Great location but that's all the hotel has going for it. In serious need of refurbishing.

Basic but spacious, good pubs nearby and connections via the train

We had a slight issue on check-in that the hotel said that we only had 3 rooms, instead of 4. I had the print out of the confirmation of 4 rooms. I needed to be firm and not allow them to sandwich us into the 3 rooms due to their oversight. Finally, after standing at reception for quite a while, they agreed that we had booked 4 rooms and gave us the 4 keys. I am glad that it didn't get more complicated than that because these rooms were booked months in advance for the Christmas markets in Cologne. In general, the rooms were very simple and basic, but had everything we needed. There were signs on the refrigerators that they weren't working/on during winter months. We had medicine that we needed to keep cold, so we had to use our cold packs in the room. The location was superb! We were able to walk to a number of markets, and then come back to the room to drop off shopping or take a rest. Excellent location! In general, we were very happy with our choice. Clean and neat budget hotel in a great area.

We always stay here when visiting Cologne as it is so central. Easily walkable from the station and near the cathedral. The Christmas market is the best we have been to. The hotel was built in 1959 and is quite retro now. Sadly it will close for renovation next year so we hope to visit to see what has changed.

Super location.walking distance to all of the city attractions and Xmas markets...friendly staff very knowledgeable and fluent English speakers! Very large single room...had a fab time will definitely book again.
