Was very impressed by the service. Literally every single hotel employee I interacted with were exceptionally nice and helpful. In hindsight, circumstances had me interact with the front desk, the concierge, a housekeeper, a maintenance engineer, a bartender and a doorman. The location was a short walk from Penn Station, Times Square & MSG. Plenty of restaurants and shops close by. I've stayed at a couple of other Manhattan hotels - both in Tribeca - and TRYP had bigger rooms and a better price. It will be the first hotel I look for on future trips.

Absolutely awesome room. We got there and they were able to upgrade us to a premium room. Very well designed space and the lobby was a cool place to just relax and enjoy one's self.

The service is top notch at TRYP. The rooms are nice, but a bit small and the bathroom counter doesn't offer much room. Wasn't thrilled with the surrounding area and would stay somewhere else next time. Good value for others though.

Truthfully, one of the top 5 hotel stays I've had, and if not number 1, close. I would recommend this to anyone. Service was excellent, rooms were spacious.

I needed to stay near the Javits Center to be able to easily walk back and forth for an event. The Wyndham Tryp was a pleasant surprise: convenient, quiet, and a short walk to many shops and restaurants as well as to the Javits. The staff were friendly and helpful. My hotel room was European-style (very compact, bed with duvet, bathroom with rain-style shower head, no tub) but quite comfortable. Unusually for Manhattan, there was not a lot of outside noise due to the location - which I appreciate, as I need to sleep with the AC on for white noise and earplugs in, and usually can still hear street noise. The free wi-fi worked well and was a nice amenity. The only drawback was that the AC was very loud, and there wasn't a way to keep the setting on "low" or "fan" - it would still cycle off if the room hit the set temperature (back to my need for white noise for sleeping). All in all, I would recommend this hotel to business travelers needing to stay in the area (caveat: if you want room service, this is not the place - although they do serve food in the attached gastropub), and would stay there again myself.

The Tryp is a 3-star business type hotel that has the added benefit of family rooms which are rooms with bunk beds. There is nothing inherently wrong with the Tryp, it is a functional and clean hotel. The staff is very professional and courteous. The biggest things that bothered us was the noise, lighting and decor of the rooms. We were on the second floor with a window that faced a brick wall so very little natural lighting. The lighting in the room was oddly located all harsh over head lights except for a desk lamp, some floor lamps might have softened the lighting in the room. Noise was another issue, since we were on the second floor we could hear the heavy thumping bass of the lounge or bar nearby each night. The air vent would also occasionally kick in and it was very loud, louder than I've experienced at other hotels. While the beds, towels and linens were comfortable the rest of the decor was as my kids described it, it feels like an IKEA hotel room. Plastic upholstered couch and desk chair seats are not four star. The Tryp was functional for our 2 night stay in New York but we will not return.

The room was more spacious than I had expected! And everything was new and clean and modern. I was initially worried about the noise (from what I read from the reviews) but I found it quiet enough. I love everything about it but it disappointed me on one count. For one night, I asked for a morning call. The guy who took the call said no problem, it will be done. but, no morning call came. the next day, I decided to give them another try. I told the lady who took the call that it was v important for me to have the morning call and that they had failed to do so the previous night. she said yes, it will be done. but guess what, there was no morning call again! I didn't find the folks at the front desk particularly friendly. would I stay at this place again? probably yes, if the rates are as good.

Travelled with my 14 year old. Excellent location, room was very clean, big bathroom, staff is very friendly. Some noise at 3am due to garbage trucks in the area....but you are in Manhattan! Thank you TRYP for making our trip an excellent father and son getaway!

What a great boutique hotel. Very nice and clean. Love the forward thinking Decor and Hardwood floors. Nice to be pleasantly surprised.

After reading reviews on various NY Ctiy hotels, my husband and I decided to stay at TRYP for out 30th anniversary NY City celebraton. We couldn't have been happier with our choice. First of all, the price was very reasonable for a NY City hotel. The room was modern, sparkling clean, spacious and quiet. (We had a lovely corner room on the top floor.) The elevators were incredibly quick. (We never waited more than 30 seconds for one.) The entire staff was wonderful! They were extremely accomodating, helpful and genuinely pleasant. They went above and beyond to make sure we had a lovely and romantic anniversary. The breakfast buffet was very satisfying. They had a great selection, the food was delicious (the mini croisants were to die for) and everything was quickly replenished. We really enjoyed our stay, and highly recommend the TRYP. Thank you to everyone there for making our 30th anniversary truly memorable!

I chose this hotel for my boyfriend and I to stay in after Wrestlemania 29 at the Meadowlands because of its proximity to Penn Station, Trip Advisory rating, and overall affordability. Our room was New York City small, but excellently designed, clean, modern, comfortable, and had a great view over to the waterfront. The staff at the TRYP operates with impressive, clockwork-like precision. They'll take care of anything you need, even if you ask in Spanish. Would definitely stay again.

