Everything was fantastic. We got upgraded to a suite room for $50 extra per night. It was definitely worth it. Next time I'm in Medellin I will be at that hotel. the food was fantastic the facilities more than met my expectations. the only thing I would say that would have been better is that the concierge who was supposed to help us with tours and information about the city was very young and inexperienced and not too knowledgeable about things to do and see in Medellin. They did not have any extra Tour books for us to look atthe one she let us take to our room I had to return because it was the only one they had. She was very sweet and did everything she could within her limited experiences and age. That's the only thing and again nthe place is fantastic and I'll be back there again.

I booked a Superior King room and got a tiny room way smaller than advertised. 11 by 15 feet. Not sure how this is OK but I think the hotel overall is outdated.

The swimming pool and gym are excellent, sauna, whirpool and steam room. Restaurants are very good

Great hotel just a small distance away from the busy Parque Lleras/Poblado (zona rosa) area, so very easy to get to there if you want to enjoy the restaurants and bars nearby. The hotel has taxis waiting at all times which are very clean with polite drivers, and these taxies charge the same rates as the local taxis without the hastle. Great bed in king beded room, lovely room but shows a lfew signs if age due to style/condition of some parts of the room and bathroom. A little lacking in providing tea/coffee and shampoo/shower gell, but housekeeping called every evening to check if anything was needed and they always brought anything I wanted. Shame they charge 10 times the local supermarket price for a bottle of water! Has a great pool and sunbathing area, just needs a few more sunbeds. No noise to be heard from neighboroung rooms or outside traffic noise, the latter you cannot avoid if you stay in the main areas of the city, so a big plus if you want peace and quiet.

The hotel itself was fine, but the entire purpose of a hotel is to provide a good night rest. This is where the Intercontinental failed, both night we stayed the room was WAY to hot for out comfort and we got little sleep. The first night, maintenance came to the room, he told us that even though we had the thermostat set to 18 degrees it would never go below 22. Apparently management sets the temp there. There was nothing wrong with the AC, it just was not allowed to cool further, the front desk offered to move us, but when I asked if those rooms cool below 22, they said no, so what would be the point. Also, who wants to move rooms at 3 am. Why bother putting thermostats in the rooms if they won’t allow it to be cooled.

Amenities, installations, staff, everything is excellent in this hotel, al least for this city.
