It’s an older hotel that had obviously had some refurbishment done. So it’s got that mix of old and new around the buildings and in the room. It’s very clean and obviously well maintained. Friendly staff at reception and no hassles at all with checkin/out. Short walk to Parnell shops and restaurants. Would stay here again.

Quiest heat pump in a hotel ever. Clean and tidy, plenty of towls comfortable bed, 4 pillows, sky movies, free parking. Bargain.

Good location. Easy walk to Parnell with great choice of restaurants and not far at all from CBD. Quiet and safe. Beautiful Rose garden just across the road. Cleaning staff has done a good job and although the building is clearly getting old and tired (and so are the amenities) but kept reasonably presented and clean. Not the most comfortable beds but again reasonable for the price. The most disappointing part was check-in and check-out. In essence, I did not enjoy being treated like a potential criminal. I was charged $100 for deposit which was not noted in Expedia or on the hotel website. When asked about it, I was told that it was hotel policy. Asked again why actual charge was being debited rather than card detail being held, I was told that it was because sometimes card gets declined. On check out, I was asked if everyone has vacated the room, which I confirmed. I was then told to wait whilst this staff went to the room to check it. I was told again this was hotel policy. Both times there were other people checking in or out but they were not charged a deposit when they checked in nor a staff went to check the person's room. I have never seen such practices in any other hotel or motels. Blatant discrimination, for whatever reason (I still can't figure out what motivated them to do this), was unpleasant to say the least. I have travelled fair bit but never came across behaviours like this. I will never use this hotel again.

Very close to The Rose Gardens, Very Noisey (traffic) I think we must have been near a bus stop or something. Quite tired in the bathroom and had cocroaches in there. Nice selection of Teas and coffees - dining room close by. Room clean but in need of refurbishing in the bathroom.

My second time here and given how cheap it is, its pretty good. The only thing that bothered me was the reception guy told me to go up either of the stairs on the sides of the reception block to get to my room and I ended up on a whole mission to try and find it as it was actually over the other side. Its like a maze up there, and the direction signage is unhelpful, so I had to ask someone. I'm not a lazy person, just when I have luggage consisting of a few different bags, its a mission going up and down stairs.

Basic, no frills.

Clean room & a really comfy firm bed A+. Room has been semi refurbished, but still shows its age. esp bathroom. Minimal furnishings. No powerplugs nr bed or desk. Rooms not soundproof & expect to hear the traffic. But decent earplugs will sort that out. I slept well....room served its purpose for last minute booking. Free onsite parking a bonus. Wifi wasnt great...but was ok.