We were very pleased with the hotel's location and super-easy access to Lincoln Tunnel for our exit from the city. The hotel was clean, modern, colorful and the staff were very helpful. The bed was REALLY comfortable and the small bathroom had a lovely walk in shower. The free Wi-Fi was appreciated. The bathroom lighting wasn't bright enough, nor targeted near the mirror, and there was no mirror out in the bedroom, all of which made the accurate application of make-up a challenge. All in all, despite a very positive stay, the hotel did not quite come across as a four star luxury hotel. The lobby was relatively small for that rating - more boutique sized - and it was very busy in the lobby and bar area when we were checking in and out - full of people and their bags either waiting to get into their rooms or for their taxi or car to arrive. We did the same, of course! One notable and huge plus was the relative bargain rate for 24 hour valet parking @ $40.00 - versus $25 for 8 hour parking across the street at the garage. Being so near to times Square, etc. we felt that it was a very good deal. In summation, we'd stay there again happily if we can get a low rate.

Excellent hotel & location! Couldn't have asked for more. Our party consisted of two children, 2 adults & 2 senior citizens & room was great! Wonderful staff too!

This is a nice urban hotel. It is European-modern and near many great sights from Madison Square Garden to the Theater District. I'd prefer carpeting, but the wood, or faux-wood floors were nice.

I took my niece to see three Broadway Shows during her Easter Break. We loved that the subway was at the end of the block, and we were one stop away from Time Square Station on the A line. It was so nice to leave the hotel at 7:30 for an 8:00 p.m. curtain. We took the red eye from Californi, arriving at the hotel at 9:00 a.m. I was not promised, but was hoping for, an early check-in. We were not able to check in until the appointed 3:00 p.m., which was sort of a drag, but they did let us check our bags while we went to visit PACE university (again via subway) for a college tour. There were no mini-fridges in the room, but there was a Keurig coffee maker. I knew this ahead of time, so I brought extra K-Cups from home. There is a Starbucks at the corner of 35th and 8th, so essentially at the end of the block. There is a good restaurant that most kids and adults from the burbs will like, Burgers and Cupcakes, just around the corner on 9th. The room was spectacularly clean.

Great hotel, helpful staff, fun lobby with wi-fi, bar, breakfast buffet. Only negative is small work-out room that is too warm.

From Edwin meeting us at our car getting our luggage, and Ben 's help at the front desk, to John getting us a car to the airport, we were so impressed!! We loved our spacious room. The hotel is beautiful, clean, has great food and drinks downstairs, amazing and friendly staff, and is so close to many attractions and the subway. We will definitely recommend to our friends and stay at TRYP in the future. Thank you!

We initially booked one night at the TRYP for a short visit to NYC with our kids. After one night, we booked for another night. My kids loved the bunk beds in the family room, and there was Plenty of space for 4 of us in the room. The location was ideal, just blocks from Times Square, I would highly recommend the TRYP.

We stayed at the Tryp this past weekend to celebrate my sisters bachelorette party. The Tryp exceeded every expectation I had! I stopped by the hotel at about 12:30pm (with balloons in hand) to see if I could get an early check-in. The staff was able to immediately check us in and after we told them about our plans for the evening they arranged for a late check out for us for the following day. The room was clean, modern and simply beautiful. The staff was incredibly accomodating and met my every wish. They even sent a card (singed by the staff) and a complementary bottle of wine since they knew that we were celebrating a special event. I could not have asked for a better experience. The hotel is very centrally located and a few blocks from everyting I needed. The service was great but what meant the most to me was that the staff was genuine, personal, fun and friendly. Chanel and the team provided a fabulous stay for me and my guests and I highly recommend the Tryp!

Three of stayed one night. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Very clean. Awesome location! The food was great at the little restaurant. Only 2 minor things we did not like. The 2 queen beds in our room were actually doubles, not really enough room to share a bed. And the bar/restaurant opened later than expected.

Very pleased with our stay. Asked for and received an upgrade to a beautiful room. Hotel is one block from entrance to Lincoln Tunnel. Super convenient. Very nice staff. Would definitely stay again

We were staying here for 3 nights and it was perfect location for shopping, big rooms, friendly staff! Only negative was the big and loud air condition...

The hotel was very clean, rooms were nicely decorated and quite comfortable and very clean. My only issue was the occupant in the next room who stayed up late talking on the phone and you can hear it through the walls! So, that kept me up the first night.

When you turn down the street you think "oh no" - it's sort of a dead zone of car parks on 35th. But when you get to hotel (almost to 9th), the lobby is bright, bar is fun, and the rooms are really big. The bathrooms are big. I will stay again.

I spent last weekend here and stayed in the Premier Room with my brother and father. It was plenty big for the three of us (huge by NYC standards) and half of the room had a 20 foot skylight which really opened the space up. Everything is new, very clean and very modern. If IKEA designed a hotel, it would look like this. The main lobby had an open area for meeting guests with a nice looking bar and cafe area next to it (although we did not use either). Most importantly, the hotel is very conveniently located. You can walk to Times Square, Herald's Square, Penn Station and Madison Square Gardens easily. There are plenty of subway options nearby, as well. The only shortcoming is that there are not many top tier restaurants. However, there are plenty of excellent low-key Thai restaurants around the corner. You will likely need a cab for true only-in-NY food options. All in all, a great stay and highly recommended.

