I have stayed at the Washington Duke Inn many times since first attending Duke in 1992. My memories of the hotel were always impressive and regal. Now, a mix of covid precautions and time has degraded the hotel. The service, as usual, was impeccable. But the room definitely needs updating. For example, water pressure was low, the floor lamps were wobbly, the desk power outlets did not work, and some of the TV cables were hanging from behind the set. WaDuke is no longer the premium experience I remember -- in that regard, Duke's JB Duke is a better option. I do hope the university decides to invest in giving the WaDuke the status is deserves and always had.

Just an amazing place

The Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club is a classic yet updated place to stay that is convenient to Duke University. It is full of history, but has modern touches like reliable WiFi and updated bathrooms. Walking around the public spaces is like walking through a time capsule - ornate furniture, busts of important members of the Duke family, and antique items everywhere. It made picking up our daughter for the end of the semester pleasurable. Plus, the suite we booked had plenty of room for us to enjoy a cozy "Thanksgiving" in our room.

Beautiful property all around for our initial college scouting trip for my son. Only downside was that the pool is currently closed.

The property is nice enough, and the rooms are decent. I was there for a medical test, and spent a lot of time on our room. However, the hotel was not enforcing mask usage, and there were people everywhere without masks. It was hard to walk down any hallway in the building without running into people who weren’t wearing masks. The staff did nothing to enforce the rules around social distancing and masks. Even in the lobby, people felt free to flout mask rules. I just don’t get why some people won’t wear masks to protect themselves and others.

Love the fitness center, outdoor spaces, staff, cleanliness and proximity to Duke and the highway. It’s my go to hotel for stays in the area. Just wish food availability was posted for covid hours as it was hard to find food there or at many of surrounding area restaurants

The property is gorgeous, the rooms are lovely and well-kept, and the staff is wonderful. Our breakfast was also excellent.

Beautiful and very clean. Loved it. The golfing and staff were excellent as well. Food was incredible.

I understand everyone is on edge because of Covid and from the occasional meathead that doesn’t wish to wear a mask. That aside, the staff seems to be missing the mark with the grace of how they deal with people that ARE following the rules. Seemed like a culture thing. Otherwise, nice place. Will be back
