We thought it was clean and affordable and close enough to the sights we wanted to visit.

The room was comfortable, spacious and clean. There were two sinks, and in addition to the two full beds, a sofa bed, coffee table and balcony. Unfortunately, the balcony faced the main route and it was too hot to go out there and sit anyway. The wireless internet worked great. On the other hand, the wallpaper was in disrepair with tape holding it onto the wall that has the shower on the other side. Also, the hairdryer didn't work. However, for the price, it was reasonable and comfortable, and the front desk was accessable by telephone and very helpful.

We stayed here for one night before my daughter's graduation from nearby SUNY New Paltz. So we just needed a place to stay for that night....Reason for the title is that we had two rooms--one with two twin beds for my mother and mother-in-law. The other with a "queen" for me and my wife. The room for the mothers was okay...large enough to accommodate them both. Nice size twin beds. They seemed not to mind it. On the other hand, the room for my wife and me was awful. The "queen" was more like a full. The water was cold until it we ran it for a while. The shower was awful...with an uncontrollable vibrating shower spray. Sheets and blankets on the bed were stained and tor. Towels were barely functional. I would recommend this only if you can't find something else.....and ask for the room with the two twins!

Place looks right out of the 1970s but fine for a short stay. Clean and no bad smells. Close to interesting hiking trails and only a 15-minute ride to New Paltz. Bringing kids? They have a nice large trampoline and a basketball hoop, but bring a ball! Don't overpay for this and you'll be satisfied.

No coffee any where, strong smell of chlorine spray in the air does not equal clean. stains on the bedding. balcony ashtray-for our non smoking room had at least a hundred butts in it. Will never stay again

Small, a bit outdated, but clean. Good for a night. Close to the footbridge accross the Hudson

I stayed there almost two week. Terrific staff, clean, convienet location. True, it was a little out-dated, like a 70s Motel, but that suited me just fine. Maybe we need to go back to that as it is more personal service!

Sure it's older but it clean. Everybody has been nice. Good price

I can't think of enough to say about this place. It was disgusting, but expensive. It had no charm and I was afraid to even put my coat on the bed for fear of contamination. It was close to the CIA though. As soon as I got there, we started looking for another place to stay! Luckily we did find another place 20 miles away...it was worth the drive!

Large room ,could fit a large family.Backup to room for convienienceGood TV with full refridge perfect for a family

We stayed here for a few nights while looking at the leaves in Hudson River Valley. This hotel is well-located, but it's cheap, but clean. We changed rooms at the start because the original room was not non-smoking as requested. The substitute room was very small and suited our purpose, thouigh really not a value in the general scheme of things. Pluses, bed was comfortable,manager/owner was quite nice. We were leaving early every day and returning late, so it suited for a basic sleeping arrangement, but I doubt that we would stay there again, mostly because the place is old and our room was tiny.

The room was very big and with comfortable beds. There were problems with the hot water and blow dryer - management addressed them quickly. Bring ear plugs - near a busy street and the traffic noise is a bit loud at night.

We wanted to experience an old 60's style Mom and Pop along the way.....That urge has been satisfied. Good location, and nothing scarey about the place but it has more permanent residences than travel guests. Which means every night the place takes on the oders of everything being cooked in rooms. Cleanliness was ok but everything was worn, and the beds...both of them, were horrendous. It hurt to sleep, they were long past their useful life. I will not stay here again.

Second time at this motel,everything is just fine, esp the price.

Very nice room for the price. This is an older motor lodge that management is slowly upgrading. Nice place to hang your hat for a night. We picked the motel due to its proximity to the Walkway Over The Hudson. Room was clean, and worth the price. Mattress could have been firmer but the Wi-Fi signal was strong and the television was a nice modern flat screen. Cute throwback to times gone by but with some modern touches. Will definitely stay there again the next time we are heading through the area.

The room was generally fine. The halls were seedy, the wall paper peeling, there was only 5 minutes of hot water (3 times), the towels were paper thin, the queen beds were fulls, but they and the room were clean and fine for a modest price that was lower than other choices around.

Staff was friendly. The room had a damp smell which did go away when the AC was put on. The wallpaper was patched with a very long piece of clear plastic tape. There was no chain on the door. I ended up putting the chair under the doorknob!

The motel was just as expected, a throw-back to a simpler time. The owner/manager was particularly gracious.

We planned to walk the Walkway Over the Hudson and the motel was the perfect location for this. The motel reminded me of a motel from my past, but just like in the past, everything was clean and in great shape. It even had a sunlamp in the bathroom and free postcards!

The hotel was close to everything we wanted to do and see. Not bad for the price.... Also there were couple of nice places to eat near by. Very close to the mid-hudson bridge. Room was clean and bed was comfortable.

