Lady at the front desk was very odd. She looked at me like a deer in headlights, almost like Bubbles from Trailer Park Boys. She said very few words. She also spoke so faintly, it was hard to hear, and also very strange. Behind her was a sign that said “NO SAGGING” what the heck? Of all things to make a sign for? Also for some reason they required a $50 CASH deposit. Not card. CASH. what the heck? Never seen that, especially at a national chain like red roof inn. Like, what if...the next morning when you want your $50 bill back, the cashier just goes “what $50 bill?” Is there any protection from that? She had a shower curtain draped around the reception desk, with a small 2’x2’ opening. In the opening she had a FAN BLOWING ON HER FACE. Doesn’t that defeat the purpose of the barrier? Hotels.com GUARANTEES your reservation. And by booking with them, you PREPAY your room. However this lady, told me the room was double booked and they couldn’t host me. (So much for a guarantee). Even though I was the first of the two parties to arrive, for some reason I’m the one who gets denied? Shouldn’t it be first come first serve in this case? She told me the hotel didn’t charge me. Well that’s another lie bc it was PREPAID. what a circus. From my experience, don’t stay in Fayetteville or fort Bragg. Don’t stay in towns where they host military. Just drive to the next town. Raleigh is a great city, just push through and don’t stay in this town.

Pulled in and saw the folks living there, smoking suspicious things in the parking lot. Said, nope. Kept on driving. Found a nice Quality Inn near Lumberton.

Decent price for the stay

What I liked about the room: it had the long bathroom vanity (which is a MUST for most women). Would have preferred the vanity inside the bathroom vs. in the room. Room had a microwave, frig, and small coffee pot (all a MUST for me). Loved having hard flooring in room vs. carpet. This hotel is old, but the price was decent. Things were clean. Would stay here again.

Pleasing.

Overall my stay was pleasing. The front desk attendants were friendly and helpful. The hotel was fairly clean, extra precautions in place. It’s an older hotel so it’s not in perfect condition. I had the necessities for my trip. I am a night shift worker and I was able to sleep during the day with ear buds, not sure of the noise level through the night. Pricing is reasonable. I would stay here again.
