Wonderful staff, all very helpful and kind. We had a great time and will definitely will be staying again next time we’re in Boston.

Picked this hotel since it's next door to Boston University and we were on a family college evaluation trip. (we also looked at Boston College and Northeastern, which are farther, but just a short T trip, or a longer walk away.) Due to COVID-19, the 4 restaurants in the hotel are mostly closed. The only one open, for some reason, is the sushi/noodle place, which wasn't the best choice IMHO. (it would have been nice to have had some regular food options for breakfast or lunch) And it's only open for certain days of the week. However, the hotel is next door to Dunkin and McDonald's, so breakfast was just a brief walk in the cold away. 7-11 is right next door as well. Many other restaurants are less than a mile walk away, and there are tons of DoorDash/GrubHub delivery options. (we used many!) The fitness center is closed and they only clean your room on request (you must leave while they're cleaning), so it was a bit of an unusual stay. But the staff was extremely friendly and the hotel is nice and in a great location. (did I mention that the Kenmore stop on the green T/Subway line is literally next door?) So, it's easy to get almost anywhere in Boston from this spot. We'll probably stay here again if our daughter goes to BU. (BTW, apparently the hotel was previously owned by BU and is still used for some student housing activities)

The room is gorgeous and spacious and clean. The front desk staff was so kind and welcoming. The hotel smells beautiful!!!!

close to Boston university ,the staff are very helpful and very nice.I will come back again .

People next room over three a party until 4am and kept us up all night. Security finally addressed it at around 4am.

Staff was sooo friendly and helpful... would definitely recommend this hotel.

Great place to stay! Staff are very friendly helpful. Very clean and amazing location. Not many amenities, I’m sure this is due to covid. But we were there to see Boston, not stay in the room 24/7. Will definitely stay there during my next visit!

Great location and staff could not have been more friendly or accommodating.

The staff at the Commonwealth was absolutely amazing - they went out of their way to upgrade us, help, and just generally went above and beyond - everyone was SO nice and helpful. And the location of the Commonwealth is absolutely perfect if you are touring colleges - convenient to everything and the T is right next door, Newbury Street and short walk, BU across the street, Fenway right behind us!

This is a great 5 star hotel. But what makes it more special is the staff that really goes far beyond expectations. I’ve stayed at the Plaza in NYC and this one is not as famous but far better. I wish I could come back to Boston and stay here again.
