One bedroom suite best choice. Nice to have a place to lounge around after being a tourist for the day. Location great short walk to Royal Mile, close to bus transit routes. Staff were constantly helpful and always pleasant. Will stay again and definitely recommend.

I stay here two to three times per quarter, very happy. Easy walk to the city.

This hotel was a wonderful find - 10 - 15mins from city centre. It was quiet, the room was very spacious and the staff all very pleasant and helpful.Would definitely stay again.

This is a cracking hotel, the area is smart, reception is well laid out with great staff. Rooms are large and well furnished- walk in shower with great pressure, ipod dock, tv, fridge, microwave and even a dishwasher! All appears to be brand new so cleanliness is impeccable. Beds comfy, and rooms well sound insulated as never heard a sound from elsewhere. Also love the room height windows with good views over the city. Breakfast very adequate, excellent range and kept well stocked. I wish all hotels could set such high standards!

Great hotel, would highly recommend to anyone traveling to Edinburgh. We booked into the 1 bed apartment which was very comfortable. Friendly staff offered excellent recomendations for places to eat and drink. Great location a nice 10minute walk to princes street through the oldtown.

The hotel and staff were lovely. The hotel itself was very clean and staff were very helpful. Good breakfast with plenty of choice - I would definitely go back.

I stayed for business, outstanding and a small commute to the city center. Very new and modern with all the comforts needed for a short or extended stay, great value for the money.

The Marriott Residence is perfectly situated, ten minutes walk to Waverley Station, Princes street. The is whole building is very new, housekeeping immaculate and the staff very helpful and friendly. The apartment suite was ideal with the living and kitchenette seperate from the bedroom and furnished very tasefully. Also we heard no noise in our suite from the hallways, other rooms and outside.The staff can also have any food,drink etc shopping ordered and delivered for you to your apartment. There is a local sainsbury, costa coffe and fantastic Malaysian Restuarant literally next door. Would definately use the Marriott Residence again.

Large room with sofa bed, kitchen area and bathroom. Ipod dock alarm clock. Clean and new with ice maker machine on every even numbered floor. Great breakfast including take away cups for hot drinks. Easy walk from old town (about 5 minutes from Greyfriars). Starbucks and Sainsburys Local in nearby building also.

Lovely big room, very comfortable sleek and modern. The staff couldn't have been nicer as well. The location up behind the old hospital is great and there's a supermarket in the same development. It is also nice and quiet at night. Could perhaps use some instructions in the room on how to work the little oven/microwave thing.

We were very pleased with the Mariott and I would go as far to say that it was on of the Mariottt hotel accommodations we have stayed. The staff was excellent, the breakffast that was part of the room cost was diverse an large, and well beyond what we would have typically received in the United States, and matched any of the better hotels we stayed in the UK. The location was excellent, next. To the University of Edinburgh, yet not feeling as though you were near any college. In addition, the location was blocks from the Roylal Mile, about it's half mile point, so an east walk to the palace or castle. When I return to Edinburgh, this will certainly be my first choice for lodging.

Very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful with information on how to get to certain areas of Edinburgh. I,d find it hard to find any fault with my stay.

The hotel is in the middle of a development area so the surroundings are not completed although not an inconvenience. The only issue was that there was little variety in the breakfast offering.

The hotel room and facilities were of an exceptionally high standard, the rooms were well equipped with modern facilities and provided an extremely professional service. Breakfast was higher than expectations. Location perfect for access to all the must-see sights. Highly recommended.

The hotel staff were excellent, the hotel room was great layout with having a seating area and kitchenette. The only downside to this great hotel was the temperature control in the room and the corridor. I had read reviews about the hotel having this problem on the 7th floor and thought it couldn't be that bad. It was very hot indeed, we were out in Edinburgh all day and when we came back into the hotel to shower up for the Madonna concert we couldn't wait to get back out. The room was so warm that you didn't feel comfortable sat in the living area. The owners need to install air conditioning urgently or their customers won't want to return.

We had a lovely stay. The hotel was Immaculate and the staff we very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a suite which had its own kitchen area which was very handy. Would definitely stay here again next time I am in Edingburgh.

Loved the hotel. Very convenient. one small complaint and that was the food there during the day is best avoided.

We really enjoyed our stay here and wished it could've been longer. The staff were friendly, helpful; the room clean, modern, furnished beautifully; the amenities excellent: kitchenette with micro, fridge, utensils. Bathroom was good sized and everything worked. Our ONLY suggestions: We had difficulty finding hotel. Because it's new it did not appear on our GPS. There were no signs on the street to the hotel, and when we finally found it, there were no instructions in Parking Garage. Would request provide directions for parking and locating hotel, and also for using the facilities in room. We couldn't figure out how to use the TV or phone! Hotel is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Slightly disappointing breakfast, repetious, however it was classed as 'complementory'. Very clean, spacious rooms. Just a little bit too far from the main attractions as Edinburgh is rather hilly and it's tiring being a tourist!

