Front desk staff very friendly. Room was efficient and comfortable. Stayed in better....definitely stayed in much worse. What I expected in a town of river floaters.

Update needed

An ok La Quinta...could be much better if they would remove unsightly carpets from their premises...they are very outdated petri dishes.

An okay place to stay

Of course this hotel was nothing like the pictures that advertised it on hotels.com. There was also a description that said it was an eight mile walk from the Guadalupe River... That was a joke. On a positive the staff was great and the room was clean. Definitely an older and out of date Hotel. I guess supply-and-demand is why they can charge a higher amount for this location. They are pet friendly which is a plus. I noticed in the reviews that there was a room that had a leaky bathtub and overhead light not working. Of course we were the ones that got that exact same room. Does reviews I read or from May and our stay was June. I thought for sure that would have been taken care of. It's a shame to be wasting so much water like that as well. It was no small week. The breakfast was nothing fancy at all. They did have a waffle maker and lots of junk food and a few pieces of fruit. On a plus, if you needed coffee they had lots of fresh coffee and cocoa available at all times. This place wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. If you're looking for a decent place to stay then I can suggest this place. Also, it is located at a very busy intersection. Lots of food and shopping nearby. About 8 minutes away from Comal River and Schlitterbahn.

Disappointing

The building is old and smelled of cleaning products. The elevator made all kinds of noises that made us uncomfortable. The room itself had stains on the carpet and a scratched-up dresser and nightstands. I would not give this hotel a 3+ star rating.

Do Not Stay

Our door would not lock, there was no light in our bathroom, and the pull out sofa mattress had poo and blood stains on it. We arrived on Friday afternoon and was told no maintenance for the weekend. Someone showed up on Saturday at 4 pm to fix our problems.

Drapes did not cover window, only sheers. Being on west side of hotel, we had to wear sunglasses in the room during afternoon sun time. Closet had two skinny doors which would be fine but left door would not open. So it was hard to get clothes out. Bathroom toilet seat was loose. Tried to tighten screws with a coin but was not really successful. On the other hand, staff was very courteous, both front desk and cleaning staff from moment of check in to checkout. I would have preferred to have vending machines over purchasing items at front desk but it was manageable.

Only waffles and cereal for breakfast. Absolutely no orange juice. NO BAR SOAP IN WHOLE HOTEL. made reservations in advance stayed one extra day and was charged 10 more dollars Seriously? Especially with everything you were out of? Couple of spots on the pillows too. Very hard to get into hotel due to very busy intersections. Won’t stay here again.
