Overpriced for what you get. Staff very rude.

Hard to cope with the rudeness. I came the wrong time Sooooooooo NOISY! Bed disgusting. Forgive me I have to tell the truth very very expensive for what you get.

Good location. Near bus station and light rail. Shopping and food courts within walking distance. Did not like that access to hotel from shopping center was closed off. We had to go outside to enter shopping center during rainy weather.

Great location, GREAT breakfast, good value.

Moderately priced hotel was very good value. Smallish room, but perfectly adequate. I was skeptical because of some of the reviews, but room was clean, and breakfast was superb. I took train in to from the airport and it was a relatively short walk to the hotel. Can walk through the shopping center to access the hotel from Jaffa road, and also go through the shopping center to access the light rail and Central Bus Station. From that perspective the location can't be beat. I would easily stay there again.

Minor Fixes Can Lead to Major Positive Experience

The hotel is just OK, but it could serve as a more pleasant "gate" to Jerusalem. Here is how: It serves as a "hostel" for young people on birthright or other large groups (who party, don't need hotel standards) and a "hotel" for families and adults. Separate into two spaces and charge separate rates. Create a simple but charming hostel, have a separate reception area (in a totally separate area), remodel some floors into a few large rooms with many private spaces in each, group lounges, cafeteria-style dining with paper goods, and no daily maid service. Then, focus on creating a separate respectable "Hotel". Reception: One overworked and underpaid worker to 7 hotel customers won't do. Each hotel floor: A designer can recommend simple upgrades to make each floor feel airy, well-lit and welcoming. Remove stained carpeting (use wood or tile), fix what is broken, keep it clean clean clean. Dining: Simple upgrades from a "cafeteria" to a "dining room", from so-so food to breakfasts that is fresh, tasty, and attractive (hire a chef, and the shuk is nearby!). The room: the door should open without problems. Fix what is broken, get normal small refrigerators, nice tiles instead of broken ones for the bathroom wall, and a "charging station" for laptops and phones. Charge more for daily maid service. The client of the hotel wants a pleasant, quiet, room. If the cost is a bit less for the hostel, and a bit more for the hotel, both clienteles with have positive experiences.
