Disappointed.

Disappointed. Our overwater bungalow was right next to one getting a new roof. Sawing and construction noise all day long from 8am to 6pm. We asked to be moved but the manager said there were no other bungalows available. The manager said noise would be 9 to 5. Not the case. We could not enjoy our deck with 7+ workers looking down on our deck. Dang it.

I loved the overwater bungalows. There were times when I felt I was on my private island. Snorkeling was fantastic. The restaurant and front desk staff were so friendly and helpful.

This is an incredible property with a beautiful reef for snorkeling right off of the property’s beach. Bungalows are stunning and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. I will have to say however after spending a huge amount of money for our hotel room in what was meant to be a secluded holiday destination I was incredibly surprised that Saturday found the property hosting a concert with hundreds of people in attendance. It was right on the beach and disrupted, let me just say ruined, our beach day and served as what I could only think of as a super spreader event for COVID-19. I wish we had known that this was going to happen we would have stayed elsewhere.

Snorkel to hearts content

Very easy snorkeling. We cancelled cruise due to COVID and decided to go back to Sofitel. Stayed at Hilton too (which was very nice) but I like Sofitel better (no current and beautiful)

Excellent Stay

We had an excellent stay! The room was clean though in need of a bit of maintenance (examples: a slat in one of the windows was detached and the curtains were getting quite worn). Service at Vue, the bar, was a bit spotty (understaffed) a few times we were there, but I suspect this was due to more staff being needed for the restaurant. It was quite busy during the holidays and perhaps some staff members were off and replacement staff members were filling in. The food in the restaurant was excellent, which made meals especially delightful. In general, the staff throughout the hotel was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend this hotel to our friends and relatives.

Overwater Bungalow Dream

This resort is the overwater bungalow experience of our dreams. I would highly recommend to get the luxury overwater bungalow to get the full experience of the resort. The water around the bungalows is clear as can be, and there are thousands of fish right outside your deck. We even swam with a school of fish! The resort has extreme attention to details with champagne in the room and Hermes toiletries. I would recommend to get a car in Moorea, so you can try the local restaurants. Overall, this place was incredible!

Great overwater bungalow

Bungalows were great - amazing snorkeling right from your room. The room itself is slightly dated, but they provide a restocked fridge each day which was a great touch. Concierge was helpful in making dinner arrangements for us. Overall, it was a lovely picturesque stay.

Fantastic stay

Fantastic overwater bungalow stay. We were surprised by the delivered champagne. Beds were amazingly comfortable and the morning snorkels from the deck were off the charts. Reef sharks, turtles, eels

The location of the hotel was nice, as it is situated on a lagoon so snorkeling was excellent. The presentation of the facilities was nice and the views were incredible. The live music at night was an enjoyable touch. Those are pretty much the only positives. You are paying for the location and view, not for the luxury hotel experience that I was expecting. The rooms are in desperate need of repair. They are old and falling apart. Housekeeping was terrible. All they did was make the bed and empty the trash. Bath products were not replaced and shower drains were not cleaned. In fact, I doubt that anything was cleaned at all. The snorkeling equipment that they provide is very old and worn. There were loose floor boards on the board walk and on our deck. There is always a long line at reception as there are only ever 1-2 workers there. Early check-in was not available so we waited patiently for 5 hours for our rooms to be ready. It would have been nice if we were alerted via text message that our room was ready, instead of us waiting. Poor check-out experience as well. Due to the long lines, we had to wait and missed our transfer to the ferry. It was given to the couple in line ahead of us who literally ordered the taxi at checkout (we had ordered ours the night before).
