Pampered

I am traveling in the Uk for 3 weeks visiting my coaching clients and this has been the best hotel I have stayed in. I felt spoiled with the heated towels, bathrobe and slippers along with the delicious breakfast and beautiful grounds. Next time I am going to add an extra night just to enjoy my experience and not feel so rushed with work.

Two day break to explore Truro and area

The stay was very comfortable and enjoyable for the two night that we stayed. The staff were all very friendly and reasonably efficient. We were unfortunately locked out of our room on the second evening , for some reason which was slightly annoying. We had walk back to the reception area in the rain to get the room cards re-programmed. The dinner service and food on both evenings was very good but the breakfast food on both mornings was not really hot enough. The scrambled eggs were only luke warm and the same for the poached eggs on the second morning. I didn’t mention this at the time but perhaps I should have done. Overall though a very enjoyable stay.

Tired interiors in a beautiful old building

Beautiful building, but lack of investment inside meant a tired bedroom, wafer thin walls, and a really poor bathroom. A real shame as it could be great…

Nice property in an old building. Plenty of parking (unless there is an event). Our room was a ground-floor room with a bush for view and not the garden view we were expecting. Sadly the room above had an insomniac who kept pacing at all hours and they had a dog (some rooms are dog friendly) which also barked at all hours. This affected our sleep. Food in the restaurant was great, good breakfast with lots of tasty options. Dinner was also good. Staff all round were polite and friendly. Good location with most of Truro town within a 20min walk. The White Company toiletries were good.

Perfect

The service was top notch everyone was competent in the job the were doing. I had dinner there cooked perfectly and breakfast was good too. The room was clean and tidy plus quite. Would I stay there again YES I hope the staff get to read this as thanks goes along way.

No lift to above level 2. Single rooms tend to be small and with limited view. The building is very characterful and in need of considerable renovation on the outside and to be fair, this is now being undertaken. The rooms are very traditional and full of character. The only relaxing area for guests is the bar. Not really suitable for a quiet place to relax. A guest private lounge is sadly missing.
