Perfect location and incredible service!

We loved El Colonial! When walking in the door from seeing the sites of Old San Juan they welcomed us back each time, offering us water and a beverage. They communicated through text with restaurant recommendations that were incredible. It was a great place to call "home" for a few days. A few complaints... water in the shower didn't get hot. It was warm, but not quite warm enough for me. Also, you could hear all the action in the hall and even outside on the street. One night was very quiet and the second night it was incredibly noisy with loud parties coming in at 3 and 4 in the morning. Sadly, we had to be up early to start our travels home so it was really inconvenient. This isn't the fault of the hotel, so I didn't ding the rating. I would still stay there again. Our room was right next to the stairs, so that may have contributed to the noise.

Very unique and interesting hotel! Their service is above average and notable. They seem willing to accommodate and assist in any way they can. I stayed at some other properties in old San Juan and the service here was the best!

The spot.

Outstanding team, open bar, and very warm welcome—the lobby of the hotel became a place to meet friends, goof off, grab a nightcap. Hard to envision a better stay in Old San Juan.

Do yourself a favor and stay here

This place is incredible! The location can’t be beat. The staff go out of their way to set you up to have the best possible day you can. My husband and I have never encountered another place full of warm, kind staff and great amenities. Even if the drinks didn’t flow freely (open bar!!!), it would still be a truly singular hotel. I already know we will be repeat guests. You must stay here!

The perfect little hotel.

Amazing hotel right in the heart of Old San Juan. The stuff was great, the rooms were big and the bed were comfortable. My 2 negatives is that I wish the shower pressure was a bit stronger and the bathroom had a bit more light.

Located in the heart of Old San Juan. Beautiful hotel. Clean. Conveniently located. Very pleasant staff. The 24/7 bar in the hotel lobby is all kinds of amazing as well. Was able to walk everywhere in Old San Juan from the hotel. Definitely will visit again.
