks to Duarte's (from the front desk) advices and suggestions, my stay and weekend turned into a fantastic experience in Lisbon.

Great modern boutique hotel in the heart of Lisbon. Everything from the staff to room was exceptional. The only down side is the walls are a bit thin.

Brown´s Downtown, and especially the staff, are top-notch. My grumble, though, is with the current generation of so-called ``modern´´ hotel interior designers. I swear, not a one of them has ever stayed in a room of their design, used the bathroom fully or worked in housekeeping and had to clean and ready a room and bath. In this case, it is impossible to take a shower without water eventually covering the bathroom floor. It is nearly impossible to adjust the water in the shower without first getting a head-drenching of cold water. There is a mirror covering one complete wall, but essentially no shelf space for a woman´s make-up kit and-or a guy´s shaving gear. I´ve seen this same poor design all over Europe and in Latin American in the past couple of years. Frustrating in an otherwise fine hotel.

Fab hip boutique hotel in the heart of Lisbon with a funky casual attitude about it. The staff were young and friendly and made us feel so homely and welcomed. HIGHLY recommended when in Lisbon

Very nice modern hotel in the center of town. Computer in the room along with an iPad if you don't bring your own. WiFi was great. Parking only on the street which can be scarce or in the very expensive (€35 for 24hrs) public lot a short 5 minute walk away. We enjoyed the comfort and style of our room. The hotel staff was somewhat helpful but not all that friendly. We got an amazing deal thru Hotels.com and would stay there again for sure.

We loved this cute little hotel. Good location, a short walk from the shopping,dining neighborhoods. We really liked the modern decor in the lobby and the room. An iMac and iPad were available in the room (although the iPad didn't work - still cool that it was available). Only downside was that there was some temperature problems in the room. It was pretty hot all night.

First the position of the hotel is brilliant for visiting Lisbon. Everything easy walking distance. Problem is the hotel markets itself as a funky designer place, at the expense of simple practical requirements of a hotel. Our room was perhaps especially bad but some of the concerns would apply to all. Air conditioning. The statement implies that the air is conditioned. But on the last night of our stay the so called air con was only pushing out hot air despite the room being hot! Thermostat made no difference. Talk to staff and was told they had just switched the air con from cool to heat as someone had complained about the lack of heat (it was still 18C so not that cold!). Now that is not air con. As our room only had windows onto an internal atrium, even with these wide open there was no cooling breeze. Shower. This leaked vast amounts of water over the floor and the staff said that this was a problem for all rooms. Funky design V practicality. We used a face cloth to stop the worst, but the next day these were not replaced. Musty. The sink had a distinct musty aroma coming from the drain that was somewhat off putting. Sink design. Small funky and flat. So (A) nowhere to put stuff and (B) water stayed on the surface rather than draining. Lighting. Not enough – funky design v practicality On the plus side the iPad+Mac were great. The staff were friendly but seemed unable to solve the issues when raised. Management need to fix the few designer issues to be a great hotel.

The location is great. The style and design is fabulous. Was a little disappointed that the internet was not working very well at all especially when there was a mac computer and ipad in the room.

The hotel is in a very convient location. The only thing I didn't like is you have to be in your room to have the electricity to be active. I left the piece from my key to keep the power running, but the maid took it when she cleaned the room, and I had to go to reception to claim it back. I would stay here again.

Having worked in Rua Augusta many years ago, it's great to find a hotel in the heart of Lisboa, within walking distance of the main shopping, entertainment and tourist areas. Also 10mins stroll to cais do sodre, perfect for train connections up the coast to Estoril/Cascais. Small room was.... Small. But enough room to walk around double bed, so fine for crashing out. Style and gadgets were great and staff very pleasant. Only negative comment is that aircon and plumbing was quite noisey between rooms. Rule of thumb - avoid cafes/restaurants on Rua Augusta and main squares - service is average and prices are high. Go a few streets back and pick one of these. Restaurant Palmeira (left of Baixa metro arch entrance) serves typical food, or if thirsty, great cold beer for a fraction of the price.

The room was great, but it was not well sound insulated, so the noise late at night was quite annoying, when guest came back from parties ...

