The room is okay, clean which is nice. Pools were dirty and the hot tubs were even dirtier and didn't work. Staff is nice. Our last day there happened to be the day the hotel shutdown, some were warned and others were not which was disappointing to hear, from what i understood customers were transferred to another resort. Food was good also, better than most all inclusives'. Drinks were okay. The resort allows people to walk up and try to sell you things in the seating area in the sand which is annoying and they shouldn't be crossing over. Overall the property I'd say is a 3.5 star. Good place to stay if your looking for a cheaper stay.

It was an unforgettable experience. It exceeded our expectations in our 25 years of marriage celebration. We are really very grateful.

The location to the beach is awesome, service was great! The food was good, they did need a bit more variety. The grounds are beautiful and the staff was friendly and helpful. Enjoyed our stay, first vacation we have been on in four years and totally worth it! Very quiet and loved the adults only resort.

This property is 5 stars all the way. Most importantly, the staff are phenomenal... everyone. They are friendly and have away of making guest fell special. The resort is set up to provide a peaceful getaway. The pool area is spacious, not over crowded. The overall atmosphere is relaxed and ADULT. Although there is plenty of fun and entertainment, it is not a spring break type of place. The resort has 5 restaurants, all with reservations. It was great! All of the restaurants have wonderful attentive servers. At Spices (modern Mexican) we had Antonio who was knowledgeable and entertaining. At Ventanas, which specializes in Andalusian cuisine, Cinar was our waiter a couple of times. He was fantastic. He even spoke to the chef to request a recipe for an item we had. Many thanks to the chef!! the managers at both Ventanas and Spices were attentive and made a point of coming around to ask how everything was. They do actually care about your experience The food is amazing at both Ventanas and Spices. Both chefs are spectacular at their cuisines. We had great experiences at all the restaurants. We attended a special lunch that was various paella dishes, that were prepared in front of the guest. Absolutely worth going! Don't miss out on afternoon tea. This is how we became acquainted with Cinar. He really does an outstanding job! The resort has a great small gym that is perfect for working out. it is a 15 - 20 minute walk to the start of the 5th ave area. This place is great!

This feels more like a "resort" than a hotel. Water features and bridges along the path to each building makes walking around more enjoyable.

Customer service was very good but the restaurants available times were very bad. I will give this hotel 3 stars only because of that. We came on Wed and made restaurant reservations for all 4 days but the only available time was 8:30PM or 9PM or 10PM. We don't eat so late. When we came to eat at 8:30, every night the restaurants were almost empty! Also they didn't have a lot of activities like other hotels.

Most outstanding customer service I’ve ever received. We loved the restaurants and top shelf drinks. It has a beautiful beach and we especially enjoyed the relaxing pools. If you are looking for a quiet getaway, this is the place for you.

We loved staying at the Royal Hideaway Playacar. The setting right on the beach was fantastic, and the rooms and grounds were immaculate. The indigenous agoutis, iguanas and beautiful birds roaming the premises made the whole atmosphere exotic. The staff were always helpful, smiling and pleasant. The food choices in the Deck/Grill and Spices restaurants were amazing, with a lot of local cuisine. We didn't enjoy the food quite so much in the "fancier" restaurants. Although it was quiet at night and we slept very well, the rooms could do with better soundproofing, or door silencers, as it wasn't easy to have a siesta in the afternoon. Overall though, it was a great experience and we'd love to stay again.

I loved everything from the food to the property. the service was amazing

The property was absolutely stunning. The food and drinks were all very good, way beyond expectations. The guests seem to be of the older crowd, but not an issue as long as your goal is a relaxing vacation (read: this isn’t a party spot). Our room was beautiful, and the bathroom quite spacious. Be sure to get in touch with your concierge in advance to make any dinner reservations.
