Days Inn Lead - ليد

Everything was full in deadwood! Desperate to get a room closes to deadwood made last minute reservation at Days Inn. Read previous reviews & expected the worse! Unfortunately staff were friendly, sheets very clean, the view is beautiful, tv remote works, bar & restaurant had good prices the only. thing was we had to run hot water 5-8 mins. in the morning due to corner of our rm. BETTER THAN EXPECTED BY FAR!!!

There was never any issues with the friendliness or helpfulness of the staff. Hotel was outdated, and one of the two elevators was "broken", although there was a hand-written sign on it that stated it was a "service elevator". Room cleanliness was ok; sink was a little dirty with dried toothpaste. Biggest turn-off was the envelope left by the maids, asking how the rooms where, and I assume, wanting a tip. Parking was a hassle this time of year, as snowmobile trailers took up most of the parking.

The rooms are nicely Sized and very clean and well-kept. The food for breakfast was somewhat disappointing as it was said to be a continental breakfast. There was cereal, muffins and bread and that was all.

I understand they are in the process of slowing renovating their rooms but what I don't understand is why you wouldn't be putting people in those rooms so that they would have a better experience. The picture on the website is an updated room but no one in our party (we took up a whole floor) had an updated room. The breakfast is a joke. They are low on the small ammenities like a frig in the room. The desk staff is helpful but the manager is difficult to work with.

it was great except that there was no ice on the second floor

people at desk were very friendly and helpful with a smile, except the am guy. very easy to use limo service. room spacious and comfortable. liked having sink outside of bathroom so 2 could get ready easily.

This was once a very nice hotel, but they have let the maintenance go. Lots of little things need attention. Book in room said there was a pool available accessed through a tunnel. However, the community pool was not in operation for some time. The access tunnel had not been used for years and was said to be a safety hazard. Need to upgrade the info. Breakfast was barely adequate. Guess you get what you pay for.

This motel was one of the best we stayed at in a two week trip. It was the cheapest also. We really liked our room and the whole motel. The only problem we had was that the ajoining room door was short and we could see the light from the room next door and the moving of the next door guests. When our room was dark the shadows and light changes were spooky. I was not staying alone, was with my husband but had I been alone in the room I would have had a sleepless night.

This hotel was a great value. Comparable hotels in Deadwood (1 mile away) would cost two or three times more. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would stay here again.

If you dont care about the employees lazy sloppy appearance this is your hotel. If you are missing a blanket its becauce the maid is wearing it to the breakfast buffet.

Eric at the desk was very helpful and gave us some great ideas on some of the least driven roads. Next morning we were approached by an employyee and asked if all was well. Ended up that he was the owner, Rory, very polite and gracious that we stayed at his hotel. Will stay again if we get out west again.

Excellent value for the price and close to Deadwood but much netter bargain overall. The continental breakfast was very good. We will stay again next trip

Overall it was a very nice stay. The rooms were appropriate for our visit. Hotel staff was very friendly, professional and addressed any of our questions or concerns. The bathroom was very small, as was the hallway leading into the bathroom. The sink looked out of place being in the general sleeping area, next to the bed. There seemed to be stains on the bathroom walls, near the ceiling, which looked like mold.

I wasn't expecting much from this hotel because the room was so cheap compared to other Black Hills lodging. And they delivered on my expectations. The hotel is in need of some remodeling...it's the little things that make the difference, like painting, new carpet, cracked windows, etc. The neighborhood seemed OK and it is a short walk to downtown Lead. There is no breakfast available (most Days Inn I have stayed at in the past at least had muffins and rolls). Also, there is no pool or fitness center. Apparently, they had an agreement with the YMCA next door, but we were told their facility has been undergoing major construction for about a year. There is a restaurant/bar in the hotel, but we did not try it. If we hadn't needed to be in Lead/Deadwood for a wedding, we would have stayed somewhere else, probably in Custer.

