my opinion

the outside was dirty, the garbage are full loading, nobody clean it, air conditionned not working well, and the room smell bad

High price for lousy room

Was only booked as another hotel.com booking had no rooms when we showed up. Was told we had booked the last room. It shows as we paid $154 At a red roof inn!!! for a room where the AC barely worked, the toilet barely worked, the shower was plumbed backwards and the room had annoying bugs (mosquitos and moths, not bed bugs). The room was otherwise clean except for the bugs. Staff was friendly and courteous despite having system trouble.

Absolutely Disgusting

I have never written a negative review in my life, because it seems like a waste of positive energy. But I'm happy to do it here if it saves folks from my experience. My first room smelled of smoke and there was a large, clearly visible lump (3-4" high) in the middle of the bed. I had to get down under the mattress pad to find the filthy item jammed there. Looked like a dirty graying tee shirt. Second room was pretty bad but I was tired and almost stayed... until I saw the toilet. I left, contacted hotels.com and asked for my money back. It took four days for management to get back to them to say the "would not make an exception for me" on a refund. I wonder if dirty items stuffed under the mattress pad was an exception or a rule for them. The outside garbage cans were overflowing with double their capacity. Nets around the whole building were catching whatever (cement?) was falling down. Rubber glove and cigarette butts in corner of cement. I will never, ever stay in a Red Roof Inn again, no matter what the rating. I went to a similarly rated and priced place 5 minutes away that was simple, clean, and wonderful. One star is generous. Do yourself a favor. Stay anywhere else.

Left felling Perplexed

My only issue was I could not upgrade my room. The gentleman said he just started working there but he seemed like he was someone that was higher up. My sister‘s room was a standard and I wanted to switch mine to a standard because I needed the fridge and microwave but he said he couldn’t do it or didn’t know how to switch reservations around when I know it can be done. There were two other gentleman working and he didn’t even bother to ask to show him how to do that considering I was willing to pay the 86 more dollars for the upgrade. I stayed from Wednesday to Sunday and I had no fridge and a microwave.
