There was a blood stain on the curtain. A piece of the wall was damaged. There was no ventilation in the room. The bathroom smelled bad and the room smelled like mold.

Holiday Express in El Centro, CA

All in all everything was fine. Breakfast was really good and the ladies working the breakfast buffet were very attentive and helpful. The front desk girl was super nice and helpful. The room was quiet, and clean and what we expected. This hotel is new and construction is still going on. I think the project manager missed the “go live” date several times. In the breakfast room It has unfinished painting, and outlets, hanging wires. There was no TV. I’m sure they will get it done sooner than later.

A nice place to stay in El Centro, California

A very nice place for a two night stay. I have stayed here before and other locations in El Centro. Hotel is being updated and is looking refreshed. The shower floor was slippery and there was no mat for grip. Noticeable light from the hallway enters the room at night due to the door to floor gap. The breakfast was everything you could ask for in a large seating area. Many available electrical plugs-ins, but lacking in USB outlet lamps or at desk. The TV required rebooting and the VIZEO logo stays lit all the time on the cable box. Although I did book two matching rooms at the same time, the rates for the rooms were not the same. Odd.

Nice Place to Stay

This is my second time staying at this Holiday Inn Express. I really like the rooms and TV channel selection. The continental breakfast is nice. And there a food options fairly close by.

Our room was simply amazing! Very spacious & has the amenities needed. The balcony is so cute too! Of course the free breakfast is a plus too, very convenient for us since we had to leave early.

I checked into this hotel around 10pm on a friday, mind you they had already processed the payment on my CC and then they reversed my payment and then tried charging my card which then declined because my bank put a hold on the transaction and then my bank tells me that the hotel proceeded to try and charge my card 15 times! 15 TIMES! Dont you think that once you charge it and it declines maybe 1-2 times that you would stop trying?! Then the receptionist calls me at 7am mind you we are all sleeping since we had just drove 7-8 hours to get there, and they called just to tell me if i have another form of payment. This place ruined my mood for my whole trip.

We were not told it was under renovation/ construction when we made the reservation. Jacuzzi area was closed, a lot amenities were not available. Also, our room was not cleaned and when I called the front desk, they said we had to request for the room to be cleaned. We were never told this at all! I have never heard of such a thing. They offered to clean it in the morning, by then it was too late, we only stayed two nights . Every other hotel I have stayed in ALWAYS cleans your rooms! Air conditioner had a loud humming noise all night and the curtains were hard to close. Not sure if I will stay at a Holiday Inn again. We should have received a discount!
