Horrible experience!

For some reason it took me an hour and a 1/2 to check in at this hotel and I had booked it through hotel com. I've never had any other problems with them but this was ridiculous. The hotel did not have the information and I had already paid online and used one of my rewards. I feel like hotels.com needs to give me another night or a reward night. Because I was so tired and it was already midnight. It seriously took almost 2hrs. And I have used hotels.com for a very long time and recently had to stay in rooms through them for about 2 months until my house was built. I never had a problem but I came this night and it was already getting late and I din't even get in my room until midnight. So upset!

Great stay in Bakersfield

Great stay! We came to town to attend a graduation. The room itself was very small, but clean and comfortable. The property is well kept. The staff was friendly and efficient.

Not so good

We were expecting our rooms to be on the high-level floor so I wouldn’t hear much noise and had booked it there before the trip but was disappointed when the lady at reception said the levels of the floor isn’t booked guaranteed! Disappointed. So if you want a high-leveled room prepare to get either on the 2nd or 1st floor.

Hyatt Place Bakersfield was tip-top

...Really friendly and informative host at check in. Room was clean and comfortable. My mother is elderly and we were accommodated with a walk in shower. Will stay here again.

Unfortunate

Check in was easy. Once I got my keycards, I headed up to my room. It was a clean room, a little smaller than expected but no big deal. I noticed the knob to control temperature in the mini fridge was broken off and the TV was locked in a hospitality mode. The TV remote was unresponsive most of the time. I usually take a laptop or tablet with an HDMI cable to stream what I like to watch. Either the hospitality mode or the TV remote wouldn’t let me switch to an HDMI setting and the Chrome Casting on the TV would only connect for a few seconds and then immediately disconnect! I tried several times and there were no other buttons on the TV. I let the front desk know and they tried to help. I called again and they said they’ll send us some help. After around 30 minutes of waiting, we called again and they said they’ll send us help. After about an hour from our first call I decided to go down to the front desk to ask for help again and I was told their guy who helps with the tech wasn’t even working at the moment. So unfortunately we received no help and told us to just call in the morning to see if we can receive anything for the inconvenience. One of the lamps on the night stands wouldn't turn on and there wasn’t any outlets on the nightstands either. This Hyatt was not for me and unfortunately I doubt I will book at this location again. I really appreciate the cleaning staff. They were very nice and helpful.
