Family friendly paradise

Week long stay February for 4 (2 adults & 2 boys aged 9 & 6) Check in - promptly seen to by friendly staff. After receiving our details, we were able to hire pool towels for a €10 deposit each (cash only) with an option to change for €2 each (€40 refunded upon departure). Free Wi-Fi was available throughout the entire hotel complex. Hotel room - spacious, modern and clean. A mini fridge, air con and free safe in the room were nice touches. Comfort / cleanliness - We had a king size bed and a pull out double sofa bed. There were blackout curtains in the room : everybody slept well. Housekeeping was daily and the rooms were left spotless. Food - the food available was of a very high standard. Boredom did not occur as there was plenty of variety / choices. The show cooking at each meal was excellent with the staff working tirelessly. Hotels usually struggle with desserts but here they were superb. Snacks were available between meals at the pool bar. Pool areas - we could always find a sun lounger, no matter what time of day we went to the pool. The pools were kept immaculately clean. They are all salt water which I found to be better than chlorine (no stinging eyes etc). Entertainment - daily entertainment and Kids club. A kids disco each evening was fun. The evening entertainment was superb. There were plenty of spaces to sit & either watch the entertainment or relax & play games in the lobby. Highly recommended. We are already looking to return!!

Great value relaxing winter break

Excellent value winter sun. Very clean and well maintained hotel, with great (warm) pool and pleasant dining. Staff very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately SPA closed during my stay so can’t comment on that. Self service buffet food was fine with good choice, though more institutional than elegant. Room was very comfortable.

Good hotel

I found the hotel really clean with hand sanitisers everywhere. Staff insisted on masks being worn in the restaurant which was good. The room was large and comfortable, the bathroom had a lovely rain shower which i like. I was only disappointed that the Spa and Gym were both closed due to Covid but that was no fault of the hotel, i was disappointed as that was one of the reasons i had booked this hotel.

Nice hotel

Nice hotel and room. The position of the room wasn’t great as it was in a corner with not much outlook and sun blocked out most of the day by adjacent wall. I’m guessing this was because I booked it for single occupancy so wasn’t one of the better positioned rooms. The room and hotel were very clean. Also good variety of food for breakfast and evening meal. Overall a nice hotel but as I usually stay at Barceló Castillo Royal Level along the road, I found it a bit big and impersonal in comparison.

A Winter Break.......

15mins and 15 euros for a taxi to the Barceló Fuerteventura Mar hotel (also known as Barceló Fuerteventura Thalasso Spa). Booked via hotel.com - B&B same price as AI so it was a no-brainer!!! We don’t usually choose AI as we like to try different food but thought it would give us options. However, a slight hiccup when checking in as their system said we were B&B…aaagggh!! We showed them the hotel.com booking receipt and a quick call to them sorted this little mistake. The room was as depicted on their site as was the rest of the hotel. Place looked fresh and clean with clean towels and bedding sheets. A nice touch were the robes, slippers and toiletries. A 42 inch smart tv provided YouTube channels to watch although there was bbc1-3, itv, pick and sky news channels. There’s also a safe box. For the pool area there’s large pool towels in your room BUT we heard that if you want to change the towel there’s a cost of €3 (we did not verify this) which we were not made aware off. The pool is nice to sit at with the salt water where every day weather permitting there’s activities put on. Gosha was extremely friendly. She tries her hardest to get people to participate. She also engages with guests in the evening ….asking them about themselves and seems genuinely interested. The food….thankfully we didn’t pay for it, is a hit or miss in the evening, more misses than hits, food is often over cooked and dry. Luckily there’s a few good restaurants nearby.

Nice hotel but we have stayed at better 4star hotels, the view from room was supposed to be a breathtaking view of the bay, we had a sea view, but mostly pool view. We had a separate area to eat (as deluxe room/all inclusive) no big deal but the buffet was cold stuff, if you wanted hot food you had to go to the main food area. We only ate breakfast and can say the buffet wasn’t kept very hot, beans,sausages etc were just about warm. When we checked in we weren’t really told anything about the hotel, where things were etc. we were just told where the room was. Pool area really good, plenty of sun beds, only used the thalasso spa once, as deluxe room admission was free. Plenty of parking at front of hotel, you take ticket at barrier at the side of hotel, and when you exit the car park you press a button and they lift the barrier. Check in was 3pm and they really stuck to that, we arrived at 1.30 and we had to wait until 3.15. They are really hot on mask wearing at the hotel and around fuerteventura. Overall nice hotel, though a bit big for us, we wanted a hotel in quiet area by beach, and this fitted the bill

Amazing

Amazing hotel and staff. Hotel was really clean with cleaners cleaning the hotel round the clock. Good was amazing but only thing bad was there wasn’t no tags on them so you wouldn’t know what is what but besides there we would definitely stay there again!
