Viva La Mansion del Sol!!

I believe this will be our "go to" place in Guadalajara. We first stayed here about eight years ago and loved it then and I was eager to stay again and loved it now as well. The place is beautiful although some of the furniture is showing its age with knobs missing etc, but that is hardly an issue. The staff is excellent, particularly the morning staff that takes your breakfast order. These gentlemen work some long hours but are always pleasant and helpful so please tip them well. They do keep it clean and something I had not seen anywhere in Mexico or the US is immediate hot water. Within three seconds of turning on the hot water, it is warm so there's little waste. I love it. It is going to take alot for us to change our preferred mansion in this city. I wrote up a long review in my FaceBook and included pictures and videos. I recommend it highly.

We always prefer a boutique type property over a chain. This is exactly what we like, small, beautiful and with historic character. Would stay here again.

Little the dirty side

There was absolutely no parking we had a park on the street on a busy street The room had cobwebs the shower leak flooded the whole bathroom The bed sheets and the pillows are old very uncomfortable The breakfast in the morning almost an edible

The property is beautiful, however I had a very bad experience during my stay that made me ranked the cleanness very low. The first night I had a shower and the shower drain was clogged, as it was late at night, we decided to call in the morning and ask to repair it. A gentleman came and pumped the drain, he said it was fixed but someone was going to clean it when they come to clean the room. We left the hotel and came back late at night after a long day, only to find out that the bed was done but the shower was not cleaned at all, there was still all the mess in the same corner that the gentleman left after pumping the drain out. Imagine our anger, as we wanted to have a shower before going to bed. I talked to the lady at the reception and complained about the fact. She mentioned that there was no message at all from previous staff about cleanning the shower, which should've been done anyways when cleanning the room. It was late, so she apologized and said she was going to send someone first thing in the morning to clean the room, I asked her to give us a call before the cleaner shows up, to make sure we hear the knock on the door. We never received the call, and never had the shower cleaned, until we complained for the 3rd time and someone came finally to clean it (just the day we were checking out) totally dissappinted on the level of service for a VIP hotel. Beautiful garden and hotel deco, but they forgot that good services and clean premises is a must.

Hotel muy bonito pero un poco descuidado, el personal fue muy conflictivo entre ellos mismos y no es un buen hotel para descansar, de filtra mucho ruido.
