Don’t go

The staff was good…the food was terrible!!! Wish would wouldn’t have gone there….😫the pools and view and staff were nice but the food ??? We have stayed at many other Barcelos and were impressed but not this one.

Property is right on the beach which makes it nice. Biggest drawback was dinner arraignments. First, there are three choices each night - buffet, Italian, and then a rotating option. That's not enough if you are there 6 nights. Second, you can't call in a reservation, you have to wait in line to do it and that can take up to an hour a day of your vacation.

We booked a King room but a King was not available once we checked in. Payed an up charge to upgrade our status to premium and a King was suddenly available. Our booking was supposed to be all inclusive. We had to make reservations for dinner. We were 30 minutes late and we’re we’re not allowed in even though ALL tables were empty except for 1.

We've stayed in several Bacelo's and this is the oldest and is in need of some investment. However that's overcome by its cleanliness and the staff. The location is great, so is the view. Food is good for an all inclusive. I'd recommend a premium room. Zihuatenejo is lovely and the bus trip is an experience, only 14 pesos. Only thing I'd complain about is the shampoo in the shower is useless and their communication of events and specialty restaurants is very confusing. Overall though we had a wonderful stay.

We stayed at the Barcelo March 23- April 1,2022.We would highly recommend this resort for anyone staying in Ixtapa. It is only a 15 minute cab ride to Zihuatanejo.The Barcelo Hotel was clean with great service.It is situated on Playa El Palmar beach with beautiful views. All the pools were nice and our room had a very comfy bed.The food was good for an all inclusive with 4 great al cart restaurants. It is conveniently located across the street from many great restaurants and shopping.We would not hesitate to stay here again.
