Love this place!

So love the historic quaintness. The porch overlooking the lake is lovely. The landscaping is beautiful. The rooms are not fancy but comfortable. The food is excellent. Walking distance to many shops and restaurants. The Segway tour and boat tour were so much fun! Will come back for sure!

Birthday surprise

It is a very old, but stately hotel. The lobby and tavern were pretty. The room was nice with a panoramic view of the lake. All in all a pleasant stay.

Ouch

We have always enjoyed staying at Lakeside Inn for the uniqueness and nostalgia aspect with its friendly service and good bar and dining. However, we have decided it is our last stay. The beds are just way too hard and may be the most uncomfortable beds from all of our travels. Sad, because we LOVE Mt Dora and the Inn's wonderful location but the lack of sleep and body aches before our long return trip to Indiana is not worth it. Sorry Lakeside! But it is really time to invest in some good beds (and with full capacity on our particular dates when we rec'd multiple calls from the staff checking to see if we were still coming or if we would be interested in comping our rooms) it tells me the income generated from this Inn could afford comfortable beds.

Staff was awesome. Meals too. Biggest issue for us was extremely cramped bath… room had “musty” feel to it. Biggest complaint was noise. Some guests hung outdoors well past midnight and they were loud…

Disappointing

The hotel was a major disappointment. I get that it is a historical building, but it was really run down. The carpet was nasty. The lack of an elevator was a major issue for me since I have bad knees.

Old but charming

The hotel is old but adds to its charm. Staff is friendly. Room was clean. Beds not terribly comfortable. Only stayed one night so didn't really matter.

Nice but...

Location and service were great and the lake is spectacular. Our only issue is that there was an inordinate amount of condensation on the inside of our widows. Judging from the buildup of mold on the interior window panes, this is an ongoing issue. There was only a hint of mustiness in the room but anyone with respiratory issues should make sure they are put in a room without this problem.