Lots of places to charge phones and other electronics. Very nice updates. Staff very courteous and helpful. Restaurant/bar reasonable, good food, nice place to chill.

Renewd hotel. Great room with nice facilities. A bit expensive. A bit far from main avenues. Over all - recommend

I was very positively impressed with this hotel! Staff was great, ambiance was great, room was far better than I was expecting for the price, very comfortable bed, free Wi-Fi, even the restaurant was awesome. Everything still looks fresh and new. Overall a wonderful experience, especially for NY. Slightly out of the way in south Midtown but an EASY trade-off for the quality of the place. I go to NY 3-4 times per year for business and will definitely choose Tryp every time it is in my price range.

I was overall impressed with the hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel was modern and clean. The rooms of course were not large, but typical for NYC. The location can't be beat. It's just a few blocks from Penn Station and certainly walkable to Times Square etc. . . My only complaint is that the beds were way too hard for my taste. I do like soft beds. . . and this one was as hard as a rock. I would recommend the hotel despite the hard bed!

TRYP Wyndam was wonderful...great location...clean...plenty of room in rooms..I would highly recommend it.

This is now my go to hotel when visiting the city! The hotel was clean, the staff professional and friendly and my room was amazing! The hotel is right next door to the police station so it's incredibly safe. I was a block away from Macy's and Madison Square Garden and within walking distance to Times Square. Plenty of restaurants right there. It was just excellent!

This hotel is in a great location for a convention center event, on a quite street with attentive bell hops. The hotel lobby is very modern, reminiscent of a spa, or cabin setting. The rooms are nice, with hardwood floors and spacious stall showers. The problems we had were related to our reservation. We were booked for deluxe queen/king rooms 2 weeks prior to our stay. When we arrived we were told that they didn't have 2 rooms available. Then they corrected themselves, stating that they could "squeeze" in our other party but not on the same floor. Then they said, they had 2 rooms on the same floor, but they are queen only rooms. What we got was a spacious room, but only because the bed was, in fact, a double bed, not queen and not deluxe in any way. The duvet barely covers the top of the bed and there was no extra blanket available. The bellman was extremely busy and we waited almost 20 minutes for our stored baggage at checkout. When we checked in, we overheard a family checking out ask the concierge for a taxi to the airport. They waited while the concierge called a taxi service that came right to the door for them. When we asked about getting a cab, we were told by concierge we would just have to flag one down....which at 9am on a workday is close to impossible. Overall the stay was good for one night, but as the details of the hotel were inconsistent with hotels.com details, I feel misled. However, now I know and would probably stay again, but bring my own blanket.

I found this hotel by looking for price, location, ratings & reviews - got everything I wanted & more! It was beautiful, spacious, comfortable, bright, and there was a view and a balcony!!! My friend left her sweater & they had it waiting for her at the front desk.

First off my sister and I stay in the city 4-6 times a year for business. We have been trying to find "our hotel". This time we brought my niece too. From the check in to the check out was perfect.The hotel staff were so friendly and helpful.We ate down stairs at the tapas cafe..the meal was good.we all shared a bunch of different items,they all were worth getting again.As far as the room goes ( we stayed in the family room) it was comfortable and overall clean,the floors could be cleaned better ( there were papers and dirt under beds and furniture and behind the bunk beds.The shower was lovely and the fact that they offer shampoo,conditioner and body wash (all free of parabens and no animal testing..I was thrilled with that) in a dispenser so environmentally aware..the coffee in the room made me so very happy with a frig for my own cream..the decorating was modern but warm and homey through out the hotel.We loved the energy about the place..oh and no smoking in the entire place..A absolute plus..so overall our stay was the best! the floors need to be cleaned better..that's it.. see you again soon!

I was very charmed by the bar and the bartenders. Funny kind and make you feel like you are in a home town bar in the middle of the city. I am impressed with the design as well, made to feel upscale on a good price point. Makes me afraid to give to glowing a review to ensure I can still book when I return on my frequent business trips.

The hotel design was great and the rooms were huge for a Manhattan hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel was terrific. The check in was easy, the staff was attentive and friendly. The concierge was knowledgeable about the area and was warm and pleasant to speak with. We had 4 people in our party and we opted for a premium double. This room was very spacious compared to many hotels in NYC. The beds were very comfortable indeed! Plenty to do within walking distance, and I would recommend this hotel sincerely!

This was a quick in and out for us. Only one night, and since none of us had visited NYC, we took the whole family...my husband and myself and our three daughters. Until we found TRYP by Wyndham, we were looking at having to book two rooms. This was the only one I found that offered a "family suite," and the price was very reasonable. Very clean and comfortable, and a friendly staff. We enjoyed our time, and would recommend TRYP. Especially to our friends with more than two kids!

Great little hotel - nice decor and useful room space. Staff was helpful- breakfast could be improved in menu and staffing.
