I stayed in a 2BR pool villa recently. When I booked on this site, I was not aware/informed that the property was in soft launch stage. Construction was half done. Also, correspondence with the hotel staff suggested we'd be having breakfast at JW Mariott as the restaurant is not built yet. However, the counter staff vehemently denies this despite email proof and was arguing with me over semantics. Breakfast was served at Bill Bentley, which is rather horrid if this was truly a 5 star property. Despite being new, light fixtures were not working. The side table was broken. In all, don't stay here until they've sorted themselves out.

Anantara offered a very high end stay in Thalang which is about the only quite beach in Phuket. The facilities are top notch, especially with access to the Anantara hotel directly across the street which offered many restaurants and a fabulous beachside pool and patio. It is very remote here though which we found a blessing compared to the rest of Thailand which is very busy and very crowded. The Marriot next door also offers many services as well. The only caution we make is that the complex is still under construction so at times it was a bit noisy, but given the beach and pools you won't hardly be in your room anyways.