Location is ideal, only moments from the metro, cafes, main avenues and tram stop. The hotel is on a side street... would i have walked home alone? No, i wouldnt. Even with my husband, i felt a little uneasy. Lots of drug dealers around the surrounding area too. We were met with a very friendly and helpful manner and the check in was hassle free. Overall the condition of the hotel was fine, stay for only one night and you might not notice the wee things. Dirty walls, less than perfect paint work, the shower door doesnt close soaking the bathroom, nowhere put anything more than a toothbrush. No soap at the sink, unless you use the shower gel. A strip broke off the windows and a light fell off the wall within the first day. We slept well.... apart from the 1am awakening every night by the bin lorry doing the nightly rubbish collection in the street below. We were on the 6th floor, so found the climb in 42oC heat tough when the lift broke. TV was huge, but channels are very limited to BBC World News and similar. Great view out the 6th floor window. Small kitchen was handy. Staff pointed us in the direction of Sacramento for dinner, which was fantastic. We were in the largest room, 602 (which sleeps 2) there were 10 seats/stools PLUS the bed. The room was so packed with various chairs and tables, we kept bumping our heads on the roof!! Although the chairs were lovely, there really is no need for so many at the expense of space!! Is it worth the rack rate? No.

The hotel was like a loft in NY, I loved it! It was close to everything, in a quiet street just feet away from cafes, restaurants, monuments, buses and trams, trains, and shopping. The staff was wonderful and gave me great suggestions for outings to include a beautiful nearby city Sintra- a must see while there. Although there is no breakfast there is a free coffee/hot chocolate machine in the relaxing lobby and every room has a kitchenette which i found adequate for my meals. A tv, in room free wifi, in room apple computer, mood lights, it was wonderful and relaxing. The only downside I have is that the bathroom had a light sewery smell sometimes but did not effect the room or shower, and the bed a little hard but the pillows big and fluffy :)

An effortless, relaxing stay just off the Metro and Tram 28 in the very center of town. Great value for money, great service, outstanding hotel.

lovely modern hotel in the centre of town, amazing powerful shower ! - self catering only, would stay there again if returning to Lisbon.

Small stylish rooms with kitchen and Macs. Alright for two nights, but get medium size room if staying longer. We had a 50% discount, not valur for money if you were to pay full price.

Nice Mac-computer in every room, iPod-dockingstation - surprisingly good compared to the price.

Spent four nights here with my boyfriend in December. The location is perfect for sight-seeing and only 5-10 min walk uphill to the Bairro Alto (where all the late-night fun occurs). The rooms are small (as to be expected) but clean and beautifully decorated. The computer and iphone speakers were awesome. Definitely for a young or more independent traveler - no concierge or roomservice. Only complaint: Although there was a free coffee/espresso machine downstairs, I really wish that there had been a small machine in the rooms - I would definitely pay more for that. Also, the room had a small balcony, which was a great touch. After a long night out, we would sit out on the balcony to wind down while chatting over a glass of wine, a shot of espresso, or a cigarette... magical. :)

Very modern chic hotel, its a modern art gallery feel in every step from the front door. Free WiFi everywhere around the hotel. More suitable for younger travelers. We booked the smallest room which first we thought a bit tight, but it was more than comfortable for 2 people. The room had everything you need, even your own kitchen!, bathroom has no bathtub (we don't need bathtub anyway), your own i-Mac is definitely an added value, downside is that you don't get your own safe-deposit box (which we think is a necessity as an international traveler). Location is perfect!, no other word to describe it. Just right on the heart of the old shopping area, just a couple of tram stop from the famous Jorge castle, walking distance to major shopping belts, less than a minute walking to tourist bus stop. We didn't reserve breakfast, but as soon as you walk out there is plenty of beautiful coffee shops including Brown's chain. Front desk is WONDERFUL!, very helpful and informative. We had a car to park and they suggest us a free parking area just around the corner, they even print out maps for restaurants and recommended shops. Overall very very impressed!! Definitely a recommended place to stay if you're around Lisbon.

Hadde bestilt rom med utsikt til gaten, fikk et med vindu ut til en sjakt. Luktet kloakk på badet, senger og puter var harde, og det var lytt på rommene. Hele kjøleskapet fungerte som fryser , vannet var frosset til is i løpet av noen timer. Betjeningen veldig hyggelig og hotellet lå veldig sentralt.

We can really recommend this central hotel on a quiet street. Absolutely value for money with design features in a boutique hotel style. Add top electronic devices and a modern & clean room standard to this coupled with friendly staff. The only little thing they could improve upon was daring to give a restaurant recommendation.

Hotellet var mycket personligt och trevligt . Personalen var hjälpsam och försökte alltid hitta svar på våra frågor om än det ena och än det andra. Läget var perfekt mitt i den centrala delen av Lissabon. Nära till alla kommunikationer och till restauranger och shopping.
