Not a bad place, clean and seems newly redone. This is not a 8.8 score hotel though. I would give it a 7.5

Good hotel stay.

The hotel is clean and is new. We got the accessible, ground floor , close to the lobby, stayed for 1 night. It does have a full roll in shower with a big shower head. The only not so good thing was the water pressure and The walls are thin and we could hear the children jumping banging on the walls and screaming next door. They did eventually chill out.. The room was nicely sized for a accessible room and the bed is comfortable. The breakfast was a grab and go breakfast with banana , granola and muffins. But they have a coffee machine and the coffee is good and always hot. Has got water for tea if preferred. I would recommend this place and stay here again.

Nicely renovated but walls are too thin

Nicely renovated. Spacious. Has s fridge AND microwave. Pool area is huge but pool is quite deep. The room wasn't very clean but ok. The only reason why i won't be coming back is the walls are too thin! If you're a super light sleeper and get a neighbor who keeps their tv on all night, don't count on getting any sleep. Bring ear plugs!!! Maybe the hotel should just leave a couple sets of complimentary ear plugs in the rooms. That would have been so helpful.

Room was clean and neat. People were friendly and respectful. Continental breakfasts were pick up sacks and more like a snack than breakfast, but overall, a great stay. Would stay there again.

Overall was okay. Room was clean, beds are comfortable,friendly receptionist. We were disappointed with their breakfast on the go thing. You get 1 each orange,muffin and granola bar on paper bag. I picked the hotel cause of their free breakfast although its more expensive than other hotel nearby and saw the photo and thought we will get a hot breakfast but unfortunately it was disappointing. Good hotel

I stayed at the Hourglass (still don't know where the name came from?) Hotel in Bakersfield, to attend a funeral. I chose it, because of the high ratings and that it's newly remodeled AND that it had "dining". When I arrived, it was dark, and I wouldn't have known the hotel was open, as there was a big white vinyl covering over the sign (I realized later that the temporary signage had blown down in the wind) Because the hotel is not yet complete in its remodel,there was no onsite dining/restaurant, as promised. I was told that it is still in progress. So, unfortunately, all the snacks were junk food (super salty chips,etc). The coffee machines were great, and the coffee was good. Most importantly, the staff were all very friendly and professional, throughout my 2 night stay. The bed and pillows were superbly comfortable and quality. Everything was clean. I enjoyed the patio, w/its view of the pool, although, my room #263 was directly across from an unpleasant security light, that shone like a laser in my eyes, at night, so I only sat outside during the daylight. I knew there was no elevator, but I'm hoping next time there will be, as it's challenging to get luggage up the stairs, for just one person. Although, the stairs are a very comfortable rise- Although covid restrictions are lifted, the staff were all wearing masks (as I was) because I, for one, am not convinced it's not a good thing to keep on a little longer) I'd definitely stay here again!

Quick overnight stay on way to AZ. Very comfortable. It is under renovation now but no noises. Pool and hot tub very nice
