Great location and gelato for breakfast!

Classic "old world" hotel (no air conditioning) about a 10 minute walk from Sans Souci Palace and near Potsdam old town. Parking garage across the street (12 euros for 24 hours) and they served gelato (3 flavors) at breakfast!

Great location and room.

Amazing location and so close to Sanssouci. Staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly and while the breakfast buffet cost more than is typical (at least for my travels), it was definitely worth it. Elevator was a plus. The room was large, very clean, and comfortable. We had a wonderful and would highly recommend.

Not a 4 star hotel

Booked a double room while on the road and accidentally booked for one adult even though the room was large enough for two people and the cost online was by room size not per person. The hotel charged me extra when we arrived for my niece (a child) though the room needed nothing else to accommodate the "person." The hotel is VERY dated. Most outlets didnt work. There was no air conditioning. They provided a fan that was of little use. The windows were left open before we arrived so the room was quite warm.There was a lamp for light and it didnt work in the switch. The instructions for use of the parking garage were terrible costing us extra. Overall the ONLY good thing about this hotel was the location. Definitely NOT a **** hotel and we stayed at 10 hotels while on our trip in Europe. This was the poorest quality.

Local knowledge is excellent.

The hotel could not be better placed. A view of the old Brandenburg Gate greets you from the doorway. Shopping areas and the Dutch Quarter are within a few minutes walk. The staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about their city. Their English is impeccable.

Great location

I was really disappointed as I thought I would spoil myself and stay in a 4 star. This hotel has nice lobby but thats it. Rooms are old and my shower was so small I could not move as I kept hitting tap. No aircon but provided a fan as it was 30 degrees. Quite moisy as stayed on weekend. The staff were very friendly and helpful but this is definately a 3 star hotel . I have stayed in nicer 3 stars. Apparently they get the 4 star as they have a sauna. It is in a good location.

Excellent hotel in excellent location with balcony overlooking central square. Lovely entrance with pleasant and supportive staff helped us with logistics, and planning.

Great room

We had a double room 'Palais'. It was a lovely large room with a seating area and a balcony overlooking the square. It was also very close the Sanssouci Park. Parking is in the underground car park but you need to go to the hotel to get a card for it first to pay less.