This hotel is tucked in the mountains near Deadwood, SD and 45 minutes from Mt. Rushmore. Lead, SD is a very cute little town with very friendly people. This hotel does except pets. There is a bar/restaurant on the ground level with an outside patio. There is a limited menu but everything we had tasted pretty good. They also allowed us to have our beagle out on the patio with us while we ate. The staff of the hotel and bar/restaurant were very friendly and very accomodating to us with our beagle. The hotel room itself was very clean and comfortable and the bathroom was nice. There is an elevator in the hotel. There is breakfast, but unfortuantly we missed it. Overall great price, location, and experience! We would definitely stay there again!

Our stay was quiet and relaxing. We had very sleepful nights. The AC was a little loud but didn't really bother us. The housekeeping staff were friendly and courteous. My only complaint was that only one ice machine was working and that the one that was working was running out of ice. Not a serious situation for us. Enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone interested in staying in Lead.

After three weeks on the road we were getting tired of the standard basic hotel room. We were pleasantly surprized at the spaciousness of both the bedroom and bathroom. The decor was pleasing, the king bed was comfortable, the room was immaculate. Given the low rate, our expectations were not very high. This hotel turned out to be the best bargain costwise on our trip. The contintntal breakfast was OK. Could use a little more variety. The hotel was about a 10 minute drive to the attractions in Deadwood which was a lot more expensive to stay in. Would definitely stay here again.

Okay for the price. Desk clerk was cordial and helpful. Just a couple complaints. Sink and counter were out beside. the inner bed. Bairly able to walk between them and light for that area woke every one up. Not like when it is along the entry hallway to sleeping area. Only one garbage for whole room. Toilet paper was thinnest I've ever seen.

The nature of my visit was for business, But I still did some of the t.ourist thing. An hour to drive in you could see several things that south dakota has to offer my only complaint about this motel was That the rooms or rather outdated...and that is more of an observation than a complaint. I was very impressed with the staff there though they were veryHelpful they made sure to greet me when I came and they were just great people. Plus this place has a great kitchen you gotta try the steak tips they're fantastic! I would definitely stay here again if I come back down here.

Everything was fine. It was a little noisy in our 2nd floor room right above the outside patio seating. The noise continued until about 1:00a.m both Friday and Saturday nights. It wouldn't keep me from booking another stay there. Staff was friendly and did a good job. We weren't expecting the continental breakfast, and were pleasantly surprised. It is so nice not having to go and eat somewhere before getting your day started.

The staff was friendly and the view from our 3rd floor room was very nice. The room was very old outdated and in bad shape. Big scrapes against the walls furniture had big rips and holes in it. Bed was very uncomfortable and the shower head and faucet was dirty and rusted.

This was first time we stayed at a Days Inn, the previous night had stayed at a motel which was horrible, was pleasantly surprised about " everything " that Days Inn had to offer, will most definately check for Days Inn first wherever we travel.

We arrived late and our room air was on and ready for our arrival, which was super nice. The rooms were clean. This hotel is in transition, the continental breakfast was not much to brag about and there is no pool. Other than that, we were pleased

It was difficult to find the hotel since our cells were out-of-service range for most of Lead AND the hotel had recently become a Days Inn and only one outside sign reflected that. The large signs atop the building were still the old name. The staff was very kind, helpful and wanting to please, but there was only so much they could do for low dark ceilings and stale Danishes on the meagerest free continental breakfast I had ever seen. There was even an apple or orange, just bread, cereal, stale Danishes and instant generic oatmeal. The beds were comfy and the rooms clean. Check in and out was a snap. I'm not a biker, but I thought it was nice that they had rags at the entry for cleaning motorcycles. Overall, I'd stay here again for the price savings, but not expect much more than friendliness and a clean cozy bed.

It was a nice place, however if you will be getting in late be prepared to drive up a long mountain road in the dark. The hotel and surrounding area was nice.

We arrived a little early but were unable to check in till 3pm, clerk said they were understaffed and cleaning the rooms was taking longer than it should. The phone in our room did not work, the light bulbs were missing from the lamps and our chair had a broken leg. The bed was comfortable and the staff was very nice. The free breakfast was the worst I have ever seen, nothing to it at all.

Snowmobile trail starts across the street close to deadwood and awesome staff. I would stay again for sure.

Got charged twice. One from hotels.com and one from the hotel itself. Still waiting to get my money back.