Fairly central location, 10 minutes walk into town. On site Starbucks and Sainsburys and under hotel car parking (NCP) which, if you present your ticket at checkout is £12.80 for 24 hours. Lovely, clean hotel. Very comfortable,large bed. Ipod docking station (excellent as i forgot my iphone charger), clean kitchen and bathroom. Bathroom is a little unusual in that the sink is outside the bathroom - however with two sharing its a good idea. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and gave us maps and various tips on sightseeing. The breakfast was fairly standard. Fresh fruit and cereals, pastries and bread and toasting area. The hot breakfast wasnt amazing - sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs and baked beans but it was sufficient to keep us going until mid afternoon. For what it was, cheap and cheerful, i would definately book again.

Residence Inn is a new hotel. It was a bit tricky for us to find them since our sat-nav would not accept their postcode, but we managed in the end. It is surrounded by new office buildings and luxury apartment - many of them are still empty, as it is still under construction. There is a car park right next to it, it cost us £12.80 for over night stay (with 20% discount from the hotel.) The reception area is tiny, it looks like you are walking into a bar, but the girl at the reception was very polite, friendly and welcoming. The room was very nice, new and clean. The kitchen area had microwave, fridge, dishwasher, kettle, good range of kitchen utensils, etc., which would be useful for the guests for long stay. We had a problem with our TV in the morning, signal problem or something but nothing major to complain about. There is a nice swedish bakery & cafe called Peter's yard just around the corner from the hotel, where they serve fabulous coffee, cakes, salad, sandwich and pizza. It was worth staying in this hotel just for being close to the bakery! All in all we were quite satisfied with the hotel, the value for money is good. We would stay there again.

Nice location.Very good and comfortable rooms.Really high speed free internet.Small place for breakfast,too small lobby for a 4 star hotel,very poor breakfast.Poor facilities(ex:they had not even a thermometer!).Serious problem with cleaning the room!!!I would suggest someone stay in this hotel only if some conditions change

this hotel seemed brand new, the staff were very helpfull, but a faulty connection on the tv ariel system meant we had to change rooms. the corridors were extremely hot with no air, and the bedroom windows did not open, making it stifling at times. The non exhistant air ventilation system needs to be addressed, then, it will be a good hotel.

Friendly welcome and helpful staff. Room was great and very convenient for the sights and sounds of Edinburgh. Only issue however was how warm the rooms were - would have been good if we could have opened the windows or had some control over the ambient temperature. Overall fantastic and great value for money.

Mukava ja moderni hotelli. Erittäin ystävällinen palvelualtis henkilökunta. Jos jostain nyt voisi motkottaa, niin verhot piti pitää suljettuna, koska vastakkaisesta toimistorakennuksesta näkyi suoraan huoneeseemme.Itse kaupunki oli kyllä kylmin paikka miesmuistiin, +25 varjossa ja olis ihmisen hyvä olla tuollakin ;-)

Flott hotell i kort gåavstand til sentrum. Rent og pent, samt store fine rom. Det var også gratis grei frokost, samt serviceinnstilt personale. Meget mulig dette hotellet benyttes igjen nestegang!

Levede fuldt op til forventninger. Stort værelse med sofa og køkken. Pris og kvalitet mere end passede sammen. Kan klart anbefales. Ligger ikke mere end 15-15 min gang fra centrum.

Prima hotel. Ligt dichtbij de Grassmarket. Makkelijk te lopen richting het centrum van Edinburgh. Personeel erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Kamer van ons had ook een kleine keuken welke voorzien was van een magnetron en zelfs een kleine vaatwasser. Ontbijt is niet zeer uitgebreid, maar voor engelse begrippen hebben ze er alles en wordt zeer goed aangevuld.

Fantastisk betjening og centralt placeret hotel.

Dette hotellet ligger i et svært stille område, men kun få hundre meter til The Royal mile, gjør det til et ideelt hotell for et opphold i Edinburgh. Standarden på rommene og hotellet er topp, og betjeningen er imøtekommende og vennlige på alle måter.

O hotel é novinho em uma região linda de Edimburgo a 15 minutos a pé das principais estações. Tem um Starbucks e um mercado bem ao lado do hotel. Além disto o Staff é super atenciosos. Com certeza recomendo.

Nous avons été ravis de notre séjour. Personnel très accueillant. Immeuble et chambres modernes. Petit déjeuner très copieux! Nous avons pu visiter la ville à pied au départ de notre hôtel! Nous le recommandons vivement.

Vi är jättenöjda med vår vistelse, trevligt och gästvänligt bemötande, moderna,rymliga och mycket fräscha rum. Frukostbuffen delikat. Gångavstånd till centrum.

Fint hotell, god service og beliggenhet.

Här ska man bo, vi hade väldigt gott om plats, nytt och fräscht, kök i "lägenheten" vilket är super när man reser med barn. Och absolut bästa läge!

Vi er meget tilfredse med vores ophold men da vi kom efter mørkets frembrud var det ret svært at finde hotellet. Derfor kunne det være en god ide at lave en bedre skiltning! Det er et rigtigt fint hotel med MEGET venlige og hjælpsomme ansatte!
