Not a bad hotel

Our 2 day stay was pleasant. The room was a lot smaller than we would have liked with 2 kids and one of them an infant. We had alot of stuff so it was a tight squeeze. Didnt have any issues during our stay.

Nice Stay

We stayed for 3 nights to visit family in DC.I prefer the Crystal City area because it's a much shorter drive into DC, but this Alexandria location was a very enjoyable stay. From our window we could see the Eisenhower Ave. Metro Station that would have been an easy walk. Also within view and an easy walk were Starbucks and Wegmans. Room was clean and comfortable. The employees were all very friendly and helpful. Only cons were the smallish elevators and pool was closed, but I would definitely stay here again.

Nice place to stay.

I, my husband, two adult children aged 24, 25, and our 25 pound dog decided to stay at the Holiday Inn Carlyle in Alexandria based off the Hotel.com reviews that I read online for a Washington DC weekend stay. We were not disappointed! The room was clean and updated. We were provided two complimentary breakfast meal tickets for each day we stayed. Since our adult children enjoyed sleeping later in the day, the amount of tickets we had was perfect. Both Aziz and Betty were helpful, smiling, happy servers. Also we had one nighttime meal that was served by the female bar attendant - sorry I did not catch her name, but she was just as pleasant as the other two employees! We asked for extra towels as soon as we arrived, and were provided them with no hesitation. My family appreciated the location of the Holiday Inn @ 2460 Eisenhower Ave, Alexandria, because it was about 7 miles from the monuments in DC, but also there was an AMC theatre, Starbucks, Dunkin’ Donuts, and CVS within 1-2 blocks of the hotel. Although we traveled by car each day to Washington DC, the Blue Line Metro was 2-3 blocks away from the hotel - what a convenience! We wanted to enjoy the indoor pool, but time escaped us. It looked inviting. The only two items that need to be fixed in room # 316, is a air return vent screen was loose and need to be secured, and after an over abundance of rain, we noticed a small amount of rain water on the window ledge. We left the hotel as happy guests.

Great Family Stay!!!

We enjoyed our spur of the moment stay. All the staff were really nice and helpful. We’re a family with 4 children (8 yrs., 6 yrs., 3 yrs., and 21 months) and we will definitely stay here if we come to this area again. The restaurant staff absolutely accommodated our family making our meal times enjoyable.

Free parking next to Metro

An economical and convenience choice for our 5 day visit to DC and Alexandria old town. The place offers free parking is conveniently next to the metro station which perfectly fits our travel plans around town. Alexandria old town is 1 metro stop away, and there is a small array of restaurants nearby. Hotel itself is aged a little with some newer furniture. No free breakfast and all-day coffee here. We were given a wheelchair access room right next to the lift, but it was very quiet. Wifi was good enough for youtube streaming. Housekeeping was really bad -- we opted for housekeeping at checked in, which only came in on our second day -- the 3rd or 4th day would make more sense. We went to the front desk for fresh towels and coffee refills, which came in a plastic bag at our door at the end of the day. Lastly, we disgust at the wheelchair access shower space -- the water drips and stands on the bathroom floor, and the water temperature was really hard to control.

Would have given all thumbs up, but my room didn’t have a coffee mug for the courtesy coffee and had to go floor by floor to find ice machine that worked.

My overall stay was nice, i think the hotel should be updated a little. I didnt like that the pool wasnt open.