This hotel is pretty bad. You can hear every footstep between the hallway and rooms. There is a large slit underneath the doors. Not great if you want privacy. Also, they provided us with no towels. That really was annoying because we had to wipe our hands on the bed sheet after washing, it was pretty horrid because it's tough to get a hold of someone as there is no one at the front desk at night. You have to call them from downstairs. I wouldn't stay here again, if your on a budget and you absolutely need a place to stay, I guess it's okay - I mean it's clean enough, no bugs or anything. I just wouldn't recommend it.

This was all we needed. Comfortable beds, clean facilities. Nothing fancy but perfectly adequate.

Room was clean. Good service, pretty convenience location. Really quiet night. We parking literally out the room door. Only thing..need a vending machine (water, soda, snacks) altough is a big gas station with Subway, DD across the street they need something for lazy clients, or for munchies at midnight.

Clean, room, yes a little "dated," and no there was no free breakfast; but I saved thirty bucks over the chain that serves cereal and white toast. I'd happily return.

Staff were cordial and helpful. Location was convenient to services and Metro North. Room was small. Some rooms exit to inside and outside. Need to specify any preference at reservation. Small fridge but no coffee maker.

This hotel is right off the highway but pushed back off of the road. I had a regular room which I thought was very small, but some of the other rooms had patio and barbecue areas. There is a separate picnic area where you can sit and watch the fireflies. The front desk staff is very friendly. There's not much to say about Highland. Decent outpost for travel along the Hudson. I would definitely stay again, especially if I were in the area for a prolonged trip.

The room was large and clean. It had a microwave and full size refrigerator. The wall paper was peeling from one wall but otherwise it was in good condition. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. There was a nice restaurant and diner almost next door. No hair dryer, shampoo etc. Shower water wasn't always hot.

The hotel is right at the foot of the MidHudson bridge, close to Highway 9W and not far from Amtrak Station in Poughkeepsie. It is a blast from the past in the 1960s. But the rooms were clean and comfortable, each with a refrigerator and a microwave. the bathrooms were nicely tiled, and the rooms were cool and airy. Right in the middle of my visit, it got sick and the owner helped me find a doctor and a pharmacy--not the best of my recent trips for sure, but made better by the people at Atlas.

pros Hotel was clean, Staff was friendly Cons. hotel was outdated, room was small, ran out of hot water and had to wait to continue shower. Not located in area with good restaurant choices.

We opted for the Atlas Motor Lodge as a one-night budget alternative to local B&Bs in the New Paltz/Highland area. Very pleased. Both people at the front desk were friendly and helpful. Our room, a two-double-bed nonsmoking, was more spacious than the standard issue in a chain hotel. The downside is the overall condition of the hotel: the room furnishings (couch, bedspreads, etc.) could use an update, and the hallway carpets were considerably worn. Our room's walls had very old wallpaper that was starting to peel. That said, the room and all common areas were spotlessly clean. There's a vintage charm to the place--it's just as you see in the pictures. Would stay again.

We found the hotel location with no problems, it is located right off the highway with terrific signage. The hotel grounds were very pretty and well kept. The room was perfectly clean, beds fresh and made nicely with pillows that were so comfortable! Neil, the person who checked us in, was very helpful in pointing out the best place for pizza, he was right too! I would recommend this spot for anyone traveling in the area, it is family friendly but was very quiet making for a restful night. The hotel is close to many local sights and you can get to almost anything you need from food, gas,groceries or pharmacy needs in less than 5 minutes.

Clean and well maintained. Atlas provided a perfect spot to stay on our trip to the Hudson Valley. The innkeepers are friendly and helped us with directions to many places in the valley.

Practical, efficient place to sleep on way to a funeral. I would do it again.SPartan, basic and safe.

This hotel is located very close to Poughkeepsie and Vassar College, which is where I was visiting. The room was clean, and came with a sofa, minifridge, 32 inch flat screen TV, and wifi! There was also a sink outside of the bathroom in addition to the one in the bathroom for convenience if couples are traveling together. Temperature maintenance was very easy as well. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable place to stay in the area. One little quirk that I thought was interesting is that the room had a hardwood floor, no rug. I do wish that they had a "Do Not Disturb" hanger to put on the door, as there was no need for cleaning to come through after my first night, but that was a minor issue.

This was a clean, nice, and simple place to stay. Nothing fancy, but super clean and perfectly comfortable. Sort of a time warp back to the Fifties or something. The desk clerk was very nice. Everything was easy. I'd happily stay here again.

The motel was a great value for the money. Large TV, full size fridge and microwave. The only downside was that the glass sliding door was bolted from the inside so we couldnt go onto the patio or get some fresh air. All in all we enjoyed our stay

This motel has a cordial staff, and a convenient location, with comfortable and clean rooms, though no amenities (eg no shampoo etc). The only drawback is that it is a stone's throw from a busy highway, and the noise was quite intrusive and in particular interfered with sleep. Also, although the rooms were non-smoking, there was still a noticeable smell of smoke, probably in the furntiture and rug. If it weren't on the highway, we'd stay there again.
